The blade is etched over 17” with various...more foliate, patriotic, and military motifs. The ricasso has a spurious stamp that reads “U.S. ADK 1851.” Gilded brass hilt. Wire-wrapped leather grip. Gilded brass-mounted iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray overall patina. Hilt has approx. 70% of the finish remaining. The grip is undamaged. 1) Overall length: 38”. Blade length: 31”. Blade has a single medium fuller and features a 5 1/2" etched panel on each side that shows foliate motifs with the words “In T...morereue Fest”. The ricasso is stamped “(logo) P.O & CO”. Gold plated iron hilt with turned down quillon. Modified plain reverse P guard with faceted backstrap. Wire-wrapped composite grip. Black enameled iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish. Hilt shows light wear with some loss of plating. Scabbard retains most of its original finish but has brown spray paint in spots. 2) Overall length: 36 1/4". Blade length: 30 3/4". Blade has a single medium fuller and is stamped at the ricasso “(king’s head) (knight’s head) W.K & C.”. Plated hilt with iron guard and non-ferrous pommel & backstrap. Wire-wrapped composite grip. Black enameled iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina with scattered spotting. Hilt shows light wear, as does the scabbard. 3) Overall length: 39". Blade length: 32 3/4". Blade has a single medium fuller and is stamped at the ricasso “(knight’s head) W K C”. Plated iron hilt with drop quillon and reverse P guard. Wire-wrapped composite grip. POST CIVIL WAR DRUM POSSIBLY FOR GAR USE.

This drum measures approx. 12” in height and 17” in diameter. It has stenciled gold decoration on the upper & lower hoops with an American eagle decal next to the certifi...moreably antique ivory peephole. A label inside reads “HENRY EISELE. Successor to WILLIAM SEMPF. MANUFACTURER OF BASE AND SNARE DRUMS, 209 & 211 Grand Street, New York. N.B.-DRUM HEADS, STICKS, CORDS & constantly on hand”. Eisele is known to have been working in New York City in the late 1880s. CONDITION: the top skin has a repair and the bottom skin has a split. The hoops & snare are loose due to the lack of ropes. US CIVIL WAR CARTRIDGE POUCHES & MORE.

1) An original Civil War period 58 Cal. cartridge pouch with tin liners. The pouch has no manufacturers markings but is complete. An oval “US” brass plate on the front is...more likely a reproduction. The over the shoulder strap and its associated plate are also believed to be reproduction. CONDITION: pouch nearly is complete but shows moderate wear overall with notable flaking. The closing strap is broken and partially missing. 2) An original Civil War period cartridge pouch with tin liners. The pouch has no manufacturers markings. An oval “CSA” plate on the front is a reproduction. CONDITION: the box itself shows moderate wear with some flaking. The finial at the base has been replaced and one buckle at the base is missing. The closing strap is broken and partially missing. 3) An original Spanish-American War period canteen with a khaki canvas cover that is stenciled in blue “C 1 VA” on one side and “U.S.” on the other. Canteen has attached stopper chain & ring but the actual cork is missing. A partial over-the-shoulder sling is present. CONDITION: canteen shows staining and significant field use but no major damage except as noted. (02-18138/BF). $400-600.

This hat likely dates from the middle of the 20th century. A Civil War-style reproduction hat cord has been added, as well as a reproduction bullion “US” in wreath office...morer’s hat device. The black felt hat has a grosgrain edge binding and a brown leather sweatband. CONDITION: hat does show honest wear, likely from Civil War reenacting. 19th CENTURY MILITIA KEPI.

A wonderful light blue militia or infantry kepi dating as early as the Civil War to the late 1870s. A fine quality officer’s-grade kepi with a silver bullion quatrefoil o...moren the crown. The band area has two rows of bullion 3/8” tape. Nice early tarred leather chinstrap with a single frame buckle terminated by two Civil War-era staff buttons. The black visor has a bound edge. The interior is lined with a patterned black cloth that appears to be cotton. The sweatband is present but degraded from years of use. CONDITION: the body of the hat shows minor moth damage and the quatrefoil is complete. The bullion edging, chinstrap, side buttons, and visor are complete with light to moderate wear. The interior is complete with tacking threads intact. The sweatband has losses and tears but is substantially present. An excellent kepi worthy of more research. (02-22412/BF). $400-800.

This fine English spyglass measures 17 1/2" collapsed and 25” extended. There is a cup-shaped leather cover over the sun shield that originally buckled to the leather cov...moreering of the shaft. The sun shield is engraved “THE INCORPORATED THEMES NAUTICAL TRADING COLLEGE H.M.S. WORCESTER PORT OF LONDON GENERAL KNOWLEDGE PRESENTED BY Lieut L. Corbett, R.N., (O.W.) Awarded to Harold McCarthy Midsummer 1912”. The extendable eyepiece is marked “H. HUGHES & SON LTD 59 Fenchurch ST LONDON 416/5008”. Metal parts appear to be plated brass. CONDITION: spyglass appears to function well. All metal parts are uncorroded. Buckles & straps that secure the sun shield cover to the shaft are missing.(02-22463/BF). $300-500.

He wears a cloth...more or leather belt that has a pistol stuck into the right side. The pistol is a bit unclear but appears to be a Joslyn Army revolver. He also wears an over-the-shoulder strap with a hunting bag & attached powder horn. CONDITION: this image has no frame or mat, but is housed in a plexiglass protective frame. REGIMENT OHIO VOLUNTEER INFANTRY. The black & white lithograph is housed in a period silver-finished ornate frame measuring approx. 23” x 29”. It depicts a rather detaile...mored rendition of the camp and surrounding area associated with the 196th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The bottom of the lithograph reads “Drawn by A. RUGER, Co. E. 196th Reg O.H.V.I.” & “SCHMIDT & TROWE, Lith. Baltimore, MD.” The title of the print is simply “CAMP of the 196th REGT O.V.I.” CONDITION: the lithograph shows minor foxing but no notable fading. There is a small 2 1/2” tear at the base that appears to be repaired on the reverse. The lithograph has not been examined out of the frame. This full ink Frank Lloyd Wright autograph is on Taliesin West stationary measuring approx. 8 1/2" x 11”. The printed area of the stationary reads “TALIESIN WEST PARADISE...more VALLEY, ARIZONA”. The body of the letter addresses a Mr. McBean who was contracting for a home at Taliesin West. The letter is boldly signed “Frank Lloyd Wright” and dated “May 14TH, 1958”. Also included is a color pamphlet from Taliesin West. CONDITION: letter shows folding from being in an envelope. Otherwise, condition is solid with clear typing and exceptionally clear signature. This lot contains 1 white buff leather belt, likely of English origin, with a snake buckle closure. / 1 US M1832 sword and partial scabbard. The sword measures 20” overal...morel with a severely cut-down 14” blade. The hilt has had the rivets removed and the pommel damaged by peening. The original scabbard has only 14” of its length remaining; however, the white buff frog is present. / 1 Post-Civil War leather cartridge box. / 1 Over-the-shoulder leather shot pouch. CONDITION: the belt is generally in solid condition with minimal staining. The sword should be considered a relic with a dark, pitted blade and misshaped hilt. The cartridge box and shot pouch show heavy wear with losses. (02-22415/BF). $200-400.
