1965 Triumph Tiger Cub.

Lot # 526 (Sale Order: 26 of 79)

* Everyone loves a Tiger Cub* A sought after 1965 example with matching numbers* Recently had a recommission and restoration. Starts and runs well * Lovely colour combination. a veritable 'Baby Bonneville'The 199cc T20 TRIUMPH TIGER CUB was introduced in March 1954 priced at £127 (a little over half the cost of a new Triumph 6T Thunderbird). It supplemented (and then superseded) the much loved but a tad underpowered 149cc T15 Terrier, the company's first post-war single. The T20 Tiger Cub brief was clear and straightforward. It was to be a small bike that filled a gap at the low end of the range but with big pretensions or more realistically, big aspirations. A four-stroke bike that could be an antidote to the fog of British two-strokes belching smoke at every set of traffic lights but, most importantly, a bike that capitalised on the appeal of Triumph's established muscle machines (the Speed Twin, Tiger 100 and Thunderbird), but with lightweight, commuter—and even boy racer—appeal. Some sixty years later with the benefit of hindsight, there is no doubt it succeeded. We understand from Tiger Cub aficionados that bikes from 1965 are the ones to have which is exactly what we have here. It has recently had a recommission and restoration which appears to have been carried out to a good standard and is smartly finished in Orange over Cream with a Black frame. In common with most Cubs of the period, things get swapped around. The side panels are missing but that's fairly normal, the headlight unit looks more Sports Cub, and the bars are quite high, possibly US spec or from an SR or SM but, essentially, the frame and engine numbers match,(TC2096989). The bike starts and runs well and the engine is quiet. It has only covered a small milage since the rebuild before sitting in the vendor's heated garage and having little use since. A cracking example of everyone's favourite bike from the early sixties.

GAS GAS TXT 'Boy 50'

Lot # 527 (Sale Order: 27 of 79)

* Two speed, 50cc, boy's off-roader* Currently a non-runner but it may not take a lot* Spanish, well-designed and quite 'cool'* Great project for a teenager Gas Gas is a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer specialising in off-road motorbikes. Formed in 1985, they are best known for their Trials bikes although they also make successful Enduro and Quad bikes. They have a wide range of products and have a great reputation for being competitive at International level. They produce a large range of bikes today and spares are readily available. This example is a GAS GAS 50cc boy's bike that has a two-speed transmission which can function as an automatic but has a clutch that can be used to learn the technique of changing gear. Dating from 2000, it was used regularly by the vendor's two sons until it suddenly stopped and was demoted to the back of the garage over 5 years ago. Naturally, it will require recommissioning but we understand that it does turn over with decent compression. Otherwise, it looks reasonably sound but it is "Sold as seen" and no warranty is given or implied.

1952 Velocette MAC Rigid frame.

Lot # 528 (Sale Order: 28 of 79)

* This charismatic old Velo has managed to escape restoration for 66 years* Runs and rides. Restore or use as it is* Essentially original with lots of character The first version of the Velocette MAC was launched in 1933 and was developed from the overhead valve Velocette MOV 250cc, which suffered from reliability problems. The single cylinder engine was enlarged to 349cc and could comfortably reach 75mph. The early MAC weighed 280lb and had 'girder' front forks. On the outbreak of the Second World War, military versions of the MAC(the WD) and the MAF were produced. The MAC (WD) had an upgraded clutch and the MAF had a new 'up-for-down' gear shift. The pressed-steel front brake drum was replaced by a cast-iron version which became standard for the later MAC. After the war, MAC production restarted and in 1948 the outdated girder forks were replaced with innovative air-sprung Dowty Oleomatic forks. This Velocette is a rare find, essentially original with a level of patina that is just so hard to find. It has amazingly survived 66 years without having a major restoration. The bike has character by the bucket full. The engine runs and will need a light recommissioning to return to its full former glory, however, we imagine that anyone in the market for a '52 MAC will know exactly what they are looking for.

Triton 650 Pre-Unit Café Racer

Lot # 529 (Sale Order: 29 of 79)

* Wideline Featherbed frame* Triumph 650cc 'pre-unit' twin with Amal 'Monoblocs'* Norton gearbox and dry clutch* Finished in Black with Gold coach-lines* Nicely finished Triton from a private collection It's all about the right man for the job. Stradivarius couldn't paint for toffee and Rembrandt was all fingers and thumbs when it came to assembling violins but, the other way around, that was a different story. The same applies to the Triton. During the sixties, Norton Motorcycles designed and built the 'Featherbed' frame. It was light and stiff and resulted in their bikes being the best handling at the time. The engines were efficient and well-designed but could be a touch 'agricultural'. On the other hand Triumph engines, particularly the 650cc parallel twin with twin carburettors and twin camshafts. were leaders in their field, smooth, quick and relatively vibration free. So it made a lot of sense to mix the two and produce a motorcycle combining the best elements of each marque and whilst you were at it, pop on a 'racing' tank, a single seat, a chrome headlight, matched speedo and tacho, rear-set rests and a pair of 'clip-ons'. Hey Presto- a Café Racer. A look that is as popular today as it was in 1965.Coming from a private collection this example is a fantastic bike. The frame is the very desirable 'wideline' as used on the competition Manx Nortons and it has been fitted with a Triumph 650 with the splayed head having twin Amal Monobloc carbs coupled to a Norton Gearbox with a dry clutch. The stance of the bike is perfect and it's clearly been well built. It does run and sounds awesome as it should, but will need the usual recommissioning prior to being used and enjoyed. The iconic Triton...more

1977 Montesa 247 Ulf Karlson Replica

Lot # 530 (Sale Order: 30 of 79)

* Becoming rare, the Cota 247 VUK* Starts and rides well. Some modifications. In need of detailing* Would make a fantastic trail bike or could be used in competition in the popular 'Twinshock' class. Montesa was formed in 1944 and although they produced many models of motorcycles and bicycles it wasn't until the 1960s and 70s that they enjoyed massive growth and some success with their competition motorcycles mainly in trials. They were available with many different engine sizes and won many national championships as well as the world title on a 247 in 1980 with Ulf Karlsson. In the Summer of 1975 a new version of its flagship, the Cota 247, named VUK ("Ulf Karlson Version") or Ulf Karlson Replica was introduced in honour of the talented Swedish rider. This version incorporated major technical and aesthetic improvements developed in collaboration with Karlson. This original 1977 Ulf Karlsson replica Cota 247 (VUK) starts and rides well. It has sensible modifications to footrests and a new 'Electric World' electronic ignition. It is in honest condition with period aluminium mudguards and the attractive tank/seat unit. The bike would make a fantastic trail bike or could be used in competition in the popular 'Twinshock' class.

Velocette Venom 500cc

Lot # 531 (Sale Order: 31 of 79)

* Velocette's class-leading single from the early sixties* From a small private collection* Rear-set rests, clip-ons, and chrome mudguards * Generally very good, just needs some light recommissioning Introduced in 1956 to replace the ageing MSS, the 500cc Venom and its little 350cc brother were logical developments of Velocette's touring singles. The Viper always lived in the shadow of the Venom which grew to become a true legend in its own lifetime as the definitive British sporting single after BSA and the venerable Gold Star had given up the fight for supremacy. Such was the popularity of the Venom its production continued until 1971 when Velocette went into liquidation.Velocette, whilst relatively small, was a great technical innovator and many of its patented designs are commonplace on motorcycles today, including the positive-stop foot change and swinging arm rear suspension with hydraulic dampers. This 500cc Venom appears to be in good clean condition, having been in a small collection for several years. It's been fitted with popular rear-set rests, clip-ons, and chrome mudguards giving it a slight 'café racer' feel. The paintwork and chrome are good and the whole bike looks very attractive. We understand it runs and rides smoothly with only light fettling (lights/set up etc) required to recommission completely.

1984 Yamaha TY250 'Monoshock'

Lot # 532 (Sale Order: 32 of 79)

* The first modern 'Trials' motorcycle* Talon front disc conversion* Some recent engine work* Good clean condition. Perfect for play or competition The trials world changed in 1984 when Yamaha introduced the new Monoshock TY250. Having no parts in common with the old 1974-designed TY, the new TY's centrally mounted shock, low seat and longer travel suspension revolutionized trials bike design. The other manufacturers leapt to follow suit, with other monoshock models coming out a year later. Yamaha didn't sponsor top riders but their new TY Monoshock bikes were very successful in club events. Renowned for the rideability and good build quality they soon were winning from club to national level and became the bike of choice. This c.1984 model is presented in clean condition ready to ride. It's had a little work done to the engine with new gaskets, seals, bearings, etc. and has a talon front disc conversion. The engine sounds really nice with no odd noises and runs and rides well. Overall, the bike is clean and has clearly been well cared for. It's not road registered but is perfect for play or competition.

1955 Jaguar XK140 FHC

Lot # 534 (Sale Order: 34 of 79)

* Original, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 140, first registered in Liverpool* Superbly restored around 5 years ago. Further recommissioning recently including conversion to wire wheels* At some point, it has been fitted with a more powerful 3.8-litre engine from an XK150* Fresh MOT, V5c, lots of invoices, Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate* Sporting the appropriate registration number '140 FLF' this is a really lovely classic 140The ever-popular Jaguar XK140 was introduced in October 1954 and remained in production until 1957. Rather than being an uncompromised sports car, the 140 was a much more comfortable and capable long distance machine than its predecessor the XK120. Upgrades included more interior space, improved brakes, rack and pinion steering, increased suspension travel, and telescopic shock absorbers and the styling was enhanced with a revised grille and larger bumpers along with new rear lights, which now incorporated the indicators. Available in Coupé, Drop Head Coupé or Roadster styles, the car was an immediate hit! Road going versions were powered by the Jaguar XK 3.4 litre engine with the Special Equipment modifications from the XK120, raising the specified power by 10bhp to 190bhp at 5500rpm, as standard. This particular XK140 is an original, right-hand drive, Fixed Head Coupé manufactured in 1955 and is one of only 842 right-hand drive, home market cars. It was first registered on June 11th, 1955 by Litherland Motors of Liverpool and sold to a Mr Thomas Melling of Southport finished in the classic combination of Old English White with contrasting red leather trim and red carpets. Around five years ago, prior to our vendor's purchase, the Jaguar was subject to an extensive overhaul and, body-off, respray by a leading marque specialist. According to the accompanying paperwork the work carried out included;Bodywork; doors, bonnet and boot lid re-fitted to produce excellent shut lines. Entire body fully prepared, primed and painted, including door shuts, engine bay and wheels. Brightwork polished and replaced where necessary. Body cavities wax injected and new body sealing rubbers fitted all around. Mechanicals; brakes serviced, gearbox rebuilt, oil & filters changed. Engine bay wiring fully overhauled. Cylinder block, head and radiator cleaned and painted. Cam covers and carburettor dash pots polished. Interior; Seats 're-Connollised' and the carpets cleaned. The account for this apparently totalled some £12,000.It should be noted that at some stage in the car's history a stronger, more powerful 3.8-litre engine from the later XK150 has been fitted. The expenditure has continued during our vendor's ownership and the car has been fitted with new stub-axles enabling the fitting of a set of chrome wire wheels, an engine tune and carb set-up and has covered only 400 since competion of the work. The car remains in excellent condition and is sold with a fresh MOT Certificate, its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, and the desirable registration number - '140 FLF'.This is a really lovely XK140, one of the nicest we have seen.

1961 MGA 1600 MKII Roadster

Lot # 535 (Sale Order: 35 of 79)

* Original UK-delivered, right-hand drive MKII 1622* Stunning restoration with fabulous attention to detail* Full mechanical overhaul and complete body rebuild to extremely high standards.* From a private collection and recently lightly used* A much-revered classic with good handling and decent performanceLaunching MG sports cars into the modern era, the new MGA was first seen in September of 1955 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The traditional upright styling of the T-series had been replaced with streamlined bodywork derived from a series of racing prototypes. Production of the MGA ran through to July 1962 with the 1600 MK11 being the final model variant. The MGA had been initially powered by a 1498cc version of the B-series engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. In 1959, MG released the 1600 model featuring a larger 1588cc engine, disc brakes up front and rigid framed side screens with sliding windows. This was followed up just two years later with the facelifted MKII. Considered by enthusiasts to be the best of the push-rod MGA's, the 1622cc unit with the 'big valve' head developed 90bhp and linked to the revised 4:1 rear axle could propel the car to a top speed of 105mph.Instantly recognisable by its recessed grille, the MKII MGA offers a fabulous blend of 1950's body-styling, predictable handling and superb performance. This desirable, final production MGA 1600 MKII Roadster has undergone an extensive 'nut and bolt' ground up restoration. The restoration included a full mechanical overhaul and complete body rebuild to extremely high standards. As a result, the Iris blue bodywork presents beautifully and, combined with the black leather seats piped in Iris Blue, this MGA must surely be one of the very best examples available. On offer from a private collection of equally well cared for motor cars, this MGA is said to have only covered a few miles on trips to visit the local MOT centre since its restoration. The car is naturally MOT exempt but there are some recent MOT Certificates in the Owner's File with the rest of the normal paperwork.Seriously pretty and quintessentially British, MGAs offer real driving pleasure on the open road and make great entries into local rallies and club events.

1987 Ford Capri 280 'Brooklands'

Lot # 536 (Sale Order: 36 of 79)

* The Capri's 'swan song' in that distinctive colour of Brooklands Green* Remarkable example in fabulous condition and owned by Mark Blundell* Only 12.800 miles indicated-fully documented. Cossetted all its days * Spent a period in dry storage and later recommissioned Great History File* "The car you always promised yourself". It's not too lateThe Capri 280 was the final limited edition run of the legendary Ford Coupé which had first appeared back in 1969. Ford originally intended to make 500 turbo-charged vehicles (by Turbo Technics) complete with gold alloy wheels but a change of production planning meant a name change to Capri 280. These cars featured a limited slip differential, a full leather Recaro interior, and 15-inch, seven-spoke alloy wheels to complement the 2.8 injected V6 engine. Just 1,038 were ever made and all were finished in Brooklands Green, resulting in them, inevitably becoming known as 'Brooklands Capris'.This superb car has covered just 12,800 miles and has undoubtedly been cosseted for its entire life. A time-warp car if ever there was one, this is a completely usable classic, and is presented to us in incredible condition. It has recently emerged from storage and comes complete with a superb history file detailing its ownership back to the 1980s when the car was laid up as a result of an injury to its owner at the time. In 2007, with an indicated mileage of just 8,820 miles, it was rescued from storage and recommissioned, including being painted, and the leather and wheels refurbished. The car then joined a couple of separate Ford collections before ultimately becoming the prized possession of its last keeper in 2009. Upon moving to South Africa, he took the car with him and it proudly sat amongst his small collection of special Fords in SA, naturally being regularly polished and admired. There are a number of invoices from that period covering mechanical attention and further documents detailing shipping, taxation in SA, and more. The Capri's owner's file also contains the original stamped service book, various handbooks, the sound system operating guide, as well as period brochures and photographs. The car will be freshly MOT'd before the sale.Finding a comparable Capri to this one is almost certainly a mission beyond most and, as a fantastic example of a particularly rare version of Ford's ground-breaking coupé, truly deserves to be amongst the collection of someone for whom only the best is good enough.

1965 Lotus Elan S2

Lot # 537 (Sale Order: 37 of 79)

* A much loved and well-maintained mid-sixties Elan* Superb history file dating back to the late 1980s* Rare early Series 2 example* Upgraded with the focus on drivability “To say that driving the Elan is immense fun is almost an understatement. It is a car which keeps young men young and makes old men younger “ "Motor"The Lotus Elan features a very strong steel backbone chassis on which is mounted, like a saddle, a GRP body. It has 4-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension all round. Power is delivered from the famous Lotus 1558cc Twin Cam engine through a Ford 4-speed gearbox to the rear wheels. This results in a compliant ride and very nimble handling characteristics. The Elan has enjoyed significant success in motorsport since the days it was launched and is evident in large numbers in historic racing. This early S2 Roadster has lived a busy life in the hands of its two enthusiastic owners since the late 1980s. Purchased by its previous owner in the mid-1980s, the car was subject to a complete overhaul which was finally completed in 1987 as is evident from the receipts in the extensive history file. Throughout his ownership, the car was very well maintained and constantly developed and we believe even used in some club racing events as is documented in the cars file. Acquired by our fanatic vendor in 2005, it has enjoyed a similar level of attention and care with regular maintenance and has been used for regular continental trips to the Le Mans Classic. A well-used example, the little Lotus presents in decent condition but, aesthetically, there are areas of paintwork that have suffered from slight stretching, typical of fibreglass bodied cars. This car represents the chance to acquire a rare early Lotus Elan that's eminently driveable and having been carefully enthusiast-maintained for years, is ready to hop in and drive down to your local, or maybe even Le Mans!

* One of just 640 'Works' built 100M 'Le Mans' Roadsters* Matching numbers and restored by renowned experts JME Healeys of Warwick in 2013* Restored to exacting standards to factory specification according to BMIHT certificate* Mille Miglia eligible with FIA papers until 31st December 2018* Discreet upgrades including an unleaded fuel conversion, Kenlowe fan, electronic ignition, and large core aluminium radiator* Offered from one of the leading private collections in the United KingdomThe 100M was a celebration of the company's Second and Third in Class finishes at Le Mans in 1953 and put Austin-Healey on the global map. The factory upgraded their standard production car by introducing a high-lift camshaft, larger carburettors, high-compression pistons, a free-flowing intake manifold, a cold air box and a unique distributor. Engine output increased by 20hp and the suspension received larger anti-roll bars, while a Le Mans-style leather strap secured the louvred bonnet.Factory production of the 100M lasted only from 5th September 1955 to 16th July 1956 with just 640 examples leaving the line. This works produced, 100M was equipped with overdrive and completed to 'Le Mans' specification before leaving Warwick on the 2nd May 1956 as certified by the car's British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. This matching numbers 100M is superbly finished in the original factory colours of Florida Green over Old English White with the original trim colour and mechanical specifications as confirmed by the accompanying Heritage Certificate. This fabulous Healey has been the subject of a comprehensive and fully detailed restoration during 2013 by JME Healeys of Warwick - one of the world's leading experts in and restorers of Austin Healey motor cars. Christopher Everard of JME Healeys offers the following statement within the documented restoration record that accompanies the vehicle:"As a Director of JME Healeys, I am delighted to fully authenticate this vehicle as an original factory built 100M and JME Healeys are proud to have completed the total restoration to the highest possible standards. I further confirm that all upgraded 100M components are correctly fitted to this vehicle as originally built by Austin Healey on 2nd May 1956.”The car is believed to have spent the whole of its life in dry, salt-free areas of Canada and the USA until it returned to the UK in 2012, at which point JME removed the cars original outer bodywork. The whole body was soda blasted and the chassis sandblasted to bare metal. At this stage, it was clear that the car was amazingly original and in exceptional condition as confirmed by JME on the 8th of May 2014. "There has clearly been no accident damage in the vehicles lifetime as witnessed by all the original metals and period welds. During the last 35 years, we have restored hundreds of Healeys, but we have rarely seen a chassis and body to be in such original condition, almost free of corrosion and perfectly in alignment. As such we have taken the opportunity to record measurements of the chassis for our future referencing.”The engine, still bearing its original plate number 1B/232164M, was stripped down and inspected by JME and was immediately identified as being the original 100M unit fitted from new. This engine showed little sign of wear and had obviously been lightly used over its lifetime. It maintained good oil pressure with the original (unground) crankshaft and the liners had been overbored once to +.030 and new non-100M spec pistons had been fitted, but there was water damage to just one pot. Under instruction from the vendor, a complete and thorough engine rebuild to precise 100M specification was undertaken by JME to include new standard size liners with new 100M pistons, and new valve guides, seats and springs. The crankshaft was re-ground and all new shells fitted to the big ends and main journals from std to .010. The crank was crack tested and rebalanced with the flywheel and a complete new clutch assembly fitted. The rebuild was completed with new Millers oil and filters, full test, drain and replacement of oil and filter, tightening of all mechanical fixings to correct torque settings and reset clearances. The result is an exceptionally strong engine. Some time was spent discussing the desirability of fitting upgrades to improve usability and eventually the decision was taken to enable the car to run on unleaded fuel and fit electronic ignition, a negative earth conversion, large-core aluminium radiator, a Kenlow fan, electric cut-out switch, and twin 12v socket supply. Further improvements include the fitting of halogen lamps within the original style headlamps for efficiency, a Dennis Welch steering box, competition front brake shoes, upgraded steering, radial tyres, and even Agriemach heat resistant matting fitted beneath the carpet for interior comfort and heat protection cementing this car's already impeachable credentials as a Mille Miglia or fas

1962 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

Lot # 539 (Sale Order: 39 of 79)

* One of the final batch of 190 SLs to be built and delivered new to the USA* Repatriated to Germany in 1990 and restored there in 2013* Showing 56,000 miles and presented in very good order* Special order period paint scheme, and rare teak door cappings* Fitted with Weber carburettors for "turn key" performance * Extensive restoration and parts receipts and copy Mercedes-Benz data cardThe 190SL, combined superb build quality with understated styling and a, not insignificant, 104bhp from the 1.9-litre, four-stroke engine. An instant hit, the three-pronged star sparkled among the gloom of post-war austerity. The 1955 launch of the 190SL cemented Mercedes-Benz's reputation as the car manufacturer for those who wanted elegance, build quality and a good turn of speed. Unsurprisingly, most of the 26,000 units were sold to the North American market. This particular left-hand drive 190SL, the 24,001st made, and among the last built, was shipped new from the Mercedes-Benz factory in Stuttgart to the United States on the 1st July 1962. The copy Mercedes-Benz data card enclosed in the extensive history file confirms the car was painted in the special order colour of 'Horizon'. The accompanying photographs confirm that the gearbox and engine numbers still match the data card, a remarkable feat after fifty-six years.According to the German registration documents, the car was to return to Stuttgart when Herr Walter Fink imported the car into Germany during 1990. The extensive restoration bills on file confirm many thousands of Deutschmarks were spent during the 1990s, with most of the receipts from Mercedes-Benz. Further works were to be carried out by established M-B restorers, Arthur Bechtel Classic Motors, totalling some 25,000EU in 2013. Sourced for our vendor by well-known specialists, Cheshire Classic Cars' direct from Germany in 2015, this pretty 190 SL joined one of the leading classic car collections in the UK and was stabled next door to its bigger brother, a 300 SL Roadster. The engine, upgraded to Weber carburettors, performs and sounds superbly, with the exhaust offering a throaty burble. The seats in dark blue leather, fitted with after-market seat belts, beautifully compliment the pale blue coachwork topped by a dark blue mohair hood. To this consignor's eye, the car presents very well, with just two small tears to the hood noticeable. Destined for fair weather 'top-down' cruising these blemishes are therefore largely immaterial and remain hidden beneath the butter soft leather tonneau.Presented to auction with an extensive history file illustrating its second lease of life in Europe for the past twenty-eight years, the car will be offered with a fresh MOT and its UK V5c. Silverstone Auctions has an enviable record in selling the very best 190 SLs and we have seen the market strengthen, year by year, for these charismatic sports cars.

2003 Ferrari 360 Modena

Lot # 540 (Sale Order: 40 of 79)

* Delightful 360 Modena in simply the best of health. Less than 35,000 miles* Original UK-supplied car in right-hand drive with the desirable 'F1' paddle-shift gearbox* in very good overall condition having been the cherished property of just one owner * Ten service stamps from HR Owen. Since then, a further £6,500+ has been invested in detailed maintenance* Just one-owner from new, and having covered modest mileage whilst being lavishly maintained…. The trifecta! In 1999, as a replacement for their much-admired F.355, Ferrari introduced the F.360 to critical acclaim and immediately set a new benchmark for supercar styling and performance. The 360 Modena design was revolutionary in making extensive use of lightweight materials in its construction resulting in a much lighter car along with increased rigidity whilst also improving the under-body aerodynamics using knowledge gained from their F1 programme. Introduced at the Geneva Show in March 1999, the 360 Modena, not unsurprisingly, swelled Ferrari's order books and within weeks there was a two-year waiting list. Consider us biased, but we think the Pininfarina design has stood the test of time wonderfully, and the sleek lines of the 360 still look fresh today. On offer here is a special 360 Modena Coupé, an original UK-supplied car in right-hand drive with the desirable 'F1' paddle-shift gearbox. Finished officially in Grey, the colour actually appears Silver/Blue in the metal with a complementing Blue leather interior, it's in very good overall condition having been the cherished property of just one owner, and covered fewer than 35,000 miles.Supplied by HR Owen of South Kensington in April 2003, it was looked after by them exclusively from delivery to 33,397 miles in April 2016 with no fewer than ten services during this period. Since then, a further £6,500+ has been invested with respected specialist sales and preparation outfit, Alexanders Prestige, to further secure this car's future by replacing all belts, including timing belt, diagnosing and curing oil leaks, replace the sump seal, replacing both upper ball joints, both lower ball joints and covers, lower dust covers, LAMDA sensors, NSF upper arm bushes, oil filter, strip front brakes and repair rad wiring, and to make good some unsightly stone-chipping to both lower sills and rear valance… the list goes on! Please make sufficient time to study all the accompanying documents if you wish to bid on this car. It really is worth it.Needless to say, now offered with a clean bill of health, a fresh MOT, and its official Ferrari leather-bound book pack, Ferrari torch, Owner's Manual and service book. This really is a most handsome and accomplished sports car with just one-owner from new, and having covered modest mileage whilst being lavishly maintained…. The trifecta!

1990 Ferrari 348 TB

Lot # 541 (Sale Order: 41 of 79)

* German supplied left-hand drive 348TB with less than 28,000 miles* Cambelt Serviced at QCV London only 1,700 miles ago. Good detailed history* Has original leather book pack, tools, German paperwork, V5c, and a fresh MOT* Ferrari owners are often fastidious but this car has really been cared forThe Ferrari 348 series marked a radical departure in the way Maranello constructed its cars, replacing as they did a chassis of traditional steel tubes with a much stiffer monocoque structure with a tubular rear subframe. Suspension remained independent front and rear with wishbones, springs, telescopic shocks, anti-roll bars, and revised geometry. The ventilated disc brakes were much larger than those of its predecessor, the Ferrari 328, and used anti-lock technology. A midship-mounted V8 returned, but it was larger and more powerful displacing 3405cc, mounted longitudinally and mated to a transverse gearbox. The displacement accounted for the new car's Ferrari 348 designation. The suffix TB came from the transverse gearbox and closed 'Berlinetta' body style. A higher compression ratio and updated fuel injection helped generate 300 horsepower, 30-40 more than the Ferrari 328, whilst a dry-sump oiling system gave the new Ferrari a lower centre of gravity. The 348 was the last design under the supervision of legendary chief stylist Leonardo Fioravanti, and a lot of the styling cues came from the Testarossa, particularly the side strakes, however, its forms were softer than those of the 328 but still curvaceous and with a longer wheelbase and wider track the interior had a bit more space. This very smart, left-hand drive Ferrari 348 TB was supplied new to a Herr Helmut Mander in Germany in 1990. Finished in Rosso with a black leather interior, the car was imported to the UK in 1998, when it had covered 23,219 km, by a Mr R. Derham of Earsham, who immediately sent it to respected marque specialists Italia Autosport where it received a full major service including a new cambelt generating an invoice totalling over £3,000. In August 2006, whilst in the ownership of a Mr D.Tempest, the speedometer was changed from a kilometre unit to a new Ferrari mph unit and the details of this head change are contained in an invoice from Pennine Automotive Engineering showing the car had at that time covered 40,378km.Our vendor purchased this Ferrari in June 2015 and sent it to trusted marque specialists QV London for a new cambelt and full service. Since then it has only been used in fair weather and totally pampered by our vendor. Now reading 2,478 miles on the odometer, giving a total mileage of 27,567 miles, the condition of the car would suggest this to be correct.Supplied with its leather book pack containing all the relevant literature, original tools, its German Fahrzeugbrief and TUV documents, and arriving at the sale with a fresh MOT, this sharp 348 TB is attractively estimated and is an excellent example of a model that is now getting the attention it deserves.

1989 Lancia Thema 8.32

Lot # 542 (Sale Order: 42 of 79)

* Dynamic little Lancia, used and enjoyed by its celebrity owner for the last seven years* Powered by the 32-valve V8 engine from the Ferrari 328* A real 'Q' car. 0-60 in 6.8 secs, max speed 150mph, light and nimble * Good history file with evidence of regular servicing and maintenance* Very rare, less than 20 in the UK-even fewer with the desirable velour interior* In addition, there is a spare set of wheels fitted with Snow Tyres* Prominently featured in the current (March 2018) edition of 'Classic Car' magazine First seen at the Turin show in 1986, Lancia's new Thema 8.32 featured the V8 32-valve engine from the Ferrari 328 which, with the four-door saloons comparatively light weight and nimble handling, resulted in an intoxicating cocktail offering 0-60mph in just 6.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 150mph. With a price tag in period of £40,000 new, and only available in left-hand drive, it was always going to be a niche market car in the UK. This particular car is owned by actor/comedian and renowned classic car enthusiast, Rowan Atkinson, and has been in his personal ownership for 7 years. During this time he has spent a considerable sum maintaining and improving the car with regular servicing and maintenance. The history file shows close to £20k in relevant bills on file.He chose this particular car partly because of its rarity, but and also because of its excellent overall condition and the fact that it had velour upholstery which Rowan much prefers to the standard leather finish. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time with the car and it now represents a real opportunity for the knowledgeable collector and enthusiast.Today, it is definitely a rarity with less than 20 cars currently registered and taxed according to the DVLA. It's featured in the March 2018 edition of Classic Car magazine with a full road test and appraisal which will be available from 24th Jan 2018. Offered at "No Reserve', it could well be the bargain of the Sale and we suggest a detailed inspection will reveal this car to be a particularly fine example of the marque.

1983 Lamborghini Jalpa

Lot # 543 (Sale Order: 43 of 79)

* The first UK, right-hand-drive Jalpa. Excellent provenance. 'FHA 80' is #12056 and dates from early 1983.* Six owners from new. Much work carried out by penultimate owner. Amazing history file* Purchased in 2013, our vendor has used the car lightly and the indicated mileage is now 85,500kms (53,437 miles)* Dry-stored by 'Topcats Racing' in Buckinghamshire who have undertaken all the service work.* Topcats will also carry out a complete service prior to sale and the car will come with a fresh MOT. Produced between 1982 and 1990 the Lamborghini Jalpa was the' junior' Lamborghini of the 1980s and was designed to rejoin the battle with Ferrari's similarly sized 308. Major changes included a quad-cam V8 engine with its capacity increased to 3.5 litres and somewhat more aggressive styling, mainly in the side treatment of the body, which was again conceived and executed by Bertone. However, the Jalpa was essentially a development of the earlier Uracco and Silhouette and remained a Targa-style two-seater with a carburettor-fed engine mounted transversely a five-speed transaxle, and fully independent suspension. Maximum power was 255bhp at 7000rpm, good enough to give the aerodynamic Jalpa a top speed of around 155mph. Production was both limited and sporadic, with a mere 419 examples manufactured over eight years.(34 in rhd). FHA 80 is Chassis Number 12056 and dates from early 1983. Production cars commenced with 12010 (earlier cars were either pre-production prototypes or destroyed in crash-testing) suggesting that this car is number 46 off the line, however, it is certainly one of the first two right-hand-drive cars and the first UK customer car as its (Silver) sister car (both left the factory on the same day) was the Portman Group's official demonstrator and press road-test car. It has Silhouette rear lights and a fuel filler inside the engine bay, all features common to an early car.Having been enjoyed by four owners, the Jalpa was purchased, with around 76,000kms indicated, in 2001 by its fifth custodian, a total Lamborghini enthusiast, who was to retain it until 2013. During the last few years of his ownership, the car was fully restored including fresh paint in its original Red with gun-metal grey bumpers and air-scoops as the original. The only deviation from factory finish was to paint the Targa top in body colour as he felt it looked better, fit a radio/cassette with a screen-mounted aerial, baby Vitaloni mirrors, and new Carello fog lights with covers. On its sale to our vendor, he passed on a remarkable history file which includes “ Bills, official club magazines, copies of paper documents from the original owner with the Lamborghini factory which includes letters to and from Ubaldo Sgarzi re the purchase of the new car, official Portman Lamborghini dealership documents and adverts, local press for the first owner, DVLA documents of previous owners and 80's club magazines with the car in, faxes, Telex from the factory, bills and UK Lamborghini club newsletters. Technical specs, old MoTs and many Tax discs”. Since his purchase in 2013, our vendor has used the car lightly and the indicated mileage is now 85,500kms ( 53,437 miles). He tells us that “The paintwork is not perfect, but very good and that he has spent money as required on the car, but always keeping it as original as possible. Aside from routine servicing, the car has benefited from – All new Engine MountsAll Carbs rebuilt with new gaskets / jets / floats etc.All suspension rebuilt – note this is rebuilt with new parts and NOT simply had gas inserts put in.New Springs all round of the same specNew Tyres all roundWhen not in use, the car has been dry-stored by 'Topcats Racing' in Buckinghamshire who have undertaken all the service work. Topcats will also carry out a complete service prior to sale and the car will come with a fresh MOT.Until quite recently, the Jalpa has been overlooked by classic car investors, however, their rarity and approachability have resulted in prices steadily rising over the last three years and this eminently drivable, original engine/gearbox, low-mileage example seems to represent an excellent opportunity.

1960 Lamborghini DL20 - 2241R

Lot # 544 (Sale Order: 44 of 79)

* Ferruccio Lamborghini sadly passed away in Perugia on February 20th, 1993 and his funeral took place a few days later on the 24th of February, which, coincidentally, if you are reading this at Race-Retro, was 25 years ago today.* The little twin-cylinder, 18hp DL20-2241R of 1960 was apparently Ferruccio's favourite tractor* The coffin was laid on a flower-bedecked cart pulled by, you guessed it, a DL20. L'ultimo onore - The ultimate honour* Recent full nut and bolt, 'Concours' standard restoration by Italian specialists Ermes & Nicola Formillan with photos* '3496A' is surely a must for any discerning Lamborghini collector or any collection of significant agricultural machinery It was Ferruccio Lamborghini's father who was indirectly responsible for the Lamborghini name becoming known throughout Italy. He urgently required a tractor for the family farm and his son, passionate about all things mechanical and a graduate in Industrial Technology at the Fratelli Taddia Institute near Bologna, obliged by building him one. It was an unlikely cocktail of six-cylinder Morris engine, General Motors transmission, and a Ford differential, however, apparently it worked very well and with post-war Italy rebuilding its agriculture from the ruins of war, replicas of Ferruccio's tractor were soon being eagerly sought by his father's friends. The outcome, in 1949, was the creation of Lamborghini Trattori on the site of his garage; the design evolved, the business thrived and it went on to become one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural equipment, military and industrial engines in Italy. During the early 1960s, Ferruccio Lamborghini turned his attention to building cars under his own name and subsequently details of Sig. Lamborghini's tractor production are usually just a side note to the stories surrounding the 400 GT, Miura, Countach and many of the most spectacular supercars in automotive history. The little twin-cylinder, 18hp DL20-2241R of 1960 was apparently Ferruccio's favourite tractor so it was appropriate that this model was selected to fulfil an important roll in Lamborghini's history. Ferruccio Lamborghini sadly passed away in Perugia on February 20th, 1993 and his funeral took place a few days later on the 24th of February, which, coincidentally, if you are reading this at Race-Retro, was 25 years ago today. Emotional crowds thronged the streets and the funeral cortege passed through a cordon of every model of Lamborghini car ever made and as many tractors as they could find. The coffin was laid on a flower-bedecked cart pulled by, you guessed it, a DL20.The tractor more recently has benefitted from a full nut and bolt, 'Concours' standard restoration by Italian specialists Ermes & Nicola Formillan, the most respected restorers of Lamborghini Trattori and whose efforts have graced most of the Lamborghini show stands all over the world. Presented with a photographic documentation of its restoration, it is currently unregistered and offered for sale with a NOVA number.'3496A' is surely a must for any discerning car collector and would make a distinctive and welcome addition to any collection of significant Lamborghinis or classic agricultural machinery.

1983 Lamborghini Countach LP500S

Lot # 545 (Sale Order: 45 of 79)

* Fabulous LP500S, one of only 25 or possibly fewer,* The holder of 12 British Outright Speed records in 1983, Details in the Owner's file* In June 2016 the car was treated to a glass-out /trim-out respray.* In stunning condition having been spared no expense during the last four years* Detailed invoices in the car's history file, with its fresh MOT Certificate, magazine articles, manuals, and service records In 1966, Lamborghini defined the 'supercar' with the Miura. An instant icon, the mid-engine high-velocity coupe put the nascent carmaker on the map for their groundbreaking design and performance. The legendary Miura was always going to be a hard act to follow, so the extent to which its successor eclipsed the greatest of 1960s supercars came as something of a shock to all. The sensation of the 1971 Geneva Salon was the Countach, which like its predecessor, was styled by Bertone's Marcello Gandini. Drawing from his revolutionary Lancia Stratos Zero concept from the year before, Gandini designed the Countach as an angular wedge with crisp lines and dramatic angles. The production version would not be seen for another two years, with deliveries commencing in 1974.Lamborghini employed the Miura's fantastic four-cam V12 engine for the Countach, mounted longitudinally behind the cabin. To achieve optimum weight distribution, designer Paolo Stanzani placed the five-speed gearbox ahead of the engine between the seats, and the differential – driven by a shaft passing through the sump – at the rear. The result was a delightful gear change and a better-balanced car than the Miura. When production began in 1974, the Countach sported an improved spaceframe chassis and the standard 4.0-liter, instead of the prototype's 5.0-liter, engine. Even with the smaller engine producing 'only' 370bhp, the lightweight Countach could attain 170mph and, as one would expect, offered incredible road holding and manoeuvrability. The first upgrades appeared in 1978 as the 'LP400S', with the addition of flared wheel arches to accommodate massive 345mm rear tires for increased grip and stability. A large rear aerofoil became available that further accentuated the outrageous styling of the Countach and was, unsurprisingly, the choice of most customers. The Countach's potentially largest market - the USA - remained closed to it until the arrival of the 'emissions friendly' LP500S in 1982. Although no more powerful than before, the newcomer's 4,754cc engine brought with it a useful increase in torque. The final development saw the engine enlarged to 5,167cc and new 'four-valves-per-cylinder' heads adopted for the Countach Quattrovalvole in 1985, the latter's 300km/h (186mph) top speed making it, at the time, the world's fastest car. This is a rare, right-hand drive, UK-delivered LP500S, only 25 of which were made. Chassis number '12550' was tested by 'Car' magazine whilst it was owned by racing driver, demolition contractor, Lamborghini aficionado, and colourful character, Barry Robinson, and carried the registration 'BR 33'. A copy of the article, which appeared in Car's April 1984 edition, is with the car. The Lamborghini's first owner, Robinson had the engine blueprinted and its output was estimated by the factory at around 425bhp, some 50 horsepower more than standard. On the 15th of October, 1983, Barry Robinson and his co-driver, the articulate and urbane, Alex Postan set a series of twelve British speed and endurance records for 'Production Cars' with this Countach, lapping Vauxhall's Millbrook test track at 180mph for extended periods. This car was acquired by its present keeper in mid-2014 and we understand that it had been in storage for the previous 10 years. There are some invoices in the file from that period.Since his purchase in July 2014, our vendor has invested heavily returning this Lamborghini to the glorious condition in which you find it today. There are a number of invoices relating to remedying minor mechanical ailments, new door glass and windscreen, tyres, battery etc. and in June 2016 the car was treated to a glass-out /trim-out respray. All these detailed invoices are in the car's history file, along with its fresh MOT Certificate, magazine articles, manuals, service records, and information about the RAC Speed Records. This fabulous LP500S has a lot going for it; it is one of only 25 or possibly fewer, it's in stunning condition having been spared no expense during the last three years, and it was the holder of 12 British Outright Speed records in 1983. A unique opportunity.

Last Owner for 10 years and only 4 former keepers* 'Varioram' engine with 285bhp. 6-speed manual * Comprehensive History with 21 service stamps The 993 was the final generation of air-cooled 911s, and as such will always have a special place in the affections of Porsche enthusiasts. It is also widely said to be the last of the 911s that were built whilst engineering integrity overruled accounting pressures at Porsche. Twenty years on, it still looks modern - a truly timeless design. It was launched in the autumn of 1994 and was claimed by the company to be significantly different (80% new they said) from the 964. The bodywork was altogether more curvaceous, with a number of new panels and the overall look was much smoother and more integrated. Importantly, this new style was still every inch a 911 in the traditional manner, with the profiles of the doors and rear quarter windows remaining unchanged from earlier models. The biggest change under the skin was the new multi-link rear suspension, giving greater driver confidence, less road noise, and excellent ride quality. Designed to give a level of passive rear-wheel steering (the 'Weissach effect'), thus controlling the way the suspension behaved under cornering, braking, and acceleration, it transformed the 911. It was also the first 911 to be equipped with power steering and an advanced ABS system. August 1995 heralded the introduction of the 'Varioram' induction system, helping to boost power to 285bhp, and enabling a top speed close to 170mph with acceleration to match.Offered here is a UK, AFN Chiswick delivered, Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Cabriolet finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a Midnight Blue leather interior and just 45,000 miles recorded. The comprehensive specification includes a six-speed gearbox, power assisted steering, ABS brakes, electric windows, electric mirrors, original leather steering wheel and CD player. It has headlamp adjustment and washers, and remote central locking with alarm and immobiliser. The power hood is finished in Midnight Blue nicely complementing the dark blue interior. 'Cup' 17-inch alloys are fitted with Porsche colour-crested centres. The service history is excellent with twenty-one service stamps from main dealers and Porsche specialists and all the service invoices are in the history file along with the original owner's book pack and manuals. Both original keys are present together with the car's tool bag and tyre compressor. The car has been enjoyed by four owners with the last owner purchasing it in 2008 with 29,000 miles indicated. Besides routine servicing, he replaced the clutch and the dual mass flywheel. The last service was conducted May (2017) with 45,050 miles showing and supplied with a fresh MOT.The values of 993s have continued to rise recently with right-hand drive, manual gearbox cars commanding a significant premium, and naturally, the Cabriolet is the one to have.

1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II 4.2 Roadster

Lot # 547 (Sale Order: 47 of 79)

* A US, left-hand drive, manual gearbox Roadster that has been well restored* Nut and bolt resto in the States. Lots of relevant documentation and invoices ($50K)* New Mohair hood, luggage rack, chromed wire wheels and tyres* Returned to the UK in 2015. Light use since* Heritage Certificate, V5c, good owner's file, lots of invoices, fresh MOT, recent serviceSome cars need no introduction and the Jaguar E-Type is no exception. The Series II cars that were produced from 1969 to 1971 can be identified by their open headlights, no longer with glass covers, a wrap-around rear bumper with the tail lights now underneath, and the front indicators were larger and similarly repositioned below the slightly heavier front bumpers. The cooling was much improved helped by the enlarged 'mouth'. Series II cars also feature twin electric fans and uprated brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smoothly polished cam covers to a ribbed appearance. Originally manufactured in 1969, this beautiful left-hand drive, manual gearbox, Series II E-Type Roadster was finished in Carmen Red with a black leather interior and chrome wire wheels and was dispatched to join its many siblings in the US of A. We understand from our vendor that its last owner in the States enjoyed the car for a good many years before the decision was made to commit to a full nut and bolt restoration. There are details of the work carried out stateside in the car's owner's file which, we understand, contains invoices totalling around $50,000 relating to the Jaguar's rejuvenation. Pleasingly, it looks as though no expense was spared and its appearance is enhanced by a lovely cabin, a new mohair hood, and new chrome wire wheels. Since its return to the UK in 2015, it has been lightly used and dry stored. The car is accompanied by its UK V5c, a fresh MOT, the US restoration and maintenance information, and its Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming 'matching numbers'.A smartly restored, matching numbers, bright red, E-Type roadster with chrome wire wheels and a chrome luggage-rack, recently serviced and with a fresh MOT. What's not to like?

1983 Aston Martin Lagonda

Lot # 548 (Sale Order: 48 of 79)

* UK-supplied in right-hand drive. Rare in Windsor Red Metallic* Great expenditure between 2010-'15 by the previous owner* Full body respray and interior refresh in 2016 Now looks in remarkable condition for its age.* Supplied with UK V5c, MOT July '18 and huge history file* Large garage required for this at 17 foot 4" longThe Aston Martin Lagonda was a luxury four-door saloon built by Aston Martin of Newport Pagnell, between 1976 and 1989. A total of 645 examples were produced at an average selling price of £150,000, and the name was derived from the Lagonda marque that Aston Martin had purchased in 1947. Aston Martin was facing severe financial pressure in the mid-1970s following the petrol crisis and the Lagonda was aimed predominantly at the US and Middle Eastern markets.Traditionally, Aston Martin had built two-door sports cars but the Lagonda was a four-door saloon utilizing the 5430cc, Tadek Merak-designed V8 engine that powered the current Aston Martin V8 models. As soon as it was introduced, its dramatic looks attracted hundreds of deposits from potential customers and in so doing, helped Aston Martin's finances. The car was designed by William Towns in an extreme interpretation of the classic 1970's "folded paper" style. It was as unconventional a design then as it is now, and even today car enthusiasts are fiercely divided on the car's aesthetic value. Throughout the history of the marque, these hand-built Lagondas were amongst the most expensive saloons in the world. The only other 'production' cars to approach its lofty price tag were from the stables of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The Lagonda was the first production car in the world to use computer management, a digital instrument panel and second series cathode ray tubes for the instrumentation. It combined striking styling with an opulent, 'members club' leather interior, and with its state-of-the-art instrument panel was a veritable spaceship. Coupled to a Chrysler 3-speed "TorqueFlite" automatic transmission, its quad-cam carbureted V8 could provide massive linear thrust when required. The later Series 3 and all Series 4 models were fuel injected. This UK-supplied, right-hand drive Aston Martin Lagonda Series II was ordered new by a Mr D. Simmons of Walton-On-Thames and was first registered to him on 1st August 1983. The car was finished in Windsor Red Metallic with a magnolia leather interior piped in Burgundy and being an '83 car was a Series II model - the first of the 'Wedge' Lagonda's sporting an LED digital dashboard. The first owner kept the car some five years before it was sold to its next keeper in Portsmouth. A string of owners later and the car was bought by a Mr R. Jerrom of Warwick in November 1997. He sent the car to marque specialists, Four Ashes Garage where it received a host of remedial work triggering a bill of £8,727.Two more owners on and chassis #13277 was purchased by a Mr J. Clark of Stockport in 2010 who treated himself to this Aston on his 40th birthday. In Mr Clark's ownership, a great detail of work was carried out to detail areas of the car, including the engine bay, electrical system and interior. In fact, there is a full folder of photographs and descriptions, as Mr Clark was logging his progress on the LagondaNet forum. In 2015 the car was sent to David Marks of Nottingham for some bodywork welding repairs to the chassis and D-posts - a common area for corrosion on Lagondas. A series of invoices for almost £6,000 is included in the file. Our vendor purchased the car in 2016 and has since had a full body respray along with a thorough clean of the interior leather, which now looks in remarkable condition for its age. Supplied with a UK V5c, an MOT until 24th July 2018, its handbook and a raft of folders containing its history, this car is now in presentable condition and reads just over 108,200 miles on the odometer. Interest in these cars has increased in recent years as classic car collectors acknowledge their limited production numbers-only 645 made until 1989 and their futuristic styling. This Aston is now ready to be someone else's 40th birthday present!

1991 BMW 850i

Lot # 549 (Sale Order: 49 of 79)

* UK-supplied right-hand drive. Supplied new by BMW Cooper, Park Lane.First registered 1st March 1991.* 5-Litre V12 engine and 5-speed automatic. 295bho and 330lb/ft of torque* 39,822 miles from new. 15 stamps in the service book Only 532 miles since last service (Aug '17)* Recent attention at Halliwell Jones BMW.Power steering, rear discs, fluids & filters ++. Invoice for over £6,000* Supplied with a UK V5c and its book pack* Rarely do 8-Series BMWs come to market in this condition The wonderfully dramatic BMW 8 Series Coupé was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989 and positively bristled with innovations, as befitted the flagship model from the makers of "the ultimate driving machine". While the motoring press focussed on the numerous road car 'firsts' such as the first electronic 'fly-by-wire' throttle, the first 'CAN bus' system to cut down the complexity and weight of the electrical system and the first BMW multi-link rear axle, what really impressed most people was just the sheer presence of the thing.Luxuriously trimmed inside and packed with all the gadgets that its jet-set client base could wish for, the 8 Series turned every journey into an occasion and made the driver feel special every time they slipped behind the wheel. Initially, it was powered by a magnificent all-alloy, 5-litre V12 that produced 295bhp and a mighty 330lb/ft of torque. Allied to a 5-speed automatic gearbox that could be operated manually if really rapid progress was desired, this was sufficient to generate a 0-60mph time of just 6.8 seconds on its way to a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. An equally brilliant 4-litre V8 engine was also later offered, as was a 4.4-litre which addressed the lack of torque of the smaller engined car.The car offered here is a UK-supplied right-hand drive BMW 850i supplied new to its first owner through BMW Cooper, Park Lane and first registered on 1st March 1991. Finished in Mauritius Blue, the interior is finished in grey leather which remains in remarkable condition to this day. Under the bonnet of this Grand Tourer lurks the V12 unit mated to the 5-speed automatic gearbox. The original service book which accompanies the car shows more than 15 stamps from both BMW main dealers and specialists, with the last service being carried out in August '17 at Halliwell Jones BMW, Wilmslow. A 9-page invoice totalling over £6,000 details the work carried out at this time which included: Remedy power steering fault, new rear brake discs, all fluids & filters and a host of other remedial work to ensure this 850i was back to fine fettle.Having now covered only 532 miles since this service and with the odometer now reading an incredibly low 39,882 miles, this car is supplied with a UK V5c and its book pack containing all relevant literature. Rarely do 8-series BMW's come to market in this condition and with this mileage, and we urge you to come and see this car for yourself.

1991 Ferrari Testarossa

Lot # 550 (Sale Order: 50 of 79)

* UK supplied RHD car* Low mileage only 27,000 miles* Comprehensive history file* Over £15,000 spent on last service* Classic colour combination When Ferrari introduced the Testarossa in Paris in 1984, it was regarded as possibly the best car they had ever built but, whilst the design was spectacular, it was not considered to be as sensually beautiful as numerous GT Ferraris of the past. As a complete departure, Pininfarina had designed a modern, aerodynamic and efficient body shape, immediately recognisable by its very distinctive side 'strakes' unlike anything else seen in the post-war period. The name 'Testarossa', literally Redhead, became synonymous with Ferrari sports racing cars in the 50s and 60s and was resurrected at the launch of this new model at the Porte de Versailles in 1984.Housing a 4.9-litre V12 engine producing 390bhp, the car was capable of a respectable 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 196mph. Produced between 1984 and 1991, some 7,177 Testarossas were made in total. Once again, time showed Pininfarina's design to be durable, and throughout the eighties, the distinctive 'strakes' were echoed in other design disciplines from cars to kettles. However, although the design may have seemed to be 'of the moment', the Testarossa proved itself to be a well-built car, and despite its 'Eiger-rivaling' list price, turned out to be Ferrari's most successful model ever.Today it's a design icon, symbolic of eighties culture, and despite a period in the "boondocks", its popularity is returning rapidly. It's not a surprise really since the Testarossa offers a rare package of serious performance, practicality, and reasonable comfort and although heavy at low speeds, its confidence-inspiring handling at high speed becomes almost addictive.Offered here is a UK-supplied right-hand drive 1991 Ferrari Testarossa first registered in the UK on 16th April 1991. This Prancing Horse is finished in Rosso with a sumptuous Grigio leather cabin and Nero carpets throughout. Purchased by our vendor in 2014, the maintenance records that accompany the car show it has been well looked-after throughout its years. In March 2017 the car was sent to well-respected Ferrari specialists Nick Cartwright where it received a full overhaul. Work at this time included:- Removal of engine and gearbox and cambelts replaced- Cam covers re-crackled- Engine chemically cleaned- New engine oil and filter, gearbox and differential oil.- Rear suspension removed, cleaned, re-painted where necessary and reassembled- Braking system checked, new brake fluid and bleed out system- Air-conditioning recharged- Engine bay fully cleaned and car machine polished- New MOTThe car is accompanied by a comprehensive invoice from the aforementioned specialist fully detailing the work carried out, in exchange for £15,600. Supplied with a UK V5c and fresh MOT in the original leather book pack, this stunning Testarossa is now showing only 27,000 miles on the odometer and is a truly exceptional example of one of the finest supercars from the 1980s. A must for any collector of landmark Ferraris.
