Russian WW2 Pilot's Survival Tool - Compact Axe/Hatchet

Lot # 798 (Sale Order: 251 of 302)

"This is an original WWII-era Soviet Air Force pilot's survival hatchet, a compact yet rugged multipurpose tool carried aboard Red Army aircraft for emergency landings, navigation, and survival scenarios. Forged from carbon steel with a broad axe face and pick-style back spike, the hatchet shows clear wartime age and service wear. The wooden grip is ribbed for handling and secured by steel rivets, with signs of field reconditioning. Issued primarily to bomber crews and front-line fighter pilots operating in the vast, unforgiving terrain of the Eastern Front, these survival tools were stored in aircraft emergency kits alongside maps, flares, and basic rations.

Pilots who crashed behind enemy lines or in remote tundra or forest zones depended on these tools for firewood collection, shelter building, or defense. Unlike American or British pilot gear, which was often standardized, Soviet aircrew equipment was diverse, often hand-assembled in depot-level survival kits. These compact hatchets are rare to find outside of Eastern Europe and represent a fascinating aspect of Soviet aviation history-equal parts practical tool and emblem of Red Army resilience....more

German WW2 Luftwaffe 2nd Model Dagger with Rare Ivoroid Grip - Paul Holler Solingen

Lot # 800 (Sale Order: 253 of 302)

"This is an excellent example of a mid-war German Luftwaffe 2nd Model Dagger, manufactured by Paul Holler of Solingen. The dagger features a beautifully preserved Ivoroid grip, a custom order piece made to resemble polished ivory with realistic grain patterns. These grips are particularly scarce and highly desirable among collectors due to their aesthetic appeal and rarity. The grip is tightly wrapped in twisted silver bullion wire, showing minimal wear. The hilt components are aluminum, consistent with wartime materials used in Luftwaffe daggers. The pommel is crisply detailed, with sharply raised oak leaves and swastikas on both sides, and the crossguard eagle is well-detailed with minimal wear and fine feathering. The scabbard is straight, with much of the original zinc plating still intact, accented by raised oak leaf bands, a single screw throat, and an attractive dark patina. The blade remains in fantastic condition, retaining its original factory crossgrain, with only light runner marks and faint gray speckling from age. The reverse ricasso is etched with the hallmark of Paul Holler.

Bandit Warfare Badge in Bronze

Lot # 802 (Sale Order: 255 of 302)

"Bandit-warfare Badge (Bandenkampfabzeichen), also called Anti-Partisan or Guerrilla Warfare Badge, was a World War II decoration of Nazi Germany awarded to members of the Army, Luftwaffe, Order Police, and Waffen-SS for participating in rear-area security operations, the so- called Bandenbekämpfung (bandit fighting). The badge was instituted on 30 January 1944 by Adolf Hitler after authorization/recommendation by Heinrich Himmler. The award was intended to recognize those who had taken part in combating the growing Partisan menace which was causing so much disruption in the areas occupied by the German armed forces along with her Allies. The badge is usually associated predominantly with battles against Soviet Partisans in the Eastern Europe and with Tito and Yugoslavia. But was of course intended for all those who had seen action against Partisans on all the fronts. Although this was an SS and Police award, it was open to all those who had fought against the Partisans and fulfilled the appropriate criteria listed. Thus, it was also awarded to members of the Army, Navy, and Luftwaffe personnel as well as to SS and Police units. Authority to bestow the award lay with the High Command of each branch of the Armed Forces and with the local Höhere SS- und Polizei Führer in the case of Waffen-SS or SS and Polizei awards.

German WW2 Nazi Officer Dress Sword by Emil Voos, Solingen - 40" with Scabbard

Lot # 806 (Sale Order: 259 of 302)

"This is an original German WW2 officer's dress sword, featuring a 34"" slightly curved blade marked ""Emil Voos, Solingen"" at the ricasso. The right langet bears a raised German eagle with swastika, and the handle features wire wrapping, foliate P-guard, and dove-head pommel. Comes with the original black painted steel scabbard, which shows some paint loss consistent with age. Blade remains in very good condition, and the full length with scabbard is 40 inches.

Emil Voos was a noted blade manufacturer in Solingen, Germany's blade capital. Officer swords such as this were often privately purchased dress items, worn on formal military occasions and parades. The presence of the eagle and swastika suggests this belonged to a Nazi military officer, likely Wehrmacht or Luftwaffe....more

Japanese WWII Officer's Sword with Signed 1500s Blade

Lot # 807 (Sale Order: 260 of 302)

"This extraordinary WWII-era Japanese officer's katana houses a traditionally forged, signed blade dating to the 16th century, linking Japan's imperial militarism of the 1940s to the master swordsmiths of the Sengoku era. The blade displays a classic shinogi-zukuri curvature with a long bohi groove and visible temper line (hamon). The tang (nakago) bears a clear signature (mei), identifying the swordsmith and offering strong potential for academic attribution. The blade has been lightly cleaned but retains its shape, balance, and edge integrity.
