2024 New England Auto Auction - DAY 2
Description
1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Bubbletop
Lot # 100 (Sale Order: 101 of 167)
The attention to detail and overall period-correctness is just outstanding. Very rare factory V8-code sport coupe model powered by the iconic "QB-code" 409/409 HP dual-quad solid-lifter engine with a T-10 4-speed transmission and factory-correct 4.11 posi-rear. Nearly everything on the motor, trans and drivetrain shows correct castings, date-codes and markings even down to the GM hoses! Block, heads, intake, carbs, generator, etc are all period-correct components for 1962 "409" Hi-Perf applications.
Everything was rebuilt at the time of restoration and the car currently runs awesome and is dialed in nicely. The only mechanical "update" is a set of dual electric fans to help the cooling process.
Exterior is beautifully finished in the correct shade of Ermine white with excellent chrome, trim and glass throughout. Correctly color-matched 14" steel wheels with dog dish caps and radial tires really finish off the "sleeper" look this car deserves. Interior contrasts perfectly in the full red vinyl treatment with bench seat, padded dash, floor-mounted "spaghetti" shifter, vintage Stewart Warner accessory gauges and the authentic and original Sun Tach with EB9A under-hood transmitter box.
The common stripped-down options of factory heater and radio delete are also proof that this car means business. The undercarriage is super solid and nicely coated with factory red-oxide, showing off all the correct assembly-line markings and details. Pictures just do not do this car justice and should be seen to be appreciated.
This is your chance to own one of the great pavement-pounders of the 60's and a car that really started the American muscle movement. Investment grade vehicle that will always be appreciated everywhere it goes and we can guarantee SHE'S REAL FINE THIS 409 !!

1925 Lincoln 126 Victoria Coupe
Lot # 112 (Sale Order: 113 of 167)
The Model L was Henry Leland?s first model after forming the Lincoln Motor Company following his departure from Cadillac.
Introduced in 1917, the Model L was designed by Leland?s son-in-law, Angus Woodbridge who was trained as a ladies hat maker.
In spite of Mr. Woodbridge?s unconventional training, the Model L was a very nice car, but viewed as a bit old-fashioned.
In 1922 Leland sold Lincoln to Henry Ford for $8 million. Ford immediately displaced Leland and Woodbridge, and assigned his own son Edsel to head the new division, and he designed a new body for the L-series, and improved handling with the addition of hydraulic shock absorbers.
By 1925, the robust L-Series was restyled again with a new nickel-plated radiator shell. The 90 horsepower V8 and three-speed transmission.
The Lincoln was offered in a variety of body styles. The car featured here is one of 204 cars with bodies from Brunn and Company, 1925 and is dressed in a rare and attractive 4 passenger Victoria coupe.

1962 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster
Lot # 115 (Sale Order: 116 of 167)
This 1962 Ford Thunderbird,a true factory code 76B ?Sports Roadster,? is an amazing example of a documented, low mileage vehicle that has been exceptionally maintained in its original condition. Original low mileage vehicles of this nature do not come up for public sale often and this fine example is being offered at NO RESERVE. Any serious enthusiast or collector would be proud to have this vehicle parked in their stable. To date, this vehicle has just over 12,000 original, documented miles.
From the beginning, this Thunderbird has been cared for and maintained to a high standard. Originally, this vehicle was specially ordered by a doctor?s wife from Spaulding Automobile Company in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Per her wishes, this vehicle was specially ordered in the cream white finish with light blue interior and matching color vinyl top. This custom color combination is extremely rare in the Thunderbird world. According to documentation provided, the car was only used on special occasions and every winter was stored back at the dealership. Prior to her passing, the original owner sold the vehicle back to the dealership, where they used it sparingly and kept it stored on stands when not in use. When the dealership closed in 1985 the owner retired and took this Thunderbird with them to Arizona where it was sold. At that time in 1985 it had 11,250 miles. In 2000 the vehicle was donated to be sold as a church benefit. The current and 3rd serious owner, a collector of high quality Fords and Shelby Mustangs, purchased the car from that sale in 2001 and has lovingly maintained it since. This history is documented and is included in the sale.
This Thunderbird sports its original 390ci / 300hp engine paired with its original automatic transmission and drivetrain. Driving this vehicle is an experience, it runs and drives as one would expect. The engine is smooth and the car seems to glide effortlessly down the road. Again, it is worth noting that original low mile survivor cars of this nature are extremely rare. On inspection one will notice that even the tires are the original from the dealership and according to the current owner have never been off of the rim. They look almost like new, however it is worth noting that for safety reasons, new tires should probably be put on before any distance driving as the originals are over 60 years old. On the exterior the cream white and light blue color combination blend perfectly. At one point, some paint work was done on the exterior to one fender but was done to such a high degree to match the car that it is virtually impossible to notice.
The Sports Roadster was a rare, unique and highly desirable Thunderbird option for 1962. The fiberglass tonneau cover covers the back seat and creates a sleek two seat roadster. Brilliant Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels accent the curves and lines beautifully. On demand, the original power top smoothly operates as it should and the original customer ordered light blue vinyl is still in exceptional condition for its age. This amazing time capsule is loaded with factory options available at that time. Since their purchase, the current owner has diligently continued this car?s legacy of proper storage and maintenance.
Documentation with this sale includes the two original factory built tickets, a copy of notarized ownership history and mileage notations, photo of the vehicle in storage at the dealership on stands, and the original 1962 Ford Dealer Thunderbird promotional book.
Since the purchase of this vehicle, the current owner has had new white wall tires installed.
Life changes bring this car back to the NEAA, the current owner truly enjoyed this Thunderbird and is looking forward to seeing it in the hands of a new caretaker.
