This bronze depicts a farmer leading his Shire draft horse to the traces of the days implement. It was completed in honor of the artists great grandfather who was killed in an accident involving a spooked team of horses, circa 1898.

Note: All of the clothing and horses tack are accurate depictions of items that would have been ordered through a mail order catalog of the period. (Minnesota Historical Society).
