Texas Ranger Issued SIG Sauer Model P220 Semi-Automatic Pistol
Lot # 1951 (Sale Order: 952 of 1003)
This pistol was issued to Texas Ranger Sergeant C.J. "Buster" Collins in 1992 (blue property card and letter of verification included). The pistol was carried by Collins when he took part in a seven day standoff surrounding the Republic of Texas compound in the spring of 1997. The Republic of Texas organization was a militia-like group that believed that Texas had never officially been annexed into the U.S.A. and therefore remained an independent country. After kidnapping a couple of locals, Texas Rangers were called in to put a stop to the group, and after a week long standoff, assaulted the compound, forcing the groups members to surrender. The pistol shows standard markings and features and includes the original box and an extra magazine. Also included is a letter from Sergeant Collins stating that the pistol was in fact issued to him and that it was with him at the assault on the compound.

The grips frame is black anodized, and the remaining components are blue. The frame has the distinctive plum/red coloration found on early production Ruger revolvers. This coloration was so common in fact, that for a time Ruger would issue a disclaimer regarding the color in the boxes for new shipped revolvers. Rare Ruger Hawkeye Single Shot Target Pistol
Lot # 1967 (Sale Order: 968 of 1003)
Produced in 1962 and 1963 in response to public demand for small caliber, high velocity handguns, only 3,300 of these pistols were produced. Built on the frame and action of a Ruger flattop single action revolver, with a rotating breechblock in place of the cylinder. The top of the barrel is marked "RUGER HAWKEYE/WIN. .256 MAG. CAL.", and the top is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The receiver has the two line address on the left side, and the breechblock latch is on the left side of the breech. Ramped front and adjustable rear sights and smooth walnut grips with black eagle Ruger medallions.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original finish with some minor muzzle wear, a minor scuff on the upper left side of the frame and an area of touched up minor pitting on the upper left side of the breech block. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings and light handling marks.
Three Rare Ruger Corporation Hand Drills
Lot # 1968 (Sale Order: 969 of 1003)
These hand drills were manufactured by Bill Ruger c. 1946-19 before the successful launch of his firearms company with Alexander Sturm. These are popular with collectors as the forerunners of Ruger's popular pistols. Note that the shape of the handles on two of these drills is very similar to the Ruger Standard. The two pistol shaped drills both are marked "THE RUGER CORP/SOUTHPORT CONN. U.S.A./PATENTS PENDING," and the straight shaft model has no visible markings. One of the two pistol shaped drills has scrollwork patterns. The accompanying "The Ruger Collectors' Journal, Vol. 31 No. 3" is signed by John Dougan (dated 2018) and the consignor reports that the cover shot is the embellished drill offered in this lot, which according to the caption "is believed that RCA member Marty Kuykendall had this drill decorated about 30 years ago."
