RECEIVER. S# 9365. This stripped receiver was mfg. in March 1939 and was originally assembled as a gas trap rifle. Receiver has the correct "seventh round" modification. ...moreRight forward end of the receiver is marked "NB 2 D 28291". Receiver bridge and receiver bring both have punch proof marks. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of CMP invoice, dated "01/11/10" and a copy of CMP auction site bidding information. CONDITION: receiver retains approx. 70% of its original finish with moderate wear and scattered small spots of oxidation throughout. (24-5529/RW). MODERN. $500-700.

TWO U.S. M1 GARAND BARRELED RECEIVERS.

Lot # 1052 (Sale Order: 52 of 583)      

1) Cal. 7.62 NATO. S# 1839556. Bbl. 23 1/2". Muzzle gauges: less than one. Receiver with standard markings, additionally marked on the right side with drawing number "D 2...more8291 28". Receiver has bbl. installed, which is marked "SIAU 1968 MP". The bbl. is additionally marked on top, enhanced in red, "BP-D-35448". This bbl. was mfg. for Beretta by SIAU as part of a program to update M1 Garand rifles to 7.62 NATO. Bbl. has additional parts consisting of a gas cyl., stacking swivel, front sight, high-hump gas cyl. lock, and cross-slot gas cyl. lock screw. Receiver is completely stripped and has an arsenal-reworked greenish parkerization. CONDITION: bbl. has dark gray parkerizing and wear patterns indicative of previous use. Receiver has no appearance of use since the arsenal rework finish. Gas cyl. has notable wear and loss of finish. Bore shows very light wear with a slight appearance of frosting. (24-5541/RW). 2) Cal. 30-06. S# 4643982. Bbl. 24". International Harvester-marked receiver retains only the clip release. The bbl. is marked on the right side "SA2 45". Throat gauges: 6.0. Muzzle gauges: 4.0. Receiver has the two-toned annealed appearance. CONDITION: receiver has very light wear over its arsenal rework parkerization. There is notable pitting on the bottom where the receiver meets the wood. Butt appears to remain serviceable. There is a slightly oxidized appearance at the rear of the receiver as well. Bbl. shows signs of use with its worn, dark, parkerized finish. Bore with moderately worn lands turning dark in the grooves. (24-5542/RW). BOTH MODERN. $400-600.

REVOLVER. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 91311. Bbl. 5 1/2". U.S. Army Model of 1917 double action revolver mfg. by Smith & Wesson. Left side of the bbl. is marked "S&W D.A. 45," with "...moreUNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked on the underside. Left side of frame is marked with an eagle head over "S4", with an eagle head over "S23" present next to the assembly number on the interior of the frame. Butt is marked "U.S./ ARMY/ MODEL/ 1917" above the S#. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece aftermarket checkered wood grips. Lanyard loop on butt has been removed. Hammer has had several notches carved into it. Half-moon blade front sight, with frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., ejector, and bbl. Frame and cyl./cyl. crane fit is poor. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting scattered areas of pitting and a few spots of oxidation overall. Fair bore, exhibiting consistent pitting while retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show some minor marks and impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
