Lot consist of: (A) German Schuler Reform four shot pistol. Made in pre-War Germany. Marked "BREVETE / D.R.P. / 177023 / (Eagle)" on the left side of the frame. Commercial proofs on the barrel and frame. Marked "GERMANY" on the butt. Blade front sight and U-notch rear. Metal retains its original blued finish worn to a nice gray patina in areas. Aftermarket white plastic grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with wear and some minor cleaned pitting. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Bores have frosting with some light pitting. Fair rifling. Mechanically functional. (B) Unknown German proofed Velo-Dog style engraved revolver. Made circa late early 1900s. German proofs on the frame and cylinder. "14" stamped on the cylinder, ejector rod, and cylinder pin. Large blade front sight. Scroll style engraving on the frame and cylinder. Floral scene plastic grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its nickel finish with some wear and handling marks. Grips have some chips out of the edges, with some wear. Heavily frosted bore with little rifling retained. Tight hammer and cylinder. Appears to function fine. This is a retailer mark from a dealer in France. There is no visible import mark. Matching serials on the frame, slide, and barrel connect. Commercial German proofs on the slide. Blade front sight with V-notch rear. Metal has a light coat of reapplied finish on some of the metal components. Fire blue retained on the trigger and barrel latch. Solid hard rubber grip with checkering. "MAUSER" marked banner on the right side of the magazine. Includes a leather purse style holster. Mauser C96 "Red 9" self-loading pistol in 9mm with shoulder stock. The Imperial German contract for 150,000 these pistols was filled between 1916 and 1918. Right side of the lower receiver is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER, OBERNDORF A. NECKAR", and the top of the barrel assembly is marked "WAFFENFARIK MAUSER, OBERNDORF A/N", with Imperial German "U" proofs on those same assemblies. Eagle stamp on bottom of trigger guard. Matching serial numbers are present on both the upper and lower assemblies, inside both grip panels, hammer, bolt assembly, bolt release, and hammer assembly. No other numbers are visible. Serial number matches the range of serial numbers produced between 1916 and 1918. Original blued finish is present on all metal parts. No import mark. The correct late adjustable rear sight is present and marked from 50 to 500 meters. Right side sight adjustment button is missing. Inner magazine components are present and functional. "Red 9" grips have almost no visible paint left, and only tiny traces can only be seen on several grips grooves. Entire "MAUSER" stamped wood stock assembly with steel fittings is a reproduction. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Blued components retain 70-75% of their finish, with graying patina, and light freckling, especially on the upper barrel. Rear sight assembly is missing its elevation slider button. Entire wood/metal stock assembly is a reproduction, with the wood exhibiting light wear and the metal fittings moderate wear. Barrel assembly number "68" matches the cylinder's assembly number of "668". Grips do not match. Right side of frame bears the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal emblem above kanji characters stipulating the model and the serial number. Bottom of butt bears several inspector markings. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning all around that shows through to gray and brown patinas. Mirror bore, showing strong and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered wood grips show some smoothing as well as a couple of impressions. (B) Japanese Type 94 pistol manufactured at the Chuo Kogyo arsenal in December of 1940. Right side of receiver is bears several markings stipulating the date of manufacture, manufacturer, and serial number. Keyes fiber grips. Dual pinned base magazine with "L" on baseplate lip for Little manufacture. Housed in a really neat repurposed cigar box with several lacquered on news headlines and photos relating to World War II and the ending proclamations and containing a silk SERE map of Southeast China, 4 10th Air Force patches, 2 China Burma India Theatre patches, 2 sets of 3 chevrons (sergeant), First Officer pilot bars, a doily with gothic W, 2 "US" buttons, and a Prop and Wings button. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the parkerized finish, with some normal handling marks throughout. Some silvering at areas consistent with holster wear at muzzle, dust cover, grip safety, high points. There is some blood pitting on left side of the slide. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with good rifling and some light consistent frosting throughout. Accoutrements are very good, pilot bars appear cut off a uniform. A really neat historic set, that likely belonged to a pilot that flew the hump.
