1937 Colt The Woodsman 1st Series .22LR Semi-Automatic Pistol

Lot # 51 (Sale Order: 51 of 349)      

Manufactured in 1937, this is the first series Woodsman. Features a 6.6" blued barrel, with "Kelly type" front sight and rear sight that is adjustable for windage. Left side panel of the barrel is stamped "THE WOODSMAN". The top of the barrel is stamped with the Colt Hartford address and patent number in two un-equal lines on the left side. The serial number is located on the front of the grip strap. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the legend "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt trademark before the serrations. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "P" assembler's mark above the Colt "VP/triangle" proof mark. Fitted with factory checkered wood grips. Includes a factory two-toned blued 10 round magazine marked "CAL. 22. COLT." on the base. CONDITION: Retains 75% original blue, graying at the muzzle, top of the slide, trigger guard and grip strap. Manufactured in 1967. All standard Colt Python markings. Features a 4" ventilated rib barrel with matte finish top rail and full length barrel underlug. Ramp front sight and rear adjustable notch. Six round fluted swing out cylinder. Blued serrated trigger and wide spur hammer with cross stich pattern. Blued finish has approximately 90% engraved coverage and signed by master engraver Jeff Flannery. Floral scroll engraving with punch dot background, signed in a cursive "F" on the left side of the frame just above the trigger. Gold wire inlay triangle on the left and right side of the barrel. Gold wire inlay border on both ends around the cylinder. Factory stag grip panels with gold tone Colt medallion. Comes in nice straight grain oak presentation case with fitted red lining and 12 round cartridge holders. CONDITION: Retains 98% with the cylinder release turning a plum color. Features a 2.5" ventilated rib barrel with full-length ejector shroud, front ramp sight with and rear adjustable notch sight. 90% engraved coverage in a deep relief floral scroll and crisscross pattern with a fine punch dot background. Signed under the grips "Engraved by M. Branham" and a "B" in center of a fish. Six round fluted swing out cylinder chambered in .357 Mag. Wide spur serrated hammer. Factory Colt stag grips with gold tone Colt medallion. Includes original factory paperwork and custom made presentation case with an old English "E" carved in the top center of the hinged lid. Interior lined in black satin and embroidered "Python" in gray. Includes Colt Archive Historian Letter dating shipment to Summer Feed & Hardware in Pleasure Ridge Park, KY in July of 1965. Exceptional Custom 1930 James Purdey & Sons Self-Opening 20 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun & Case

Manufactured in 1930 according to specifications from included Purdey History Certificate. Features 27" blued steel nitro proof SxS barrels choked tight cylinder right and modified left. Originally proofed with 2.5" chambers for 7/8 oz. loads, they were subsequently reproofed with 2.75" chambers and 950 BAR. The gun features cocking indicators and a non-selective single trigger within the right side rolled edge trigger guard. This is a wonderful double that has been engraved and gold inlaid by master engraver Marcello Pedini, featuring his signature on the base of the receiver. The engraving consists of a wonderful relief intertwined foliate scroll accented with over 100 small gold embossed blossoms and accents within the scroll. The sidelocks and belly of action feature large gold embossed sporting scenes with finely executed bulino engraved backgrounds. The right lock shows two large gold-embossed dogs pursuing a duck, the belly shows two dogs in a resting position and the left shows two dogs on shore with a duck taking flight from the water. The action is finished in a wonderful French gray which shows off the beautiful engravings. The forend metal is engraved in fine scroll with over forty small gold embossed accents. The barrels have a small wedge of scroll on the rib at breech, which also presents with twenty-two small gold inlaid accents around their circumference. Features a finely figured walnut stock and beavertail forend. Forend features finely engraved metal and approximately 40 gold accents. English style straight grip stock with checkering and carved teardrops behind sideplates. Checkered buttplate. The shotgun includes a maker marked leather covered case with Purdey factory label and another showing proofing and chamber data. Small bore English factory case side by sides are very rare, even from the Tier 1 manufacturers. This is a wonderful 1930 production Purdey with a fine custom upgrade by master engraver Marcello Pedini. LOP: 14-1/2". DAC: 1-7/8". DAH: 2-3/4". CONDITION: Barrels retain 98% re-blue finish. All factory stamping is sharp, clear and legible. Receiver is in 98% condition after custom upgrade with very faint handling marks on the bottom and high edges. Buttstock and forend are in 99% condition with very faint use marks from extremely light handling. CALIBER: 20 Gauge. S/N: 23750. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.

Early Double Signed 1926 Belgian Browning FN Trombone .22 Rifle by Master Engraver Angelo Bee

Very early Browning Trombone, manufactured in Belgium in 1926. 21.5" round blued barrel with front blade sight and standard rear Browning sight. Standard blued 11 round magazine tube. Gold inlay bands approximately 1/8" from the end of the barrel and 1/8" forward of the receiver. Engraved and double signed by master engraver Angelo Bee, the receiver has 95% coverage featuring incredible scenes of "Diana the Huntress." A tri-tone gold embossed scene on the right depicts Diana laying against a tree with her dog, a bow and quiver. The left presents with a similar tri-tone gold embossed scene showing Diana laying across her dog with bow in hand and quiver to her side. The top presents a two-tone gold embossed scene with Diana and bow, walking beside her dog, with quiver on her back. All scenes including floorplate and trigger guard are surrounded by floral and scroll engraving with punch dot background. Gold plate trigger. Forend and pistol grip buttstock are 2X walnut, both with skip line checkering at 20 LPI. Buttstock is fitted with an engraved metal buttplate and screws, both to match the receiver. An exceptional rifle, most likely attributed to Angelo Bee's early years. CONDITION: Barrel retains 98% blue finish. Receiver retains 98% coin finish. Buttstock and forend retain 98% original finish with very faint handling marks. Butt stock needs a little tightening. Frosted bore with visible rifling, good mechanics. CALIBER: .22 LR. S/N: 16229. Rare Factory Nickel Winchester 1866 Carbine Saddle Ring Lever Action Rifle in .44 RF - S/N 164540

Lot # 60 (Sale Order: 60 of 349)      

Received in warehouse on October 27, 1883. This factory nickel finish Model 1866 Winchester, Serial Number 164540, was shipped in Order #2603 on August 18, 1898 with its sister rifle, Serial Number 164514. Features a 20" round barrel with full length magazine tube, standard front blade sight and rear carbine sight. Barrel markings just behind the barrel band read "Winchester Repeating Arms, New Haven CT Kings-Improvement Patented March 29, 1866 Oct 1860." Barrel, magazine tube, barrel bands, and sights are all factory nickel finished. 1866 Fourth Model Saddle Ring action. Entire receiver, trigger, trigger guard, loading gate, saddle ring, bolt, hammer, lever and lever knob are all factory nickeled. Chambered in .44 Rimfire. Buttstock and forend are straight grain walnut with standard 1866 carbine dimensions. Forend extends 9" from the action. Buttstock is straight with a nickel buttplate and original factory cleaning rod housed in the buttstock. This condition and factory option are rarely available. Included letter from Cody Firearms Museum confirms all options and manufacture date. CONDITION: Overall the barrel, magazine tube, barrel rings retain 70% of the original nickel finish. Most of the wear is showing on the end of the muzzle and 6" of the bottom of the magazine tube. End of the barrel shows some nickel flaking, approximately 1/8" up to 1/2" from the muzzle. Both right and left side of the receiver retains 93% of the factory nickel except for heightened edges. Wear on the bolt in a 1" x 3/4" area. Faint saddle ring marks on the nickel with two faint flakes. The top of the tang, lower tang, trigger, hammer and lever retain 90%. Some light freckling on the edges of the trigger guard. Moderate edge wear in the nickel around the carrier block. Very good bore with no evidence of pitting. Forend retains 60% original finish with a ding on the left side, 3" in front of the receiver, approxiately 1/2" x 1/8", with light to moderate handling marks. Buttstock retains 70% original finish with a medium 1/2" x 1/8" half moon indentation from the saddle ring on the left side. Remainder of the stock has light handling marks. Buttplate retains 80% original nickel. Strong mechanics. CALIBER: .44 RF. S/N: 164540. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Rare Factory Nickel Winchester 1866 Carbine Saddle Ring Lever Action Rifle in .44 RF - S/N 164514

Received in warehouse on October 27, 1883. This factory nickel finish Model 1866 Winchester, Serial Number 164514, was shipped in Order #2603 on August 18, 1898 with its sister rifle, Serial Number 164540. Features a 20" round barrel with full length magazine tube, standard front blade sight and rear carbine sight. Barrel markings just behind the barrel band read "Winchester Repeating Arms, New Haven CT Kings-Improvement Patented March 29, 1866 Oct 1860." Barrel, magazine tube, barrel bands, and sights are all factory nickel finished. 1866 Fourth Model Saddle Ring action. Entire receiver, trigger, trigger guard, loading gate, saddle ring, bolt, hammer, lever and lever knob are all factory nickeled. Chambered in .44 Rimfire. Buttstock and forend are straight grain walnut with standard 1866 carbine dimensions. Forend extends 9" from the action. Buttstock is straight with a nickel buttplate and original factory cleaning rod housed in the buttstock. This condition and factory option are rarely available. Included letter from Cody Firearms Museum confirms all options and manufacture date. CONDITION: Overall the barrel, magazine tube, barrel rings and sights retain 60% of the original nickel finish. Most of the wear in the barrel is along the top between the rear sight and first barrel band. End of the barrel shows some nickel flaking 1/8" up to 1/2" from the muzzle. Both right and left side of the receiver retain 90% of the factory nickel except for heightened edges and a few spots. There is some flaking on the left side under the saddle ring. The top of the receiver, top of the tang, bolt and hammer retain 90% of the nickel except for high edge wear. Rear sight may be a replacement or refinished. The bottom of the action including the lower tang, trigger, and bottom of the receiver retains 80% original nickel with the 20% loss mostly around the carrier block. Good clean bore with some very light pits, much better than average for a rifle this age. 1980 Colt 1911 ACE .22 LR Semi-Automatic Pistol in Original Box

Lot # 71 (Sale Order: 71 of 349)      

Manufactured in 1980. Full size 1911 frame with 5" barrel, ACE chambered in .22 LR. Blued and matte finish. Blade front sight and rear windage adjustable notch sight. Left side of the slide is stamped "COLT SERVICE MODEL ACE (in diamond) .22 LONG RIFLE" with the rampant Colt trademark behind. Right side of frame is stamped COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A" with the serial number below. "ACE" in diamond stamped on the right side of slide. Barrel at the ejector port is stamped "Colt Cal .22 LR". Factory checkered walnut grip panels with gold tone Colt medallion. Includes factory 10 round magazine stamped "COLT .22 L.R." on the base. Comes in the original box with Colt paperwork. CONDITION: Overall this pistol Retains 98%+ condition with only very faint handling marks. Sharp checkering in the grips. Great bore and mechanics. Box does show some wear. CALIBER: .22 LR. 1978 Arkansas Special Edition 1 of 200 Colt Service Model 1911 ACE .22LR Semi-Automatic Pistol

Manufactured in 1978 and only 1 of 200 custom made ACE Arkansas Special Editions. Full size 1911 with 5" barrel in a bright blued finish with matte slide and frame. The left side of the slide is marked "COLT/SERVICE MODEL", with gold inlay "ACE" in diamond, ".22 LONG RIFLE" and the rampant Colt trademark. The right of the slide is marked "1 OF 200" in gold inlay and "ACE" in diamond. The right of the frame above the grip is marked "COLTÕS PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A./SM14685". The left of the trigger guard has an inspector mark "G" with the "VP triangle" proof mark. Blade front sight and rear adjustable notch sight. Integrated matte rib. Pewter finished trigger and stainless hammer. Grip panels are pewter with scroll engraving at their top and bottom. The left grip is embossed "ACE" in diamond over "1 OF 200". The insides are marked "LEFT" and "RIGHT" respectively. Back of the right panel is also marked "Designed Expressly For COLT FIREARMS CUSTOM SHOP by Sid Bell Ð Tully NY Õ78". Includes original blued factory 10 round magazine stamped "COLT/CAL 22" on the base. Comes in red lined custom wooden presentation case with brass plate featuring an engraved outline of the state of Arkansas around "ARKANSAS/ACE (in diamond) Special Edition/1 of 200". CONDITION: Overall appears to be in 98%+ condition with faint handling marks. Magazine does show some light wear. Good bores and mechanics. Case shows some faint scuffs and scratches.
