Waterbury Statue Clock - Clock Maker

Lot # 47 (Sale Order: 47 of 334)

We originally called this clock a cast bronze mantle clock. We have since done some more research and got a key for the clock. The clock person said it was made of spelter or white metal and not a bronze clock like we originally thought it was. He also let us know this is circa 1900 is an eight day statue clock with Waterbury movement. He let us know both springs are good but the clock really needs to be gone through in order to keep correct time and chime.
Original description
This cast bronze mantle clock or display features both a statue and a clock. The statue appears to be of a clock maker looking towards his work and is situated on the right. The clock is situated on the left and is not working. The front of the clock has its original hinged glass enclosure while the back of the clock does not have its original hinged back cover. We heard a rattle in the base and found the clocks pendulum inside. As we fished it out the clock did tick and seem to run. We do not have a key for the clock and chime so we do not know if this works or not. The display measures 14" long x 12" tall and is sold as found. .
