Olympia Beer Banners

This lot is for a pair of vintage Olympia Beer Banners circa 1965. They are the same yet very different. These were from the Olympia Brewery in Olympia, Washington which has been closed now for several years. They are made of cloth with a small dowel and string at the top. They are both approximately 8 1/2" wide x 11" long, one is a 1/4" shorter than the other. Both look like they were never used and still have great color.

This vintage medal/token/coin comes from the the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition held in Portland, Oregon. The obverse features a bust of Lewis & Clark, the reverse features the U.S. Government Building from the expo itself. Measures 1 1/2" in diameter. Light wear to edge of the coin on either side and light patina with some spotting on the reverse. Weighs 17.4g.

Lot of 3 Vintage Etched Shot Glasses - Old Thompson, Kellerstrass, Joel B. Frazier

This very nice set of 3 vintage etched shot glasses features three different companies - Old Thompson , Old Joel B. Frazier Whiskey and Kellerstrass Distilling Co. The Frazier glass has a small fleabite in its rim - the Kellerstrass glass has a noticeable chip along its rim. The Old Thompson glass has a fluted bottom. All three are in very good condition with the etchings still very presentable and readable. The larger glasses measure approx. 2 1/2" tall by 2" in diameter and the smaller glass measures 2 1/4" tall by 1 1/2" in diameter.

John Sebastian Concert Poster - Portland, Oregon

Lot # 83 (Sale Order: 83 of 334)      

We believe this concert was held on Friday November 19, 1976 at the Paramount Theater in downtown Portland, Oregon. The venue has since changed names to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and is still open today. In 1976 Sebastian had a number one single with "Welcome Back," the theme song to the sitcom Welcome Back Kotter. He was also in the group the Lovin' Spoonful leaving the band in 1968. Sebastian was popular among the rock festival circuits and had a memorable, unscheduled appearance at Woodstock, appearing after Country Joe McDonald's set. The poster is original with tack hole to the corners. Size is approximately 19 1/4" x 13 7/8"

It measures 9" x 6 3/4", contains 272 pages and is illustrated throughout by John R. Neill. Published by Reilly & Lee Co. of Chicago. Does not come with the original dustjacket and has some separation of the binding near the top of the spine and the back cover of the book. Pages show dust/shelf wear and yellowing from age. Overall in good condition and very readable.

This is a vintage counter-top display sign; it could also be mounted or hung on a wall so it was very versatile. The sign features six colored lights that flash on and off at random to draw your attention to the sign; it even comes with an original capped bottle. Richmond 1864 - Twenty Dollar Confederate Bill - $20 Currency

Lot # 89 (Sale Order: 89 of 334)      

Offered is an authentic civil war confederate twenty dollar bill. It is authorized by the Confederate government February 17, 1864. This bill or note shows the state capitol building at Nashville, Tennessee with A.H. Stevens, Confederate Vice President and Governor of Georgia, at right. The front has a black with reddish overprint while the back is blue with "TWENTY" in large letters. This high denomination note reflects the hyper-inflation gripping the Confederacy in 1864. Date is printed, serial number is hand inscribed and signature is hand signed. The note was printed by Keatinge & Ball, Columbia, South Carolina". Size is approximately 7 1/8 x 3. This note looks to be a very high grade note with no signs of folds or creases. As always we will leave the final grading up to you.

Little Black Sambo Childrens Book

Offered is a hard to find vintage children's book "Little Black Sambo". This oversized book is 10" x 12" with 14 pages and color illustrations on each and every page. The book was printed by Gabriel Sons Company of New York with no date listed, we think the book is circa 1920 and it is number 856. The book was written by Helen Bannerman and illustrated by Mary LaFetra Russell. The book show that it was read and loved by someone very much, there is rubs, soiling, creases and dinged corners. This is a hard to find book and every example we have ever seen showed similar wear from use. On the front cover of the book it is referred to as a "Linenette" which was there way of describing the type of paper this is printed on which is a stiff card stock with a linen like surface. It is very durable and the reason this book survived.

Large Columbia River Arrowhead - Atlatl Valley - Oregon - 1957

Lot # 93 (Sale Order: 93 of 334)      

Offered is a very large Columbia River arrowhead or knife. This is one of the largest and most colorful points in the collection at 4" x 1 3/4". This is exactly as found with one end having a straight across end were it was snapped off from the rest of the point. The number "116" on one side is his inventory number - we did not find his actual list - just notes on a piece of paper with the point for location. This was found by Walt and Gladys Koch members of the Oregon Archeology Society also known as OAS from 1955 to 1965 and have remained in there personal collection until now.

Anheuser Busch Prohibition Era Bevo Bottle and Glass

Lot # 94 (Sale Order: 94 of 334)      

Both the bottle and glass are prohibition era from Anheuser Busch Brewing Association of Saint Louis, Missouri. The bottle is made of amber glass with paper labels. The paper labels do have flaws such as nicks, tears and paper loss most of the rear label is missing. The bottle is 10 ounces and is clean other than a very small lip chip. Size is 7 1/4" x 2 7/8. The glass is a painted label barrel glass. Size is 3 1/2" x 3 there are no chips, cracks or fleabites. The Anheuser Busch Company started brewing Bevo in 1916. Production rose greatly with prohibition in 1919, and Bevo was by far the most popular of the many "cereal beverages" or "near beers" of the time. The name "Bevo" was coined from the word "beverage" and the Slavic language word for beer "pivo", and was pronounced "Bee-vo".

United States Mint Error Coin Lot - Pennies and Dimes

This lot is for twelve different mint error coins. There are eleven pennies and a dime. The Lincoln cents are from 1941, 1943, 1944, 1945 and 1952 all are from San Francisco except for one of the 1943 steel pennies which is from Denver. All of the coins are off center to different degrees except for a 1943 S steel cent that has a clipped Planchet. The dime is a later clad dime and there is no date on it. All of the coins look to be in good condition with some having some original luster. All are exactly as received and have not been graded or cleaned.
