These rifles were converted for the Navy at Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. by the installation of a new barrel supplied by Springfield Armory originally manufactured in the correct caliber to eliminate the unsuccessful bushing. The white plastic spacer which attaches to the bullet guide is present. Locking bar aperture rear sight with "battle range" elevation knob. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA". Milled trigger guard. Single slot gas cylinder lock screw. Birch stock set. Buttstock marked only with partial "crossed cannons" on left side and faint "P" proof under grip. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: hang tag with matching S#. CONDITION: stock set has a lightly worn arsenal rework finish with scattered handling marks. Metal has a large amount of its original finish with light wear. The bushing appears to be the second type using a fine thread in an attempt by the arsenal to keep the bushing in place. The receiver retains its additional markings. The white plastic spacer is installed. The data sheet states that the rear of the receiver has been annealed. T105E1 aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA" except the milled trigger guard is "WRA". Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked only with tiny "crossed cannons" at the end of grip. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gary Anderson dated 2004. CMP data sheet, listing markings and supplying condition data. Also included is CMP manual, green web sling, 8rd clip and open bolt indicator. Matching cardboard shipping box. All major parts markings except receiver are "SA".Walnut stock set. Buttstock markings are obscure but appear to be boxed "SA/NFR crossed cannons". Two encircled "P" proofs under and at end of grip. Butt has white painted markings on both sides "A/1-159/102". UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: CMP Certificate of Authenticity signed By Gary Anderson dated 2004. CMP data sheet,Web sling, manual, 8 rd. clip and open bolt indicator. Matching cardboard shipping box. Milled, smooth buttplate has been given the stippling common to the Marine Corps issue. Milled upper band. Buttstock is a straight grip S-type with grasping grooves and two recoil bolts. The M1903- A3 handguard has been modified by sanding on the top contour. The stock markings are faint due to an arsenal rework finish. Vintage green web sling. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 15 3/4" fullered blade Model 1942 bayonet marked on the left ricasso "U.F.H. US (flaming bomb) "1943." Ribbed plastic grips. DESIREABLE US WWII REMINGTON MODEL 1903-A4 BOLT

ACTION SNIPER RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S#3414681. Bbl. 24". Marked behind front sight mounting slots "RA / flaming bomb / 6-43". This interesting rifle was given an arsenal ove...morerhaul as evidenced by the "X ing out of the "3" on the receiver markings with a "4" suffix added. The metal was re-Parkerized accounting for the difference in finish wear between wood and metal. There is no evidence of a front sight being fitted. The one piece base with the correct rear bevel is marked "REDFIELD" on the right rear. The front of the base has three steel shims. The 330 Weaver scope with 3/4" blued steel tube has a crosshair reticle and flat top adjustment knobs. The scope is marked near the knobs "MODEL 330 / PATS. PEND. / W.R. WEAVER CO. / EL PASO T.X. U.S.A.". It is marked faintly in electro-pencil on the right rear "TELESCOPE M73B1 / SERIAL NO. 6790". The rings are Parkerized steel. Correct Remington bolt assembly with clearance for scope. All stamped furniture including fine checkered trap buttplate and small bow trigger guard. Scant grip walnut stock set marked "K" in cutoff recess. The stock has the correct cut out for the bolt handle. Marked on the left side "RA / crossed cannons / FJA". Encircled "P" proof under grip. Assembly marks are prominent ahead of trigger guard. Brown Leather sling marked "BOYT 42". CONDITION: stock set has light wear and handling marks and has had a light coat of added finish at an early date. The metal retains most of its arsenal rework finish with light high point wear. The scope has 90% of its original blue with scattered small spots of oxidation. Receiver has the correct offset markings and is fitted with a Redfield one piece base which holds an " M73B1" scope. 3/4" blued steel tube. Crosshair reticle. Scope is marked near knobs "TELESCOPE M73B1 / PATD.-PATS. PEND. / W.R. WEAVER CO. / EL PASO TEX. U.S.A.". marked on right SERIAL NO. and S# 24067 in electro-pencil ". Scope rings are blued steel. Correct Remington bolt assembly. All stamped furniture including fine checkered buttplate and large bow trigger guard. Replacement walnut stock set. Full pistol grip stock with two recoil bolts, marked only with "K" in cutoff recess. Stock has correct style cut out for bolt handle. 1918 dated Model 1907 sling. Sling is well worn with cracking. CONDITION: stock set in near excellent condition with only small scattered handling marks. Metal retains 90% of its original mix of Blue and Parkerized finishes with very light wear. SCARCE U.S. WWII REMINGTON MODEL 03-4A BOLT

ACTION SNIPER RIFLE.. Cal. 30-06. S# 3414707. Bbl. 24". Marked near muzzle "RA / flaming bomb / 9 43". The rifle has the correct offset markings to accommodate the Redfie...moreld Jr. one piece scope base. The base carries a Weaver Model 330 3/4" tube 2.75 power telescopic sight with fine crosshair reticle. This telescopic sight has been given an electro pencil marking on the right side "TELESCOPE M73B1 / SERIAL NO 9774". The first 200 scopes assembled used this electro pencil marking as they were commercial production scopes. The bbl. was not fitted with a front sight which is a correct feature of these rifles. The scope base is marked "REDFIELD" on the right rear. The base is correctly tapered downward at the rear. Bolt has the correct handle to clear the scope and the relief cut in the stock and the bevel in the receiver for the bolt handle seat is correctly done. Walnut stock set with full pistol grip. Stock has 2 recoil bolts and is marked on the left side over trigger guard with faint "RA" cross cannons "FJA". The buttstock also has a boxed "RIA / EB" in the cheek area. Encircled "P" proof under grip and 5 assembly marks in front of trigger guard. All stamped furniture including large bow trigger guard has greenish parkerized finish. WWII vintage green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: rifle was given an arsenal rework finish on both wood and metal accounting for the Rock Island Arsenal marking. The edges of the cutoff recess and bolt handle clearance cut are softened but there is otherwise little loss of wood and the rifle has a visually attractive finish. The scope mount retains most of its gray green parkerizing. The scope tube retains a large degree of its original finish with sm. spots of missing finish and several small areas of light oxidation. Scope optics are slightly cloudy but appear serviceable. 2 Groove bore is shiny but edges of lands show moderate wear. PROVENANCE: from the Lifelong Collection of Jim Williams. (24-2707/RW). MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3070390. Bbl. 24" marked behind front sight "RA", flaming bomb, "3-42". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2850 yards. Blade front sight. Sheet...more metal sight protector stamped "R" "US". These rifles were mfg. by Remington using tooling from the Rock Island Arsenal. There were a series of minor changes made at Remington's suggestion to simplify mfg. Noticeable on this rifle is the rear sight base made without lightening cuts and the receiver tang is drilled through. The bolt has the early straight down handle. Both parts appear to be marked by a "4" on the cocking piece. Cutoff is marked "R". Milled trigger guard marked "R" on the right rear trigger guard bow. Rear sight parts and milled bbl. bands marked "R". Fine checkered stamped trap buttplate. Stock set is a replacement using the late production pistol grip type. Marked with boxed "RIA / FK" on the left side. Stock is marked "K" in cutoff recess. Partially encircled "P" proof under grip. Brown leather model 1907 sling with "1942" date. Nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has very good appearance with legible markings. Metal retains 80% vintage arsenal rework. Parkerized finish with light wear. RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3059285. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked behind the front sight "RA (flaming bomb) 12-41." These interesting rifles were made under contract by Remington...more using Rock Island Arsenal tooling leased from the government. This rifle is made with some of the cost-saving measures suggested to the Ordinance Department by Remington, including the elimination of the lightning cuts on the rear sight base and the through hole in the receiver tang. Markings are enhanced in white. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 2850 yards. All sight parts marked "R.". Blade front sight with 2-piece base marked "R.". Bolt assembly and cutoff marked "R.". All milled furniture with "R" markings. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is S-type with two recoil bolts, made without grasping grooves, marked at the forend tip "C" and flaming bomb. Marked on left side with "(crossed cannons) RA-P" and faint boxed "R L B." Encircled "P" proof under grip. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: M-1 bayonet with 9 3/4" fullered blade. Marked on left ricasso "A F H flaming bomb U S." Ribbed composite grips. Green plastic scabbard, metal throat has "flaming bomb US." Bayonet and scabbard have moderate wear and loss of finish. Crossguard is bent slightly rearward. CONDITION: stock set has moderately worn original finish with scattered handling marks. Metal retains 75% of its original finish with moderate wear.
