Manufactured 1917. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, takedown, blue finish, walnut stocks, rifle buttplate, dovetailed front sight, and Winchester sporting rear sight. Left side of frame has two extra holes for side-mounted receiver sight. Barrel has two line address on left side of octagon. Tang has Model 1892 stamp. CONDITION. Excellent. Retains 98% blue on barrel and tube with sharp edges and crisp legends. Retains 98% blue on nose cap. Majority of screws are true. Take down ring shows 70% blue with usual flaking. Frame retains 85% bright blue with some flaking at base, at chamber and some scattered handling marks. Stocks are excellent with usual impressions and some added finish. Bore is bright. Plain walnut stock with crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and magazine tube retain the majority of their fading facotry blue with high edge wear. Receiver has faded to gray patina. Forend appears lightly cleaned with some mild impressions. Stock retains its original, age darkened surfaces with scattered impressions and nicks. Bore is bright with well defined rifling. Manufactured in 1915. The classic American .30-30 carbine. Early features include the post front sight, folding ladder rear sight, saddle ring and stud, non fluted comb, and long forend. Features walnut stocks, blue finish, steel carbine buttplate, full length magazine, and twin barrel bands. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrel and tube retain nearly all their factory blue finish. The rear band shows only high edge wear. The front band retains blue on the sides with patina balance. The loading gate retains most of its bright blue. The blued bolt shows some age freckling. All the screws are true and retain much blue. The barrel legends are crisp. The blued lever is turning patina while the base retains majority of blue. The upper tang is patina. The wood is excellent, proud to metal, with scattered impressions. The frame retains flashes of blue but has basically flaked to a smooth patina which was a result of the heat treating and not wear. Manufactured 1906. Seldom seen caliber in this serial range. Features a 26" barrel with a dovetailed front sight, Winchester flat top rear sight, blue finish, and walnut stock with rifle butt plate. The forearm has the ebony insert. The left side of the frame has Winchester legends with Model 1895 tang stamp. "Caliber 38-72 WCF" stamped on top of barrel. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains approximately 85% blue, drifting patina at breech with some patina blending with the original blue. Receiver still shows 85-90% of the bright blue on sides, thinning near chamber, high edge wear, sharp legends. The bolt shows 80% bright blue blending to patina near face. The lever shows some strong blue, blending with patina. Magazine is a dull blue brown on sides turning grey at base. Stock is proud to metal with usual scattered dings and impressions. Forearm in commensurate condition. The action is smooth. Bore is strong and sharp but lightly frosting. A really sharp and scarce rifle. Manufactured in 1915. This beautiful custom full nickel rifle features a striking large pattern leaf scroll with punch dot background covering both sides of the receiver with nitre blue screws. The bolt is also engraved as well as the lever, hammer, barrel breech & muzzle end (5" of leaf scroll), the last 3" of tube, barrel hanger, lower tang. The rifle butt plate is case color. Standard features are the full octagon barrel, full tube magazine, dove tail front sight, 1901 patent flat top blue rear sight, light walnut stocks. CONDITION: Excellent as custom finished. Metal retains nearly all the expertly plated finish with a small dent in tube and a couple spots of finish bubbling on barrel. All barrel legends are still crisp. Screws retains nearly all their nitre blue. The engraving is sharp. The stocks have some dings and impressions. The stock has no finish so the wood should be done to match. Strong case colors on butt plate. The bore is defined but softening with abrasions. CONDITION: Excellent. Does not appear to have been fired or seen use but the top of butt plate is rusted from sitting and has affected the stock in that area as well. Plain, semi-pistol grip walnut stock with scarce early nonslip steel shotgun butt plate. Gun is accompanied by a pair of 1922 and 1923 California hunting licenses of a Lester Sorocca, identified by the consignor as a previous owner of this shotgun. CONDITION: Fair. The bores on this rifle measure 10mm; exact caliber is unknown but we believe it to be a 10.25x40R. The maker is stamped on the matted rib "MILLER & VAL GREISS MUNCHEN". The serial number is found on the underlever release and on bottom of barrels. Stamped under the barrels is number 8725. This German double rifle features case color back action locks and exposed hammers, all lightly engraved. The engraved trigger guard has a horn grip. The underlever barrel release is also made of horn. The blued barrel has gold wedding bands at breech. The checkered splinter forearm is secured by a wedge. The checkered stock has a roll over cheek piece with a very wide base. The metal butt plate has a trap. Rifle also features double triggers. On the barrels, the front sight is present, but the rear dovetail is empty, and there are seven scope or sight mounting tap holes, all with filler screws. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrels retain approximately 98% blue finish with some handling marks and a few light freckles. The frame and its components shows flashes of case color but basically grey patina. Engraving is sharp. The stock has some dings, the checkering has been sharpened and the entire butt has been refinished. The butt stock toe has a spliced repair. The forearm has some light chipping along right edge and the checkering shows some added finish. The bores are strong. Both hammers engage. Underside of tubes with matching "3958" numbers, CL proofs for Charles Lancaster, view and proof marks, and "41" bore notation. Splinter forearm with near full coverage of modified point pattern checkering, and a replaced horn forearm tip, with light scroll engraving on exterior iron, interior numbers matching in wood. Underlever action with acanthus scrollwork and signed "CHARLES LANCASTER'S PATENT" on both sides, action flats with serial number, lever engraved with rays and scrollwork with checkered knob. Backaction locks with English stalking safeties and tall cocks, engraved en suite, with locks additionally signed "C. LANCASTER LONDON PATENT". Circa 1969; wood tests negative for salt. Vent rib with Bradley style bead front sight and a mid bead with insert damaged, with machine cut crosshatch matting. Chambers with 2 - 1/2" chamber proof, "**$" choked designations for each tube for Skeet chokes, barrels with designations for a Belgian made .410 with 2 - 1/2" chambers. Browning sliding wide bottom forearm with finger recesses is checkered in modified point pattern, with a Deely latch release. Boxlock action with classic Pigeon grade engraving of pigeons on each side with supporting scrollwork, scroll edging, and carved florals. No signature observed, but the work is well executed, excepting the forearm iron, which appears to be a replacement as the work is considerably lesser than balance. Single mechanical trigger, non-automatic safety with "S inlaid in gold ahead of tab, O and U abutting for barrel selection. Square knob short tang stock on a densely grained walnut built with sidepanels, checkered in two panels of point pattern checkering at the wrist, and fit with a Browning waffle pad. CONDITION: Barrels retain virtually all of their factory blue with some minor handling marks and very mild thinning to sharp edges. Action excellent, engraving crisp and clear, with some softness from age and discoloration. Stocks very good with some scattered handling marks and impressions, left side of butt with remnants of adhesive that should clean. Mechanically fine, bores excellent with some mild evidence of firing, ejectors are in time.
