Black polymer pistol grip buttstock and handguard. Matching numbers are present on the bolt, magazine cover, and trigger guard. Bolt carrier and receiver cover are unnumbered. Bolt is mismatched. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching importer box containing a cleaning rod, black nylon sling, and plastic oiler. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their matte black finish, exhibiting a few superficial handling marks, as well as some very light wear on the bolt carrier from cycling of the action. Mirror chrome-lined bore, exhibiting grease while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Stock is excellent overall. 1940 DATED MAUSER BANNER COMMERCIAL LUGER.

Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 6320w. Standard configuration PO8 with 4" barrel, "1940"-marked receiver, eagle "N" proofs, and matching S#'s except grips and magazine. Beechwood grip...mores are numbered "27", and the magazine is marked "MADE IN DENMARK" on the aluminum base plug. MAG: 1–8 rd., not matching. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: very fine brown leather holster by C. Weiss with "WaA 750" marking and "1940" date, which contains a takedown tool. CONDITION: fair. Metal showing considerable refinishing and subsequent cleaning to a mix of gray and blue. A considerable amount of pitting is evident on the barrel and frame. The stock lug is removed. Grips are considerably worn. Bore is good, lightly pitted. Trigger lever has been welded to improve trigger pull. Holster is very fine, with some scratches. Stitching is very fine. Top of the bbl. ex...moretension is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg. "42," with Mauser Eagle/135 acceptance proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "byf" mfg. code. Metal components have been heavily cleaned and are in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, save for the grips and wood bottom mag. Front sight blade has been ground down. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components have been heavily cleaned and remain "in the white," exhibiting mild to moderate degrees of pitting and scattered spots of age-related discoloration overall. Bbl. extension exhibits a grievous crack that stems from the chamber and runs 3/8" vertically along the right side. While Section 23. of Poulin Auctions' Terms & Conditions states that it is strongly recommended that any firearm be inspected by a competent gunsmith prior to firing, the cataloger would like to state that this particular firearm should not be fired for any reason due to this crack, as catastrophic failure is likely to occur. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent moderate pitting while retaining good rifling throughout. Right grip panel exhibits heavy smoothing, with the left panel exhibiting large impressions at the center of the grip and a loss at the upper right corner, to the rear of the safety lever. Rear toggle axle pin appears to be a replacement. MAGS: 2 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked with a "cxb/ 41" mfg. code and date above an Eagle/WaA727 acceptance proof (indicating mfg. by Moll, Lederwarenfabrik, Goch, Rheinland) containing 1 spare mag. and 1 unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some superficial marks from handling and storage, with oxidation present on the stock lug. Right side of the bbl., bbl. extension, and left side of the breechblock exhibit an Imperial German Reichsadler. Major metal components exhibit a rust-blue finish overall, with some smaller components exhibiting a strawed or nitre-blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, save for the sideplate, grips, and wood bottom mag., which are mismatched. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: major metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with areas of mild pitting present overall. Strawed components exhibit wear and thinning overall, with the balance retaining a mottled gray patina and scattered spots of age-related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit a few marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. A nice shooter-grade example of a 1914 production DWM P.08 Luger. The top of the bbl. ex...moretension is marked "1918", with the right side exhibiting Crown/RC above 1 crowned Erfurt proof, followed by 2 blank crowns, indicating that this bbl. extension was mfg. as an armorer's replacement. Toggle is marked with a crown over "ERFURT". Bbl. is a later Mauser replacement. Ejector is marked with later but illegible proof. Frame has been refinished and subsequently heavily cleaned at one time. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Right grip screw is a brass replacement. Matching numbers "03" are present on the sideplate (in the hidden commercial fashion), as well as on the front and rear toggles. Remaining components are unnumbered or mismatched. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain poor to good amounts of their original or reapplied blue finishes, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to gray and brown patinas, with moderate pitting present primarily on the frame, toggle train, and sideplate. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent mild pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, bbl., and rear toggle link. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: very good to excellent as refinished, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their reapplied finish overall, exhibiting some scattered superficial handling marks as well as some scattered small spots of pitting beneath the finish overall. Right side of the slide has been polished and touched up at one time, with Mauser Eagle/135 acceptance proofs only partially visible. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece grooved black pressed resin grips. Lanyard loop on the left side of the frame is absent. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag. CONDITION: metal components retain poor to fair amounts of their arsenal blue finish, with the balance exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to gray patina, with some spots of pitting and mild surface oxidation present overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Metal components exhibit a blue finish, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Mag. has been stripped of its original finish and nickel-plated. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked with mfg. code "cww", followed by an Eagle/WaA392 acceptance proof, and "1943", indicating mfg. by Carl Weiss Lederwarenfabrik Brownschweig". Left sides of the slide exhibit standard markings, including Walthe...morer's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac/ 43". Metal components have been chrome plated at one time, with most markings remaining legible and mostly intact. Frame is mounted with 2-piece brown-pressed resin grips. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 2 blued 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster (appearing to be for a Browning Hi-Power pistol), marked with a mostly illegible mfg. marking on the interior, with a legible part of the marking reading "WINDELEN". CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied chrome-plated finish, exhibiting a few spots of flaking, some superficial handling marks, as well as a few spots of light pitting present beneath the finish. Bore is bright as refinished, exhibiting moderate pitting while retaining fair rifling throughout. Grips are very good overall, exhibiting some superficial marks from handling and storage.
