Lot # 4034 (Sale Order: 34 of 463)

Seldom encountered, little is known about DWM's Lugers manufactured under contract for Finland. This example is marked "VANKEINHOITOLAITOS" above a five-pointed star surrounded by crescents and surrounded again by a radiant burst, indicating issue to the Finnish Federal Bureau of Prisons. Otherwise, this example very much resembles that of a commercial fashion Luger, with crown over "N" stamps present on the left side of the receiver, bottom of the barrel, and left side of the breechblock, as well as being serialized in the commercial fashion. Matching numbers include the frame, locking bolt, trigger, sideplate, barrel, and rear toggle link. Front blade sight has been replaced by a crude period Finnish replacement. Major metal components are rust blued, with smaller components being strawed. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original rust blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning all around that shows through to a grey patina. (C) RARE & ALL MATCHING DWM ROYAL PORTUGUESE ARMY CONTRACT MODEL 1906 M2 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH

Lot # 4040 (Sale Order: 40 of 463)

Manufactured by DWM under contract for Portugal between 1908-1910, only 5,000 of these "M2" Model 1906 Lugers were produced for the Royal Portuguese Army during the brief reign of King Manuel II. After the Portuguese Revolution of 1910, Portugal's military would go on to adopt and purchase more Lugers from Germany, albeit with chamber markings not resembling the former monarchy. This example's serial number of "2866" places it in the middle of DWM's contract with Portugal. Portuguese crown over "M2" stamped over the chamber, with Portuguese military acceptance stamps found on the left side of the receiver, underside of the barrel, and rear of the frame. Extractor is marked "CARREGADA". Matching numbers include the frame, locking bolt, sideplate, trigger, safety lever, grip safety, receiver, breechblock, forward toggle link (marked on the underside), rear toggle link, barrel, and checkered walnut grips. Grips are lightly stamped with the last two digits of the serial number on the interior of the grip panels. Complete with a leather Portuguese holster, stamped "A.E" on the interior, cleaning rod, and pin punch tool. CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting some areas of thinning that show through to patina, well as some high edge wear. Strawed components retain traces of their original finish, and exhibit areas of age-related discoloration. Bore is bright with good rifling, but exhibits some light oxidation throughout. Grips show normal wear, with the right grip bearing a crack from the top that measures about one inch in length. Leather holster is excellent, showing few small areas of age-related cracking and exhibiting few minor handling marks. A fine example of a Portuguese M2 Luger, manufactured by DWM during the reign of Portugal's last monarch. -MLW- Accessories: Holster, cleaning rod, pin punch tool Barrel Length: 4 - 3/4" Caliber/Bore: .30 Luger FFL Status: Curio & Relic Manufacturer: DWM Model: M2 Serial Number: 2866

(C) SELDOM SEEN DWM MODEL 1906 PORTUGUESE ROYAL NAVY CONTRACT LUGER WITH HOLSTER.

Lot # 4050 (Sale Order: 50 of 463)

Manufactured by DWM under contract for the Portuguese Royal Navy. It is estimated that only 1,000 of these Royal Portuguese Lugers were manufactured during the reign of King Manuel II, who was the last monarch of Portugal. After his exile, a new order of Lugers was placed for Portugal's Navy, with the chamber marking's crown being replaced with an "R.P." (Republic of Portugal). This example's chamber is marked with a crown over an anchor and bears an "MP" proof on the left-hand side for "Marina Portuguesa" (Portuguese Navy). Toggle is marked with the DWM monogram. Matching numbers include the frame, locking bolt, trigger, barrel, receiver, breechblock, and toggles. Grip safety has been renumbered to match, possibly by the arsenal. Grips are mismatched, with the sideplate being unnumbered. Bottom of magazine is marked with the Portuguese triangle within circle proof. Complete with an unidentified leather Luger holster, which shows great resemblances to the Portuguese M2 Luger holster. Holster appears to be unmodified, but is affixed with a should strap which is permanently attached to the rear of the holster and is fitted with a magazine pouch, which is too small for a Luger magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their original rust blue finish, exhibiting nicks and areas of wear all around that show through to areas of silvering. Frame and grip safety show oxidation beneath the grips. Internal components retain fair amounts of old cosmoline. Proofs are sharp, with the exception of a small area on the bottom of the anchor, which exhibits some fading. Strawed components retain scant traces of their original finish and show age-related discoloration all around. Bore is bright, retaining fair rifling and pitting within the grooves throughout. Grips are mismatched, with the left panel showing a loss to the rear of the safety lever and the right panel showing heavy smoothing. Holster's leather is worn, showing cracking and crazing all around. Stitching is intact. A seldom encountered example of a DWM contract Luger produced during Portugal's last monarchy. -MLW- Accessories: Holster Barrel Length: 4" Caliber/Bore: 9mm Para FFL Status: Curio & Relic Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1906 Serial Number: 49
