Historic The BEATLES with Murray the K 1960s Reel To Reel Tapes, TAPE 1) The BEATLES, "As it Happened" Tape #1, Murray the K in UK, record needle drop plus additions, 17 minutes,,recorded February 1964 to January 1965, this 1/4" reelconsists of a good quality "needle drop" of Murray The "K" and The Beatles "As It Happened", a 7" Extended Play vinyl record from 1965, far more interesting in retrospect, these loose interviews are quite entertaining, snippets of music are also included, such as The Beatles performing "Shout" many years before it was released as part of Anthology, an interview with Ringo, regarding his engagement to Maureen, appears near the end of side two, minor tape speed problems ( too slow)evident  in places exist even on the original disc, an interesting, rare recording of a rare record, excellent condition, TAPE 2) "The Story of A Song", 23 minutes, this 1/4" reel appears to be six segments of a syndication demo tape, storiesbehind notable recordings. I can't find any evidence that these ever aired, but they are not off air recordings regardless. In the first, longest segment, Neil Diamond tells a fascinating story behind "Cracklin' Rosie". The BEATLES with Murray the K 1964 Reel to Reel Tape, "As It Happened" Outtakes Tape #2, 10:00 minutes, segments never before available, it is high quality, probably 2nd generation from Murray's original tape, this 1/4" reel comprisesof four segments recorded between April 26th and 28th, 1964 when Murray The "K" Kaufman visited London and The Beatles, the first piece finds John, Ringo and Murray backstage at The NME Poll Winners Concert (Wembley Empire Pool, London) just as seminal English rocker Cliff Richard takes the stage, Ringo and John try to explain the lack of energy in the crowd, Ringo confirms to Murray that fans are throwing "sweets" at Cliff in similar fashion as the Jelly Babies thrown at The Beatles, most interestingly, George, John and Ringo assure Kaufman that The Rolling Stones will be up soon with their exciting act,The Stones have yet to make a memorable impression on Kaufman despite George's reminder that he'd actually met Jagger afew nights before, the second segment was recorded backstage during the production of  the "Around The Beatles"  TV special and finds George playing an un-plugged riff from "You Can't Do That", the B-side to their latest single, discussion drifts

The BEATLES at D'eauville Murray the K 1964 Reel to Reel Tape, 1/4" reel, excellent original condition, original plastic reel and box, "Deauville Hotel Interviews," Murray The "K" Kaufman was an immensely popular DJ for WINS inNew York during the early 60's and is often remembered as "The Fifth Beatle" for his association with The Fab Four during their New York, Washington, Miami inaugural US visit,  this 1/4" reel appears to be the raw master tape of"Murray The K's Swingin Soiree" show from February 13th, 1964, recorded in the hotel room Murray shared with George Harrison at The Deauville in Miami Beach, Florida, 20 minutes of content features intros and outros to records (presumablydubbed in back at WINS in New York ), Murray's retelling of the day's events, Murray reading commercials and PSA's, Murray's interviews and banter with The Beatles themselves, especially worthy of note is Murray's read of a"Beatlemaniacs" contest run by WINS in which lucky winners will be flown to Miami to see the Beatles dress rehearsal and broadcast performance for the Feb. 16th edition of The Ed Sullivan Show, it is perhaps the earliest use of this iconic term,
