German WW2 Service dress Tunic.

Lot # 214 (Sale Order: 283 of 741)      

High Quality, private purchase service dress tunic of a highly decorated "Oberfeldwebel" (Master Sergeant) of the cavalry or reconnaissance troops. Soft wool blend, very pointed dark green collar, deeply turned French collars, all features of fine tailoring. Pleated pockets, sewn in shoulder boards, golden yellow waffenfarbe with complete NCO tress and two pips denoting rank. Beautiful hand-embroidered bullion thread breast eagle, totally intact. Collar litzen also has golden yellow waffenfarbe, with NCO tress edges. All buttons are maker marked and retain most of the original green paint, all original stitching including the medal loops. Tunic is lined with a green satin material, sword hanger with pocket slit, Tailors label (Alfred Bemmann of Gera.) The inside pocket has the owners name and unit, in script, so hard to make out, but reads L. Frick, Unit, and ends in "92". There are no visible moth nips, although there are some under the collar. The tunic has the Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon and the Winter Battle in the East 1941–42 Medal (Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42), ribbon sewn in the second button hole. Attached to the left breast pocket on loops is the Iron Cross 1st Class, unmarked, original, the Wound Bade in silver, maker marked "107" in rectangle (Carl Wild, Hamburg) and the War Merit Cross with Swords, The medal is zinc alloy composition, retaining some spots of the silver finish. Fine detail The pin is marked with the LDO code of “4” in square. (Steinhauer & Luck.) There are loops above the pocket for small ribbon bar, which is empty. Consigner states he purchased this tunic many years ago at an estate sale with the medals attached and they are a perfect fit to the loops. One of the best conditioned German WW2 tunics weve had.

Springfield Armory offered several variations of the SAR-48 between 1985 and 1989: 21" heavy barrel with Flash hider/muzzle break, protected adjustable post front sight, sliding rear peep sight, folding integral bipod, carry handle, black wood ventilated hand guard, polymer pistol grip and buttstock with recoil pad“Israeli” 1005-SA-48 Match model. The Heavy Barrel SAR-48 was hung with the moniker “Israeli” for obvious reasons, it was constructed with Israeli military parts, including Israeli heavy barrel kits, mated to an IMBEL receiver. Under the receiver and forward of the magazine well is marked “IMBEL ITAJUBA BRAZIL”. The “Assault Weapons Ban” of 1994 hit the SAR-48. Original matte finish with virtually no finish loss to metal or wood parts. Slight handling marks only. Bore is excellent/bright Outstanding shooting platform. Correct green web sling attached. U.S. M1840 Cavalry Saber

M1840 heavy Calvary EM saber and scabbard. Non-regulation import, totally unmarked. Most likely from Solingen, Germany. Features a relatively straight wooden handle covered with a leather and wire grip,fully intact, a brass with three branches, and an unadorned rounded pommel cap and guard. The 36" steel blade has flat back with narrow and wide fuller stopped at the ricasso, typical of the pattern. The blade is in very good condition, bright with no nicks. Steel scabbard is dent free, has a molted gray finish. Original leather washer in place. A very good conditioned M1840. Also included in this lot is a quality reproduction Model 1840 Officers saber, 34" blade with narrow fuller, etched with "U.S., military trophies, American Eagle, etc. Phrygian helmet pommel and guard have oak leaf/scroll patterns in relief. Gold thread officers sword knot attached. Steel scabbard has brass plated fittings. Excellent condition.

This helmet features a infantry wappen (front plate) with the Bavarian coat of arms, over the kingdoms motto, In Treue Fest, German for "steadfast in loyalty." It also has correct kokarden (cockades) on both sides, blue/white Bavarian State kokarden and Reichs (black/red/white). Interior of the Pickelhaube is in very good condition, exhibiting moderate use. It has a correct brown leather liner, complete with securing tie on the top. The soldiers name is written in ink on the liner, (feint) the rear skirt is stamped in ink "I.R. 94"and below that "I.R. 18" stenciled in white paint, also has a manufacturers ink stamp rondel, though we cannot read it due to fading. The metal fittings have oxidized. It is common knowledge that many early helmets had the metal trim heavily oxidized due to exposure to Chlorine Gas. Overall very good condition.

Original Imperial German WWI Infantry M1915 EM/NCO Pickelhaube Helmet With Grand Duchy of Baden Wappen. Features an aged steel front plate (wappen) with the Crowned Heraldic Griffin clutching a sword and resting on the Baden state shield. Below this is the Grand Duchys motto: MIT GOTT F. FUERST U. VATERLAND (With God for Prince, or Grand Duke, and Fatherland). The crown of this leather helmet displays a vented enlisted removable spike mount on an oxidized steel base plate. The spike is in excellent condition. It also has the correct "vent" on the rear support spine of the helmet. The front leather visor has oxidized steel trim. The metal spine that descends from the spikes base plate to the edge of the rear visor is in good condition. The leather wrap on the helmet is near excellent with very little shrinkage. Yellow and red cockade at left, and a black, white and red cockade at right. The interior is fitted with a nine-fingered black leather liner with some flaking/tears The lacquered exterior shows no flaking. Antique single action revolver chambered in .44-40 Winchester, manufactured circa 1875-1889. Features a 7 1/2" round barrel, ejector rod with large webbed housing, pinched post front sight, u notched rear sight, fluted six-shot cylinder, smooth wide trigger, hammer with knurled spur & integral firing pin, monolithic frame/grip frame with lanyard ring on the butt and two-piece smooth wood grips. Bore retains traces of rifling, shows scattered light pitting. Revolver is in the white with some light brown patina with scattered areas of light pin-prick pitting, a couple of areas of deeper pitting on the upper right barrel. Markings are " E. Remington & Sons Ilion N.Y. U.S.A." on top of the barrel and "286" under the left grip. Grips are very good, good fit to frame. Action is smooth with good lock-up. The pinched front sight was used approximately from 1878-79.NRA Condition-Very Good. Antique Firearm.

Bore retains traces of rifling, shows scattered light pitting. Revolver is in the white with some light brown patina with scattered areas of light pin-prick pitting, a couple of areas of deeper pitting on the upper right barrel. Markings are " E. Remington & Sons Ilion N.Y. U.S.A." on top of the barrel and "286" under the left grip. Grips are very good, good fit to frame. Action is smooth with good lock-up. The pinched front sight was used approximately from 1878-79.NRA Condition-Very Good. Antique Firearm.

Features blued finish, checkered black hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt horse emblem, birds head grip frame, 2.5" barrel with ejector rod, fixed sights. Bore is fair to good, strong rifling, some scattered light pitting. Charge holes are very good condition. Blue is about 30% mostly on the backstrap, barrel and triggerguard, the frame a fairly even light gray color with traces of case colors visible. Grips are overall very good condition with a minor crack at the rear of the right panel, Rampant Colt,s are clear/crisp. .Single/double action operation is smooth, with tight lock-up. Numbers on triggerguard and back strap match frame. Two line barrel address. All markings are fairly crisp. 176 assembly number on the loading gate. No ejector, knurled cylinder pin. This is a Winchester 1894 carbine that has been restored and rechambered in a .44 wildcat cartridge, rear barrel flat re-stamped "44 LP" (Large Pistol Primer) The rifle comes with 3 reloading dies, 37 live rounds and a box of brass, the casings measure 2" in length and are various shortened 30-40 and .30 caliber marked. Eastern carbine with 18" octagonal barrel , full length tube magazine, blade front and Marbles sporting rear sights, smooth wood stock and forearm, vented recoil pad added marked "Wades Custom Guns Phoenix. Arizona" suggesting this work was done by him. Bore is excellent/bright, old reblue is about 98% with very minor scratches, refinished wood is overall very good/sound with the exception of a 3 1/2" hairline crack in the right forearm. Action is smooth. Manufactured 1909.NRA condition-Very Good as Restored. C&R firearm.
