1) SITTING BULL. An 18 3/4" x 25 3/4” framed poster from the Amon Carter Museum of Fort Worth, TX. The poster depicts a well-known view of Sitting Bull, or Tata’nka I’Yot...morea’nka, taken by David F. Barry around 1886. CONDITION: only handling wear. 2) TWO MOONS. A 13” x 16” framed photograph taken in 1901 of the Northern Cheyenne war Chief Two Moons on the Custer Battlefield. The photograph was taken on the 25th anniversary of the Custer Massacre at Little Bighorn. There are enumerable gravestones visible in the photograph. CONDITION: very light wear overall. 3) 3 MAIDENS. A 20 1/4" x 12” framed photograph by Herman Schnitzmeyer, taken in 1916. The scene depicts 3 Native American maidens, likely of the Pend d’Oreilles Tribe of the Northwest Plateau, in traditional Plains dress, on the rocks overlooking a raging river. 2 PAIRS OF EARLY 20th CENTURY COWBOY SPURS.

1) An interesting pair of early 20th century spurs with stamped decoration on the outside of the spur as worn. Each rowel has two jingles mounted on the outside. There is...more a chain connecting the ends of the spur, and the original floral -decorated tooled leather backs are present with their associated buckles. CONDITION: spurs have a pleasing gray patina. Leather is a bit flaked but solid. 2) A nice pair of early to mid-20th century spurs with wriggle work decoration on the outside as worn. Rowels have no jingle, and the leather backs & under straps are plain. CONDITION: spurs show light wear overall, and leather remains quite strong. (02-22407/BF). $200-400.

Francisco." Also included is a 7" x 9" framed color lithograph that reads "Native Californians Lassoing a Bear," showing a grizzly bear attacking mounted mountain men. There are also 18 individually packaged 12" x 17" and 17" x 24" woodblock engravings of Civil War scenes from the 1895 publication "Frank Leslie's Illustrated Civil War." & GOLD PAN. Framed 9" x 4.25" exposed under mat 1868 Wells Fargo, Virginia City, N. T. exchange document for $100 gold coin, endorsed by Mrs. Charlene Gould. Interesting ...morethat these Wells Fargo exchange documents were preprinted with Nevada territory, even though Nevada had been a state three years previous, this must have been a rarely used form. Iconic 12" diameter gold pan was displayed under document, but no attribution known. Pan has lots of character. CONDITION: document appears very good with a couple noticeable cracks or tears, text and signatures all excellent, not removed from frame, gold pan has numerous small dents and dings from use, rusty and stained. The images, in larger frames, measure about 21" x 16". George Catlin (1796–1872) traveled to the west to paint scenes and portraits of Native Americans. These two original paintings, made in the 1830s, feature Paterson colts. The guns have since been upgraded to dragoons and 1855 revolving rifles. A FASCINATING FOLK ART CARVED STORAGE HORN OF

Lot # 3217 (Sale Order: 222 of 487)      

POSSIBLE SPANISH ORIGIN. This horn measures approx. 14" x 4” at the butt. The narrow end is closed with a cork-like material, and the butt also likely closed with a cork-...morelike material that is now missing. Carved decoration on the horn includes a horse and a rider wearing what could be interpreted to be a sombrero, a horned bull with a neck sash, initials, foliate decoration, and more. There is an iron cleat at the spout for attachment to a leather strap, and the opposite end is threaded through the horn with a leather thong. CONDITION: the horn generally shows light to moderate wear with minor deterioration of the cork end that is present. The leather carrying strap is a bit dry but remains solid. The engraving generally remains quite clear and easily discerned. (02-22461/BF). $500-800.

AN INTERESTING FOLK ART CARVED STORAGE HORN OF

POSSIBLE SPANISH ORIGIN. This horn measures approx. 10 1/2" x 4” at the butt. Both ends are closed with a cork-like material; the narrow end being permanent and the butt ...morebeing removable. Carved figures on the horn include a soldier smoking a cigar and a soldier holding a cavalry lance. There is a panel that reads “VIVA ELPA”. The horn also has foliate motifs, birds, a topless female figure, and geometric decorations. There is an iron cleat at the spout for attachment to a leather suspension strap, and the opposite end is threaded through the horn with a leather thong. CONDITION: the horn generally shows light wear with some deterioration of the cork ends. The leather carrying strap is a bit dry but remains solid. The engraving generally remains quite clear and easily discerned. (02-22462/BF). $400-600.

Cal. 11mm. S# 11351. Bbl. 6 3/8". Single action pinfire revolver mfg. by Lefaucheux in Paris, France. The top of the bbl. is marked "INVON E. LEFAUCHEUX BRTE PARIS", with...more a similar marking present on the left side of the frame. Right side of frame is marked "G. 100". Metal components have been cleaned and exhibit a gray patina. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood grips. Bead front sight with hammer notched rear sight. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a gray patina, with light to mild pitting present overall. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of dark oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grip exhibits some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (01-25035/MLW). ANTIQUE. $250-350.
