1970 Grateful Dead Handbill

Lot # 205 (Sale Order: 204 of 334)

Handbills were used to promote concerts as sidewalk handouts and dashboard flyers. This handbill was promoting the January 16th, 1970 dance at Springers in Portland, Oregon. It featured the music of the Grateful Dead and River. Springers was a small dance hall on the outskirts of Portland that by todays standards would be way to small for anyone but a local band to play, but in its day everyone played there that came through Portland. The art was done by Jim Blashfield. This is used with some tack holes top and bottom center of edge. Size is 4 1/2" x 7". This is one you do not see every day!

Vintage Campbell's Soup Restaurant Display w/ Original Sign Topper

Lot # 206 (Sale Order: 205 of 334)

This vintage advertising display advertises Campbell's Soup and came out of a restaurant or diner. It is two pieces - the rack to hold the cans of soup and the sign that advertises the different types of soup. The sign itself fits behind the top of the rack for display purposes. The rack measures 21" x 19" x 5" - the sign measures 18" x 10". The rack and sign are in good, functioning condition - there is some paint wear on the corners of the rack and on the edges of the shelves. This is a very well used piece, but it is definitely unique enough for us to put in the auction. We've not seen a piece like this - outside of a restaurant or diner, that is. Cans of soup are for our own display purposes - this lot does not include any cans of soup. Sign will be removed from original position for shipping purposes.
