Blade front sight w/ hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. All visible matching numbers. Receiver top has Yugo crest & "M48A" marking. Blued finish. Hardwood stock set w/ left side sling provisions & leather sling. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: left rear of butt has outline of tape stripe, stock otherwise shows scattered dings & handling marks. Bolt appears cleaned bright. Safety not functioning & action is very sluggish both likely due to cosmoline on inside. Balance of metal retains 95-97% arsenal blue w/ scattered light handling & edge wear. Bright near excellent bore. (24-2016/MJC). 2. BRESCIA 91/38 TS CARCANO BOLT ACTION CARBINE. Cal 8mm Mauser. S# RA95502. Bbl. 17 3/4" w/ import marking. Blade front sight w/ added white paint. Receiver is stamped with Tula's star insignia over the cha...morember, with the Russian applied S# stamped on the left. Right side of receiver is marked with C.D.I. Swan importer mark and the importer applied S#. Metal components exhibit an arsenal reapplied blue finish, with the stock having also been revarnished at the time of arsenal refurbishment. Standard sights with early pattern muzzle brake. Matching arsenal numbers are present on the receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, trigger guard, and buttstock. Bolt and bolt carrier are electro-penciled to match. MAGS: 1 10-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some small superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Fair bore, exhibiting consistent scattered spots of dark pitting and retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood stock and handguard exhibit some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. FINNISH CIVIL GUARD M91-24 MOSIN NAGANT BOLT

ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7.62x54R. S# S8294. S# matches on receiver, bbl., and bolt. Bbl. 31 1/2". Import mark on the left side of the bbl. This interesting rifle is r...moreeferred to as the "Lotta" rifle. Part of the financing of these rifles was provided by the Civil Guards female auxiliary, the Lotta-Svard, hence the nickname. The bbl. of this rifle is stamped on the top over the chamber with the "S" civil guard crest with the three evergreen sprigs. These bbls. utilized Bohler-Stahl steel. This later production bbl. is the so-called step bbl., as the end was reduced in diameter to accept a bayonet. The bbl. is marked on the right side with two "star bursts" repair markings. The receiver retains traces of the imperial eagle, and the original civil guard number was lined out after 1944, when the guard was disbanded and the rifles were turned over to the Finnish Army. The bolt with its straight handle has a lined-out earlier S#. Interestingly, this rifle does not have the boxed "SA" property mark. Konovalov rear sight re-graduated to meters. Sight base is marked "M". The front sight blade is tall, "Finnish type without step". Hardwood stock step. Buttstock is Finnish mfg., utilizing the 2-piece construction in the toe area. Stock is not finger-jointed. Recoil bolt aligns with grasping grooves. Early style handguard with brass rivets retained by two clamping bbl. bands. Bands are retained by small screws to allow them to be left slightly loose. Cleaning rod is present. Sling slots are equipped with stirrup-type swivels. The screw on the right front escutcheon is not present. CONDITION: stock set has seen considerable service with the expected wear, staining, and handling marks. Circularly repaired knot on the right side of the butt. Notable gouges and abrasions in the comb and buttplate areas. A 2" crack ahead of the buttplate tang, a 1" crack behind the receiver tang, and a 1" crack ahead of the trigger guard. Metal retains 50% of its original blue finish, turning gray with wear and spots of light oxidation. Bore has strong lands but is turning dark in grooves. FINNISH MODEL 1927 TIKKAKOSKI MOSIN NAGANT

The Model 1927 Infantry rifle was the first maj...moreor improvement to the Model 1891 Russian Mosin Nagant used by Finland. Finland used the basic hexagon receiver action and rebuilt it into a more modern design. The rear sight is the Russian Konovalov model, which has an improved slide and sight notch, and the sights re-graduated from Arshins to meters. The blade front sight has distinctive protective ears, which gave the rifle the nickname "SPITZ". Bbl. is marked on top with the Tikkakoski "T" in the inverted triangle; it is also marked with a boxed "SA", indicating Finnish property, dated "1932," and also with "F" and the "D", indicating Type D ammunition. Straight bolt handle and Finnish type 2 stage trigger. The hardwood stock set has its typical Finnish features, with a two-piece finger-jointed forend. The two-piece buttstock construction and the recoil bolt are aligned with the grasping grooves. The upper band has the post-1934 "popsicle stick" reinforcing bars. Cleaning rod and bayonet bar are present. Flat lower band is retained by a screw. Stirrup-type sling swivels are set in escutcheon plates. CONDITION: stock set has very light wear and scattered handling marks. Metal retains a large degree of factory rework finish with light wear. There are a number of small dents on the right side of the bbl. near the receiver. Very good, shiny bore, with sharp lands. (24-1415/RW). CURIO. $400-600.

Bbl. is marked on top over chamber with arrow in star Tula Arsenal marking dated "1940". Marked with "D" for use with Type D ammunition. Round receiver, straight bolt handle, S# removed from floorplate. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Post front sight with protective hood. Cleaning rod is present. Hardwood stock set. Stock set with metal sling slots and stirrup swivels. Handguard made with brass end fittings. Bbl. bands retained by springs. Single stage trigger. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, staining, dents and scratches with loss of wood at receiver tang and around buttplate. Inletted repair at end of receiver tang. Notable filled crack on right side of grip. Metal has 60% worn original finish with spots of light oxidation and handling marks. Bore is shiny with light frosted appearance in grooves plus lightly worn lands. (24-1339/RW). 2) MODEL 1891/59. Cal. 7.62x54R. S# SHX9011. S# matches on receiver, bbl. bolt, buttplate and floorplate. Bbl. 20 1/4". This interesting rifle which was manufactured in Russia by Izhevsk as a Model 91/30 was modified in either Bulgaria or Czechoslovakia to this form resembling a M38 carbine. The stock and handguard were shortened. The original rear sight leaf had markings beyond 1,000 meters machined off plus the hooded post front sight was replaced on the bbl. Bbl. is marked on top over chamber with Izhevsk wreath and arrow in triangle. "1891/59" encircled "y" and squar arsenal rework marked with dividing line. The round receiver is import marked on the left side. Straight bolt handle. Hardwood stock set. Rear sling slot is unlined. Handguard with 2 bands retained by springs. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework finish with light wear and handling marks plus notable dent at wrist and on left side over magazine. Metal retains a very large degree of arsenal rework finish with light high point wear. Very good shiny bore. (24-1344/RW). ALL CURIO. $600-900.

Cal. 11mm Murata. S# 108072. Bbl. 32". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1500m. The cocking piece is numbered "76175"; other visible numbers are matching....more The receiver top has a fully intact mum. Left side of the receiver has Tokyo Arsenal markings. Hardwood stock with bottom-mounted sling swivels and repro sling. The rear band is loose. Cleaning rod is present. Right side of the butt has a Japanese roundel and "108" rack number. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Type 13 Murata bayonet with modern replacement scabbard. Bayonet does not fit Type 18 and has replacement hardwood grips with added varnish. The rear of the bayonet has a faint number with a kanji marking. Metal of the bayonet was cleaned, with scattered pitting and varnish overrun. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework finish with a large chip on the left side between bands, a few cracks on the forend, scattered chips, gouges, dings, and handling wear. Metal has a mostly dull gray patina with some pitting below the woodline, light scratches, and scattered oxidation. Good bore that is mostly bright but shows scattered oxidation and light pitting. SCARCE WWII JAPANESE TYPE "I" ITALIAN PRODUCED

BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# D4411. Bbl. 30 3/4". These contracted rifles were made by three different Italian factories for the Japanese Navy between 193...more8 and 1939. They were based on the Carcano action but were given Japanese features, including magazines, sights, and bayonet fittings. The rifles were not given prominent markings as to maker and model. This rifle features markings that appear to be "PB" under the bolt root and on the safety. The rear sight ladder has an "A" in a diamond at the inside top. The rear sight ladder is graduated to 2400 meters. Inverted "V" front sight. Straight bolt handle. Hardwood stock set with two-piece buttstock construction. CONDITION: Stock set has moderate wear, staining, and handling marks. The stock seam is notably open on the left side. There is a small loss of wood in the toe area. The metal retains approx. 50% of its original blue, turning patina with areas of light oxidation. Fair, worn bore, turning dark. (24-1425/RW). CURIO. $300-400.

Matching numbers on receiver, bbl., bayonet lug, bolt, bolt head, trigge...morer guard, and rear sight parts. Russo-Japanese War-era tube-fed bolt-action repeating rifle. The receiver top has a fully intact mum. Left side of the receiver has Toyko Arsenal markings. Checkered hardwood stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels. Early-type front band with bayonet lug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: dummy 8mm Murata round made using a Winchester 303 British case, Type 22 Murata bayonet, and replacement child's training scabbard. Blade shows some light chipping. Bayonet & scabbard have an overall dull gray patina with scattered oxidation. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework finish with a small crack at the front of the handguard, a few chips, gouges, scattered dings, and handling wear. Metal is mostly a dull brown patina with some notable pitting on the trigger guard, scattered oxidation, and traces of blue. Bore shows some pitting but strong rifling. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S#6623. Bbl. 31 1/2". Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400m. The Japanese arsenal at Jinsen (present-day Inchon) was ...morethe lowest production maker of the Type 38 rifle, with an estimated 12,000 rifles made. Receiver top has ground mum with Type 38 markings. Left side rail has the serial number and proper 30th series marking. Matching serial numbers on the bolt handle, floorplate, and safety. Matching assembly numbers on the extractor and bolt release. Dust cover is mismatched. Other parts appear unnumbered. Blued finish with strawed small parts. Two-piece Asian hardwood stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels. Bottom of the wrist has a strong Jinsen Kanji inspection stamp. An in-the-white cleaning rod is present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Jinsen made a Type 30 bayonet with a hooked quillon and scabbard. Scabbard has a bend with a crack about 1/3 down from the tip. CONDITION: stock set shows some staining, scattered dings, and handling wear. Strawed parts retain a high degree of original finish with some light oxidation. Balance of metal retains 92% original blue with cosmoline present in action, scattered light fading, and light edge wear. Very good-plus, bright bore. PROVENANCE: the collection of Curtis H. Hardwood stock set with 2-piece buttstock construction. CONDITION: stock set has a well-worn, arsenal-rework-type finish with wear, staining, and numerous handling marks. Missing chips at the buttplate and receiver tangs. Loss of wood around the upper band and retaining spring. Metal has traces of blue, turning patina with wear and areas of oxidation, plus shallow pitting. Rear sight base has small dents along the wood line. Butt swivel has one missing screw. Left side of the receiver is marked with Kokur...morea Arsenal interlocking circles. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. Inverted V front sight with protective ears. Bolt handle with oval knob. Checkered small tang safety knob. Cleaning rod is present. Upper band with bayonet lug. Side swivels. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock with a 2-piece construction. Stock has two inletted silver-colored coins. One on the right side of the buttstock is marked "50 SEN". The second is on the right side of the stock above the trigger and has a man's silhouette plus oriental characters. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework-type finish with added finish over wear, staining, and handling marks. There is a notable loss of wood around the upper and lower tangs. INTERESTING JAPANESE TYPE 38 ARISAKA BOLT ACTION

CARBINE. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 1114842. Bbl. 19". Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Interesting Type 38 Arisaka carbine that was re...moreworked by the Chinese with an unusual number scheme. Matching serial numbers are present on the bayonet lug, rear band, rear sight parts, bolt handle, safety, firing pin, and floorplate. The dust cover is mismatched, and other visible parts appear unnumbered. The receiver top has a fully intact mum and Type 38 markings. Right side of the receiver has the Kokura/Tokyo Arsenal symbol and serial number. One-piece Asian hardwood stock with bottom-mounted sling swivels & leather sling. The left-side sling swivels are also present. A replacement cleaning rod is present. Right side of the butt has a Chinese inscription that appears to talk about the Battle of West Hunan in 1945, where Nationalist Chinese forces defeated the last major Japanese offensive of the war. The translation states that five battalions of the Japanese 116th Division were annihilated by the Chinese 51st Division. The inscription states that Captain Jones made a great contribution to the fight, and the carbine was presented by the commander of the 51st Division to Captain Jones on May 25th, 1945. The consignor states that this carbine was presented to an American advisor, and it is likely that Captain Jones was the advisor. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brass muzzle cover. CONDITION: stock set has an added finish with notable cracks on the left side of the butt and some long handguard cracks. Stock set otherwise shows scattered dings, scratches, and handling wear. Dust cover is turning gray with scattered oxidation and pitting. Balance of metal retains 40% of its arsenal blue with overall fading to brown, some pitting, and scattered oxidation.
