.38 S&W SN: 863. Nickel finish Smith & Wesson revolvers were fitted with "S&W" monogrammed hard rubber grips. This model was made from 1877 to 1891 in a quantity of 108,255. SN 863 puts it at 1877-78. 3 1/4" barrel with pinned round blade, integral notch on the barrel latch, short extractor housing under the barrel. no trigger guard, top-break action. matching serial numbers on the heel, barrel latch and cylinder. Bore is very good bright, action is smooth, barrel locks-up tight, star extractor works well. Grips are very good/sound and the nickel finish is about 85% with some small areas of flaking and some scattered patches of light pin-prick pitting mostly in the cylinder flutes.NRA Condition-Fine. Antique Firearm.

Break-top, 6-shot fluted cylinder, 6" ribbed barrel with round blade front sight, integral notch rear sight in the barrel latch, hammer & trigger are case colored, two line address/patent dates on barrel rib. Checkered hard rubber grips with S&W motifs. Serial numbers matched on heel, cylinder and barrel latch. The reblue finish is about 98% with feint tracking on the cylinder, minor scratches, traces of case color on the trigger, hammer, action is smooth, barrel locks-up tight, star ejector works well, bore is bright with good rifling. scattered light pitting. 3rd Reich Police/SS sword blade & Scabbard.

"Alcosa Solingen" marked blade with trademark scaled. 31 1/4" straight, fullered blade is very good bright, no nicks. Original paint which shows some age or wear. This paint is about 85% intact with some scrapes and small chips, in addition to a lovely crazed and checked surface due to age. The lower scabbard mount has a decorative pattern of lines, and retains much of the the nickel plate. Both retaining screws are still present. The upper mount is in the "Wotans Knot" configuration, which is also nickel plated and has the retaining screws still present inside of the "knot" on both sides.

Straight pull. Barrel length is 28". "Triple thread, interrupted-screw, double bearing cam bolt", with the bolt head traveling horizontally. The front sight is a bladed post atop a raised base and under a protective hood. The rear sight is a “U” notched blade when down. It flips up to become a sight ladder that uses a screw adjustable “U” notched blade & aperture. Hinged brass trap door in butt. The top of the receiver is marked ROSS RIFLE CO. over CANADA over M-1910 over PATENTED. The top of the chamber is stamped .280 ROSS over PROOVED 28 TONS; MADE IN CANADA . Bore is ok, with strong rifling, dark frosting in the grooves. Metal finish is about 60% with handling/edge wear, scattered light patina Stock is very good with the usual scratches/dings. Markings are clear. NRA Condition-Good. C&R firearm.
