Old Model. Old Model 3.5 inch part octagon part round barrel with front blade and notched hammer spur Manufactured in Chicopee Falls, Mass. from 1864-1886. Barrel has the two line marking with patent date of "Sept 6, 1864", barrel is a dull gray patina. The brass frame has lost most of the original nickel plate from handling showing a mellow brass patina. The original rosewood grips are good and are numbered to the gun, there is a narrow sliver out of the rear left panel. Frame under the left grip is also matching. The hammer does not cock, it is missing the main spring. The bore has rifling present, but has scattered pitting. First model with small barrel release head. Small circular sideplate. Rare .30 short R.F. caliber.NRA Condition-Fair/Mainspring. Antique Firearm.

Lanyard ring on heel. Cylinder protectors. Wartime matte black metal finish, with Black bakelite grips, with thumb rests, and brass disc inletted in right panel. Numerous British proofs. "Cal.38, and date of "42" on top of barrel. Cylinder stamped "J497. Right frame stamped "England" Action is crisp/tight. "Cavalry Carbine". second variation, with one hole for cleaning rod. Produced 1911-1942. Entered service in 1912, the 44th year of the Meiji reign, Type 44. Mostly intact Chrysanthemum with an X cut. Three Japanese characters on the chamber translate to "Type 44", Japanese military bolt action rifle features 19" barrel, protected blade front sight, V notch rear sight with flip-up elevator ladder, straight bolt handle, folding spike bayonet, butt compartment, side mounted sling swivels, manual safety, hinged floorplate. Hook located below the front sight on the right side, replicating the quillon of the type 30 bayonet for bayonet fencing techniques of the period, and for stacking. Mismatched serial numbers. Bore rough/frosted with rifling present. Retains about 70% dull blued finish, bottom metal has turned a brown patina, buttplate is missing the bottom screw and is a little proud of the wood. Wood is good condition with some small scrapes, scratches & dents, Observed markings are a little faint. NRA Condition-Good. C&R Firearm.

Erfurt Gew 98 8mm SN: 5424c

All matching German WW1 dated bolt action military battle rifle. Serial number is repeated on the stock, chamber, both barrel bands, floorplate, triggerguard, buttplate, rear sight, safety lever, bolt shroud and bolt. Chamber stamped "Erfurt 1907", Imperial German proofs/cartouches. Has most of the original blued finish, dulled over time, with the rest a molted gray. Stock is smooth and retains all the original German stampings, two minor repairs on the left side with what appears to be plastic wood. This is a fine looking example of the hard to find classic GEW 98 that armed German forces in the trenches during WWI. Comes with the original black leather sling which has broken at the top sling swivel. Bore is dark, rough with rifling present. Condition is NRA Good. C&R Firearm.
