Exquisite Custom 1939 Winchester Model 63 .22 LR Semi Automatic Rifle by Angelo Bee

Lot # 97 (Sale Order: 101 of 349)      

Manufactured in 1939. Features a 23" round blued barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear notch sight. Barrel stamped on left side "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL, MODEL 63, WINCHESTER PROOF MARK, .22 LONG R - SUPER SPEED & SUPER-X." Right side of barrel is stamped with the Winchester Patent. Barrel is stamped to the top left near the receiver "NOT ENGLISH MAKE" with British proof mark, indicating British Homeguard use during WWII. Scroll and floral engraving with punch dot background extends 2.25" from the receiver and 1.5" from the muzzle. Gold wire inlay on the muzzle tip and on base of the barrel near the receiver. Blued receiver has nearly full coverage engraving. Left side features a mountain lake scene with a gold eagle with talons out to catch a gold fish, surrounded by floral, scroll and punch dot background with a gold wire border. Signed "A. BEE" by master engraver Angelo Bee at the base of the mountain scene with his signature bumblebee logo. Top of the receiver features the Winchester proof marks in gold plus a vignette with two gold squirrels in a woodland scene, all surrounded by scroll, floral and punch dot background. Right side features a woodland scene showing a gold hawk with talons out to catch a rabbit, surrounded by floral, scroll and punch dot background with a gold wire border. Machine jeweled bolt and gold plated trigger. Bottom of receiver, bottom of trigger guard, take down screw and tang are engraved with the scroll, floral and punch dot background. The serial numbers on the bottom are highlighted in gold. Forend cap is blued with matching scroll, floral and punch dot background engraving. 2X American walnut stock and forend. Hand checkered at 20 LPI on the pistol grip and forend. Winchester Arms pistol grip cap. Blued metal buttplate with scroll, floral and punch dot background engraving on the heal and toe. Overall, this is an excellent example by one of the greatest master engravers of our time. CONDITION: Barrel and receiver retain 98% blue with only faint signs of handling use. Stock and forend are 98% condition with only faint signs of handling. Small ding in the bottom of the stock, approximately 1/2" x 1/8", and tiny dings on both sides of the rear of receiver where it joins the stock. Great bore and mechanics. CALIBER: .22 LR. Custom 1946 Winchester Model 62 Pump Action Rifle by Master Engraver Angelo Bee

Manufactured in 1946. Features a 23" round barrel topped with blade front and standard Winchester rear sight. Standard 14 round tubular magazine. Gold band inlay 1/8" from barrel tip. Double gold inlay bands, gold Winchester proof inlay plus floral and scroll engravings at the front of the barrel, extending 1.75" from receiver. Blued receiver with takedown screw. Signed "A. BEE" with typical bumble bee by master engraver Angelo Bee on the left side of the receiver. Approximately 96% coverage featuring a two-tone gold and silver embossed hawk attacking a rabbit on the right and a two-tone gold and silver embossed fox attacking a pair of rising quail on the left. Serial number on tang and bottom of receiver are both in gold. Remaining coverage is a floral and scroll engraving throughout. 2X walnut buttstock with 18 LPI hand checkering, fitted with Winchester hard rubber buttplate. Rare 1954 Winchester 62A .22 Short Gallery Pump Action Rifle & Original Factory Box

Manufactured in 1954. Features 23" round blued barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear. All standard Winchester barrel markings. 22 Short Only. Magazine tube has triangular shaped loading port for shorts only. Action is plain side 62 without the roll die Winchester mark. Winchester proof on top of the receiver is slightly turned toward 11. Foregrip is a one piece walnut corn cob style with 17 ribs. Buttstock is one piece walnut with hard rubber buttplate. Comes in a factory Winchester Model 60 cardboard box that does show wear. CONDITION: Barrel and receiver retain 99% blue. Gun appears to be assembled and actioned once. Walnut forend and buttstock are in 98% condition with a few marks, possibly from sliding in the box. 1956 Winchester Model 70 African Super Grade Bolt Action Rifle in .458 WIN Mag

Manufactured in 1956 during the "handmade years." Features a 24.5" blued tapered barrel with African sling swivel just forward of the ebony forend. Front ramp sight with express rear sight, missing hood on front. Standard Model 70 barrel markings and Winchester proof on the left. Receiver has a matte finish and shows standard Winchester trademark on left side and proof mark. Factory drilled and tapped with plug screws. Front top of the receiver is factory knurled. Jeweled bolt and follower. Bolt has a hand scribed serial number that matches the receiver. Factory correct floorplate marked Super Grade. Three position safety. Stock is standard Monte Carlo walnut Super Grade with moderate figure. Super Grade forend and pistol grip has hand checkering. Ebony forend tip. Blued metal pistol grip cap. Correct inset rear sling swivel stud. Right hand cheek piece. Factory Winchester red recoil pad with black spacer. CONDITION: Barrel retains 95% original blue with faint freckling. Receiver retains 98% blue. Most notable wear is on the high edges of the floorplate and the top portion of the knurled area of the receiver. Bolt shows moderate slide marks from use with handle graying. Stock retains 96% original finish, with moderate field use marks. Ding on the left bottom side of the ebony tip 1/8" x 1/8", and approximately 1/2" behind the ebony tip shows a 3/8" scuff, left side above the trigger shows two moderate scuff marks running up toward the bolt. Buttpad is missing the screw plugs and sling rings. Good bores and mechanics. CALIBER: .458 WIN Mag. S/N: 365671. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.

Receiver has been factory drilled and tapped. Factory three position safety. Standard factory machine cut checkering walnut stock with added Pachmayr white line pad. Non-Factory swivel studs. CONDITION: Blued barrel retains 90% finish. Front ramp sight is missing hood. Receiver retains 90% original matted blue. Original factory stock retains 85% varnish with light handling marks and scratches. Stock has possibly been cut for addition of non-factory pad. Checkering is sharp. The bore has frosting with visible rifling and good mechanics. CALIBER: .264 Win Mag. S/N: 521101. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.

Superb Engraved 1937 Winchester Model 21 Skeet 20 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun by Gino Cargnel

Cody Firearms Museum research documents this gun was manufactured in November 1937. Features 26" proof steel SxS barrel with slightly raised matted rib, marked for skeet WS1 and WS2, chambered for 2.75" shells, and both with ejectors. Breech ends present with 3" triangles of well cut scroll and gold bands. Typical blued action with non-automatic safety and Winchester single selective trigger. Gold inlaid "SKEET" where normally stamped. Action and other metal parts have been beautifully relief engraved with fields of large shaded scroll within gold wire scrolled borders. This fine engraving and wire inlay is counterpoint to exceptionally well rendered gold relief game birds. A covey of quail taking wing on left side of action and a pair of woodcock flushing on right. Trigger plate portrays a drumming ruffed grouse standing on tree limb with smaller branches as background. No signature is found, however per history of this shotgun, Angelo Bee has been contacted about this engraving and in his review of the work, he identified the master engraver as Gino Cargnel. Excellent feather crotch American walnut pistol grip buttstock. Unbraced beavertail ejector forend matches well, and is probably made from the same piece of wood as butt. Tan leather case with stitched leather corners. Case is lined in burgundy cloth with Winchester label in lid and contains cleaning equipment, snap caps, and oil bottle. Cody Firearms Museum Winchester letter is included. LOP: 14". DAC: 1.5". DAH: 2". CONDITION: Overall 98%, in excellent condition. Underside of both barrels show wear marks through the blue at the end of the forearm. Both right and left barrels show several areas of faint dings from field use. There are some rubs on side of trigger. Stock and forearm are in 98% condition with only handling marks. Nice bore and mechanics. Case is excellent. Firearm has been shot, however it has been extremely well cared for. CALIBER: 20 Gauge. S/N: 9210. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.

1964 Belgian Browning Superposed Continental Two Barrel Set w/ 20 Gauge O/U Shotgun & Double Rifle

Manufactured in 1964 in Belgium. Custom Superposed Continental with two barrels and superb engraving, signed "LB" by master engraver Louis Bleus. 24" blued round double rifle barrels chambered in .30-06 Springfield, fitted with quarter rib and QD scope mounts. Stunning Parker Brothers A1 Special Upgrade 20 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun by Angelo Bee

Originally manufactured by Parker Bros as a VH grade in 1901 and later upgraded to an A1 Special with straight grip. 26" solid rib blued SxS barrels and single bead front sight. Equipped with extractors, choked improved cylinder and modified and chambered for 2.75" shells. Engraving extends 3" from receiver. Right side features a gold embossed dove surrounded with scroll and punch dot engraving. Left barrel features a gold embossed quail surrounded by scroll and punch dot engraving. Gold wire band surrounds the barrels, 1/8" from receiver and 1/8" from the tip. Barrel ends have scroll and punch dot engraving that extends 1" from muzzle. Stamped "Parker Bros, Makers, Meriden, Conn. Vulcan Steel" on the rib. Receiver flats have been machine jeweled. Boxlock "0" receiver with non-automatic safety features A1 style engraving. Right side features three gold embossed doves. Left side has three gold embossed rising quails. All surrounded by scroll floral and punch dot pattern. Bottom features two gold embossed ducks landing. Gold plated double triggers and gold inlay "S" for safety. Trigger guard features one gold embossed duck rising from the water. Left side of the receiver has been signed "A.BEE" by Master Engraver Angelo Bee with his signature bumblebee. Beavertail forend and buttstock are heavily marbled 3X walnut. Both forend and European straight grip have fleur-de-lis hand checkering at 22 LPI. Both sides of the receiver have a hand checkered shield at 22 LPI. Forend release latch and pivot cap feature the same floral, scroll and punch dot engraving. Butt stock is checkered at 22 LPI. Exquisite work by Angelo Bee and is rarely encountered in this style. LOP: 14.5". DAC: 1.5". DAH: 2.5". CONDITION: Barrels retain 98% of reapplied blue. All stampings are crisp and clear. Receiver retains 98% reapplied coin finish with faint field use. Butt stock and forend retain 98% high gloss finish. Left side of the butt stock has two small dings behind the checkering, both 1/8" x 1/8" in size. Very faint field use marks along the top edge of the stock. Forend interior release latch has been machine jeweled. Good mirror bores and excellent mechanics. CALIBER: 20 Gauge. S/N: 103056. Custom Winchester Hi-Wall Target Rifle .30-40 KRAG Engraved & Signed by Angelo Bee

Manufactured in the early twentieth century, completely customized Winchester action rifle. Features a 28" blued octagon steel, approximately No 2 weight barrel with front target sight adjustable with spirit level. Drilled and tapped for rear sight, plug screws installed. The muzzle end features a gold inlay wrap-around line. Floral and scroll engraving extends 2.5" up the barrel from the receiver. 30-40 Caliber marked on the left side of the barrel in script. The right side of the receiver features a gold embossed fox hunting Gambrel's quail surrounded by floral and scroll engraving with punch dot background and gold wire inlay border. The left side is signed "A.BEE" with bumblebee by Master engraver Angelo Bee. Features a gold and white gold embossed bald eagle hunting a rabbit surrounded by floral and scroll engraving with a punch dot background and gold wire inlay border. Top of the receiver and along the lower tang feature floral and scroll engraving also with a punch dot background. The falling block is highly polished. Standard falling block lever is a case-hardened finish. The upper tang has a large adjustable vernier sight. Action has close-set Winchester style double-set triggers. Schutzen style buttstock and forend is tightly figured 2X walnut. Forend has an ebony insert at Schnabel tip, hand checkered with 22 LPI. Schutzen style case-hardened mount for palm rest. Butt stock pistol grip has fancy 22 LPI checkering. Cap of pistol grip has a dark walnut triangle inset. Right hand Schutzen style cheek piece. German silver plated Schutzen buttplate with similar scroll and floral engraving as receiver. Includes additional accessories: Winchester butt plate with attachment screws, and two additional finger lever case hardened levers. Comes in a fitted custom case with suede lining. CONDITION: Barrel retains 98% original blue with mint bore. The receiver retains 98% blue. Falling block lever retains 97% case hardening with light fading. Additional butt plates retain 98% fading case hardening. Butt stock and forend retain 98% original condition with bottom "belly" showing light to moderate use with three faint indentations.
