Smith & Wesson No. 2 Old Army .32 RF #27379

Lot # 284a (Sale Order: 376 of 741)      

Civil War era antique single action rimfire revolver, Smith & Wesson, based on serial numbers, sold somewhere between 29,359 (1864 cutoff date) and 48,475 (1865 cutoff date) during the war. Many soldiers privately purchased these to carry in battle. Manufactured 1861-1874. Features blued finish, smooth rosewood two piece grips, 6" octagon barrel, fixed sights, spur trigger, square butt, 6 shot unfluted cylinder, hinged frame tip-up action. Pin under cylinder is used with the removable cylinder ti extract shell casings. Bore is very good bright, strong rifling. frame and cylinder still have a lot of bright blue finish with many minor scratches, barrel has turned a dull gray patina from holster wear. Grips are very good. Action is smooth, lock up is tight. Markings are crisp/clear. Matching serial number is factory stamped on the underside of the right grip panel. Comes with a Hunter brown leather holster and two boxes of 0f Navy Arms .32 short rim-fire smokeless cartridges, one box contains 50 rds the other 15. .Condition is NRA Fine. Antique Firearm.

Revolver exhibits approximately 75% of its original blued finish showing holster wear , scratches. Features a reblued finish, 4" barrel, low-profile round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with u notch, two-line address/patent marking on the left side of the slide, smooth trigger, concealed hammer, thumb safety/slide catch on the left side of the frame, grip safety, heel magazine release, 8 round blued magazine, (Magazine has some scattered pitting) steel frame and two-piece hard rubber grips with molded "Colt" & Rampant Colt motifs. Bore is very good/bright. Pistol retains about 85% of old reblue finish, with some minor edge wear/scratches. There are a few very minor patches of light pin-prick pitting. Markings are mostly sharp, The Rampant Colt logo at rear of left side of slide is a little faint. Grips very good. Marked and correct Colt magazine.Condition is NRA Good/Refinished. C&R Firearm.

Hatfield Percussion Rifle .50 Cal NVSN

Some years back, Ted Hatfield began building a good reproduction Kentucky-style rifle down in St. Joseph, Missouri. The gun was a close copy of rifles built by his great-great-grandfather, Moses Hatfield. This is the same Hatfield family of the notorious Hatfield-McCoy feud from Kentucky and West Virginia. Full select curly maple stock with cheek rest, 32" octagonal barrel with German silver front sight blade, adjustable rear sporting sight, double set triggers, brass tipped ramrod, two cock hammer action works well. Bore looks very good, strong rifling, dusty. Slow twist barrel. stock is very good overall except it has two slivers of wood out on both sides of the tang. Well balanced.NRA Condition-Very Good. Antique Firearm.

Bolt-Action. Peruvian military issue. Manufactured in Germany by Mauser for contract with the Peruvian Government. Blued refinish, 29" barrel marked "S.J.G.". checkered ramp front sight base with barleycorn front sight, and "Ski-slope" tangent rear sight. Receiver ring stamped "Republica Del Peru" with national crest, and "Mauser Original". "Waffenfabrik Mauser-Oberndof a/n. and "Modelo 1909" in two lines on the receiver rail. Serial numbers mismatched. Polished bolt with straight bolt handle. "H" pattern front barrel band. Bore is good/bright. no cleaning rod present. Smooth, semi pistol grip stock is good with the usual minor scratches/dings. Blank brass disc inletted in the right buttstock. Action is crisp/tight bluing is 90% intact.NRA Condition-Good.
