We have here, an original deluxe 1873 third model that has been masterfully brought back to life by Turnbull Restoration...more in what can only be described as a preservation of American firearms manufacturing history. Bbl. 24" octagon With Lyman flip up globe front sight & semi buckhorn rear. Lyman no. 1 tang sight. Color case hardened receiver, hammer, lever, forend cap & trap buttplate. Blued bbl. & full length mag tube. Single set trigger. Nitre blued loading gate. Checkered pistol grip ebony tipped buttstock & forend of select XXX walnut. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original 4 piece Winchester cleaning rod housed in butt trap. Turnbull Restoration invoice detailing work performed in February 2020 which, at that time, totaled nearly $5,000. Winchester Factory Letter stating the following: "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 38 / Barrel Type: Octagon / Trigger: Set / Checkered stock, Pistol grip / Casehardened / Received in warehouse on October 09, 1889 / Shipped from warehouse on June 19, 1890 Order number 13680." CONDITION: near excellent overall as professionally restored. Bore has lightly frosted appearance with sharp rifling. (01-25980/BH). ANTIQUE. $9,000-13,000.

UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 38 / Barrel Type: Octagon / Barrel Length: 20 inches / Trigger: Plain / Sights: Lyman rear / Casehardened / Received in warehouse on August 20, 1889 / Shipped from warehouse on August 21, 1889, Order number 554". CONDITION: rifle retains some dull blue in protected areas w/ balance fading to brown. Sanded wood has dark worn appearance w/ added wood repair right of top tang. Some action screws are replacement. RIFLE. Cal 38-40. S# 314770B. Bbl. 24" round with German silver blade front sight & elevator adjustable sporting rear. Mfg 1889 with full blue metal finish. Uncheckered w...morealnut straight grip stock & forend. CONDITION: metal retains traces of original blue finish in protected areas with balance displaying an overall brown patina along with areas of light to moderate pitting, notably at muzzle end of bbl. & mag tube. Bottom right side action screw appears replacement. Wood retains traces of original finish with scattered light scratches & dings. Receiver end of forend exhibits small wood losses on all sides. Dark bore retains intact rifling. Mechanically in need of attention as lifter does not drop when closing lever and must be manipulated manually. Trigger requires stronger than normal pressure to utilize. May just be in need of a cleaning but unable to verify for certain. Overall a nice of a well used, but not abused, Winchester 1873, "the gun that won the west". (01-25991/BH). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800

Full length band fastened forearm w/ steel nose cap. Straight grip walnut stock w/ steel carbine buttplate. Right side of stock has hand carved woodland scene w/ buck & doe deer. Left side of stock has hand-carved scene w/ running whitetail buck. Mfg. 1882. CONDITION: bbl. finish has faded to a light brown gray patina. Action has some blue in protected areas fading to gray brown. Wood shows dents, scratches & marks. Extractor is broken. Lightly pitted bore w/ worn rifling. (01-24831/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.

Walnut forend & straight...more grip stock w/ crescent steel trap door buttplate. Mfg. 1884. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: 4 piece cleaning rod held in stock compartment. CONDITION: Metal retains 25% dull blue fading to gray. Hammer & lever have some lightly visible case colors on their sides. Mag tube has 1 small dent. Wood has worn finish w/ dents & marks. Sound mechanics. Very good bore. (01-25985/DS). ANTIQUE. $2000-3000.
