(A) COLT DELUXE MODEL 1883 SIDE BY SIDE 12 GAUGE HAMMERLESS SHOTGUN

Lot # 2432 (Sale Order: 429 of 661)

Manufactured 1886. This deluxe model features Circassian oil finished, round knob, checkered stock with matching splinter forearm. An old deflated Whippet waffle pad was added to the uncut stock. The barrels are of the finest patterned Damascus browned steel with wonderful pattern and no visible dents. They are stamped "COLTS PT. F.A.CO. HARTFORD U.S.A." on the rib. The case color box lock frame shows some light factory engraving. The forearm hardware is also lightly engraved and has an ebony inset. Also features double triggers and top safety. CONDITON: Fine. The barrels have a clean brown pattern, just thinning near the muzzle, and a few age spots. Frame colors are bright inside but have patterned and silvered out on the exterior with a flash of color. (C) ULTRA RARE REMINGTON MODEL 141 GAMEMASTER SLIDE ACTION CARBINE.

Lot # 2450 (Sale Order: 447 of 661)

Offered is one of the rarest of the pre war Remington rifles. There is a great article on the 141 Carbine put out by the Remington Society on this variation. According to the "Minutes of the Remington Arms Product Committee (APC) in January 1936 for the Model 141 carbine stated: Use up the 18½ inch barrels. Let later observation indicate whether a carbine is still desired." They estimate that between 135-408 Model 141 carbines were ever made. They also note that there was never a Model 141 carbine barrel made and that all of these were made using surplus Model 14 barrels. This gun is listed as being made in 1939. They list the .25 caliber as only 1-2 made, .30 caliber 77-268, .32 caliber 21-62 and .35 caliber 36-76. The last carbine is listed as being made in 1941. They did not make another slide action carbine until the Model 760 came out. Other than the carbine length, all other features are standard for a pre war Model 141. Round barrel, twist magazine, flat top rear sporting sight, dove tail on integral base front sight, blue finish, case color rail, take down, cartridge case head embedded on left side of frame, plain pistol grip walnut stock, Remington checkered metal butt plate. and a grooved forearm. Top of barrel is stamped Remington and left side of barrel has patent dates. The barrel crown is bevel rounded. (proper) The sight would be impossible to reset as the base is part of the barrel and to reset from rear would effect the chamber and barrel legends. CONDITION: Excellent. The frame retains 98-99% blue with only minor handling. The barrel blue is just as nice. The high edges of the twist tube show some light finish wear. The case color rail shows some slight wear. The stock is excellent but does have a few minor impressions and dings. Action is fine. Bore is bright. This rare gun has seen little use. Barrel Length: 18 - 1/2" Caliber/Bore: .30 Remington FFL Status: Curio & Relic Manufacturer: Remington Model: 141 Serial Number: 29091
