Double crown/U proof is present on the cylinder & frame. Metal components are in white, with the frame being mounted with smooth 2-piece wood grips. CONDITION: metal components exhibit mild pitting overall, with some small scattered spots of darker discoloration. Dark, pitted bore. Cassaignard was active from 1708 to ...more1786 and made pistols for the French Navy. Iron hammer & frizzen. Silver-plated sideplate, trigger guard, wrist decoration, & grip cap. Lock is functional when hand-cycled. Hardwood stock w/ hardwood ramrod secured by a silver thimble and a pipe. Stock has decorative floral carving, and the bottom of the grip cap has decoration. CONDITION: stock has an older added finish with a crack at the front right edge, scattered chips, dings, & handling wear. Brass parts appear cleaned with scattered scratches, dings, & oxidation. Iron parts have a dull gray patina w/ scattered oxidation. Silver-plated parts appear cleaned w/ dings, scratches, some oxidation, & some pitting. Cal. 45. NSN. Bbl. 5 5/8". Percussion pistol mfg. circa. 1840. Lockplate is marked "A.W. SPIES/ WARRANTED" and features floral engraving, which is also present at the bre...moreech end of the heavy octagonal smoothbore damascus bbl., on the bbl. tang, as well as on the trigger guard. Checkered wood stock features a German silver hinged grip cap, escutcheon inscribed "PB" on the wrist, as well as a German silver inlay of 2 birds on the left. German silver trigger guard, wedge escutcheon, nose cap, and ramrod ferrules. Buttstock has been revarnished at one time, and exhibits a repair on the right side of the bbl. tang that runs along the top of the lockplate. CONDITION: iron components exhibit a mottled gray patina, with a few scattered spots of light pitting overall. German silver components have dulled some with age, but otherwise are very good overall. Stock exhibits some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, exhibiting some minor chipping and the aforementioned repair around the lockplate. 1) British Tower Model 1858 Percussion Pistol. Cal. 577. NSN. Bbl. 8 3/8" with semi-circular front and V-notch rear sight. The left side of the bbl. has broad arrow marks...more with "1B," "B," and "11," and the top flat is marked "GB." Lock plate has a crown over "V.R" behind the hammer and "1858 / Tower" forward of the hammer. Wedge fastened walnut stock with brass fittings has an iron loop at the butt. Button-tipped swivel ramrod. CONDITION: metal has a faded gray appearance with scattered light pitting. Stock is sanded and refinished. Lightly pitted bore. Sound lock. (01-25134/DS). ANTIQUE. 2) Belgian Boxlock Side-by-Side Percussion Pistol. Cal. 40. NSN. Bbl. 3 1/2" with smooth bores. Engraved boxlock action. Bag-type walnut grip. CONDITION: metal has a gray-brown appearance with light pitting. The action top does not fit tightly. The left hammer will not hold in the cocked position. Pitted bores. Grips show chips around the action with scratches & marks. (01-25137/DS). ANTIQUE. 3) Belgian Screw Barrel Flintlock Pistol. Cal. 40. NSN. Bbl. 1 5/8" round with a smooth bore. Engraved boxlock action with a center-mounted hammer. Bag-type walnut grip. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a light brown, showing spots of corrosion. Functioning lock with a stiff trigger pull. Pitted bore. Grips have worn with a lifted finish, with small cracks at the action. (01-25138/DS). ANTIQUE. 4) Harcourt / Ipswich Screw Barrel Flintlock Pistol. Cal. 44. NSN. Bbl. 1 1/2" with a smooth bore. Lightly engraved boxlock action with a center-mounted hammer. Bag-type walnut grip. CONDITION: metal has a cleaned gray appearance. Lock will not fire properly. KETLAND LOCK TRADE MUSKET.

Cal. 66. NSN. Bbl. 40 1/8". Flintlock fowler or trade musket, likely produced in England. The lockplate is marked "KETLAND / & Co" under the pan. The round barrel feature...mores a faceted breech that is marked "LONDON" on the top flat, with "TK" between two British crowned crossed swords on the left quarter flat. The full-length wood stock features a brass buttplate, sideplate, trigger guard, escutcheon plate, entry thimble, and ramrod thimble. Buttplate, sideplate, trigger guard, and escutcheon plate exhibit light foliate & linear engraving. German silver blade front sight with brass square notch rear sight. Improper brass-tipped wooden ramrod displays well. CONDITION: all iron has a dark overall patina. Brass has a pleasing mustard patina. Stock has a small crack between the trigger guard and the rear of the lock. Lock may not be original to this gun but is the correct period and fits reasonably well. Fair bore. ASSEMBLED AMERICAN LATE 1830s MUSKET.

Cal. 70. NSN. Bbl. 42”. This musket is a very interesting and well-made assembled musket. The US Military barrel is proofed near the breech “US”, “LS”, “US”, and “P” (in ...moreserrated depressed oval). The English lock is marked under the pan “LONDON WARRANTED”. The lock & cock have similar engraved decoration. The trigger guard, buttplate, escutcheon plate, nosecap, entry thimble, and ramrod thimbles are all brass. The iron ramrod is original and of the period. The stock has wide crosshatching at the wrist. CONDITION: the barrel has a dark, overall mottled patina with a lack of patina around the muzzle, likely due to a bayonet that was attached to the musket. Lock also has a dark patina and holds both full & half cock. Brass has a pleasing deep mustard patina. The stock shows normal handling wear and has a 2 1/2" crack at the front of the lock. Fair to good bore. (01-25180/BF). $400-700.

Lockplate exhibits some light scroll engraving, with a scene of 2 birds engraved on the left side of the plate. Full length wood stock features a German silver oval escutcheon on the wrist, with a German silver inlay present on the cheek rest. Brass buttplate, patchbox, trigger guard, ramrod ferrules, and nose cap. Wrist exhibits a break that has been reinforced with a brass band. Metal components have been cleaned at one time, with the stock having been sanded and revarnished. CONDITION: iron components exhibit a mottled gray patina, with corrosion present on the lockplate and on the bbl. around the percussion bolster. Brass components are very good, as previously cleaned, exhibiting some scattered handling marks overall. Stock exhibits some scattered marks from handling and storage, exhibiting a couple small cracks and chips, as well as the aforementioned repair at the wrist. Most Bedford guns were made as percussion in the mid 19th century...more, with this rifle originally being flint and converted in the mid 19th century. Attractive, curly, maple full stock, having long profile locks, with a reverse “Q” patch box finial, a characteristic Bedford feature. CONDITION: good to very good, overall. Complete and original, with repaired crack in forestock. Brass cleaned & toned to light mustard patina, with dark iron patina overall. Mechanics are good, including set triggers. Good, rifled bore. Brightly finished locks hav...moree gold-plated inlaid borders with serpent hammers and gold-plated inlaid eyes. 14-kt. gold-plated fittings consist of acorn finial trigger plates, trigger guards, trapdoor buttcaps, sideplate escutcheons, wedge escutcheons, and shields on the wrists. Locks, hammers, and fittings have a generous coverage of vine-type foliate scroll ornamentation. Stocks of fine English walnut have gloss finishes and hand checkering. A limited edition of 100 pairs was mfg. in 1978 only. The last issue price was $2,700. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: leather-bound book display box with a red velour-fitted interior. The box contains a powder flask, a short starter, an ebony-handled nipple wrench, an ebony-handled turnscrew, and a single-cavity bullet mold. Also included are loading and firing instructions, a packing slip, and a drawing of a gambler and his lady with a steamboat in the background. GUN 1: S# G5A. CONDITION: near excellent, showing light muzzle & edge wear on the bbl.; appears to be unfired. Near-excellent bore. GUN 2: S# G5B. CONDITION: near excellent; appears unfired. Top of bbl. is marked with Colt's New York address, with the left side of th...moree frame being marked "COLTS/ PATENT. Cyl. (with oval guide grooves) is engraved with Colt's Ranger & Indian Fight scene. Frame and hammer exhibit a case color hardened finish with the cyl., bbl., and bbl. wedge exhibiting a blue finish. Brass trigger guard and rear grip strap exhibit a silver plated finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece smooth wood grip. All numbers are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl., bbl. wedge, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. CONDITION: frame retains bountiful amounts of its vibrant case coloring, exhibiting some light to mild superficial handling marks overall. Bbl. and cyl. exhibit some light wear, and some superficial handling marks. Rear grip strap retains traces of its silver plated finish, with the trigger guard's silver plating exhibiting some bubbling and flaking overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grip shows some flaking to its varnish finish, as well as a few scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (01-25051/MLW).
