Lot of 10 Different Diecast Trucks - Chevron Promotional Series "Days Gone" - 1990s

Lot # 126 (Sale Order: 126 of 361)      

This lot of 10 toy trucks is from the Chevron promotional series "Days Gone" and were made in England by the LLEDO Co. This series started in 1990 - vehicles range from 3" to 4" long, the box measures 5.5" long. Some boxes have light shelf wear but the toys have never been played with.

Southern Pacific Railroad Old Missions Vintage Travel Poster by Maurice Logan

Lot # 127 (Sale Order: 127 of 361)      

The year on this is circa 1932. This poster is part of a series by the artist, Maurice Logan, of destinations along the Southern Pacific Railroad. All of this artist's posters are highly collectable. And we are pleased to be offering such a treasure in this auction. The condition is okay, with some light soiling, some creases that have been touched-up and repaired pin-holes in the four corners. It appears that thre has been some slight fading in the colors. It has been professionally linen-backed. The size on this is 12 1/4 x 13 3/8 with the linen-backing borders extending another two inches all around. This item will be shipped rolled.

Lot of 3 Gold Key Comic Books - The Lone Ranger (1964) - Issues #6, 7, 11 - FN+ to F/VF

Three Gold Key comics - The Lone Ranger (1964 series), issues 6, 7, 11. FN+ to F/VF condition.

All comic books will come freshly bagged and boarded.

We have decided to not professionally grade these comics so as to offer the customer the best value possible on each individual comic. We have done our best to grade the condition of each comic on our own. Most comics very very well taken care of and will be anywhere from VG/FN to VF/NM. Please refer to the following guide for details on each separate condition grade.

VF/NM 9.0 - 1/8 inch bend with no color break, very minor foxing allowed, small amount of cover wear, several date stamps and or small hidden initials allowed, slight staple tears allowed. Minor accumulation of stress lines allowed and some very minor interior tears allowed.

VF+ 8.5 - 1/4 inch cover crease with no color break allowed, minor spine split with some minor color break allowed. Some slightly more noticeable stress lines allowed and paper can be cream to tan but must remain supple.

VF 8.0 - Same as 8.5 but with some very very minor spine roll - must lay almost completely flat.

VF- 7.5 - Same as 8.0 but cover can have light cover soiling and some interior pages can have slight corner tears. Cover can have some corner wear.

FN/VF 7.0 -  Moderate reduction of cover reflectivity - minor creases allowed, minor foxing, interior cover yellowing. Date stamps, initials and store stamps are allowed. Slight rust migration allowed - blunted corners, minor margin tears on interior pages allowed. More and deeper stress lines allowed.

FN+ 6.5 - Up to 1/4 inch spine split or severe color break are allowed. Minor spine rolls allowed and cover can have minor discoloration, staining and/or foxing as well as minor to moderate cover creases.

FN 6.0 - Same as 6.5 with a loose but attached centerfold.

FN- 5.5 - Same as above but with some marvel chipping present as well as some bundling ridges and minor abraded edges. Also light pencil marks possible.

VG/FN 5.0 - Low cover gloss, possible minor to moderate dimples and creases present. Up to 1/2 inch spine split - moderate rolling of the spine. May also have the beginning of an acid odor.

VG+ 4.5 - Cover wear is moderate to significant - cover may be loose. Cover may be faded and staples discolored, moderate staple tears. Up to 1" spine split, moderate stress lines and moderate interior tears. Minor odor, minor repairs and up to a 1/4 inch triangle or 1/8 square missing (must not effect story). Pages can be brown but not brittle.

VG 4.0 - Same as above but with heavy spine wear and brown staining on cover. Some pen and/or pencil writing is common but should not be excessive.

Lot of 7 Arrowheads - John Day River - Oregon

Offered are seven arrowheads that were found in 1962 in the John Day River basin. Six of the point all look to have been made of the same type of material while the smallest point is made of agate and looks like it was unfinished as one edge on one side is not flaked. These are large points with most over 2" x 1 1/4". The smallest is still of nice size at 1 1/2" x 7/8". They were found by Walt and Gladys Koch.

This is a Whitman Hot Fudge Warmer (fudgester) made by Lacy Products Corp of Chicago.  This would sit on the counter behind the soda fountain to keep the fudge warm.  It measures approximately 10 1/2" tall and 7" in diameter and has a flip top lid.  It looks like new, it works like new and has the original cord which is also in excellent condition.

1949 Advertising Mirror & Calendar - The Rocky Mountain Bar - Helena, Montana

Offered is a never used advertising mirror from the Rocky Mountain Bar in Helena, Montana. It comes in its original box and was never used. The calendar pad that hangs from the bottom is dated 1949. The mirror has a green boarder with a pair of cockatoos on a tree branch and the advertising on the lower right corner. Size is 9 x 8 without the calendar which is 3 3/8 x 2 3/4".

Pair of Splitting Wedges - Wakemap Mound - Columbia River

Lot # 140 (Sale Order: 140 of 361)      

Offered are two splitting wedges. They were found at the Wakemap Mound site in 1957. The larger one is made from antler and is approximately 5 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 2", the smaller one is made of bone and is 4 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". Located near Five Mile Rapids, Wakemap Mound is a mound at the site of Wishram Village. The site is now surrounded by water caused by the construction of The Dalles Dam. All the artifacts we are offering were found by Walt and Gladys Koch members of the Oregon Archeology Society between 1955 and 1965.

This colorful chalk back bar piece is advertising Fox Head "400" Beer from the Fox Head Brewing Co. of Waukesha, Wisconsin.  It is one of the harder to find pieces and measures approximately 9 3/4" tall.  There are 2 small areas of flaking on the base, but overall it is in very good condition. It is dated 1949.  It would look great as a display piece on a bar.

Vintage Olympia Beer Lighted Motion Sign - "It's The Water"

This sign is dated on the back January 31, 1956. It was made is Seattle, Washington by Robert L. Rogers Company. It is for Olympia Beer from Olympia, Washington. When the sign is turned on there are small stars that light up and go on and off, also the face lights up high lighting the text and the wheat at the top. Size is 12 1/2" x 3 1/2". The sign can be hung on the wall or set on a counter top with the collapsible stand on the back. There are no chips or repairs to the sign or ornate round frame.

Vintage Ritz Cracker Iced Tea Cardboard Stand-Up

Lot # 145 (Sale Order: 145 of 361)      

This thick die-cut Ritz lady was used in stores to draw attention to delicious Ritz Crackers. The Nabisco logo featured on the stand-up was the one they used between 1941 - 1953. There are no bends, creases or stains. It has a double easel on back that was meant to fold flat - the whole piece, then, was meant to fold in half for shipping. Stand-up measures 64" tall  by 22" wide and will come in box that measures approx. 36" x 24" flat.

Vintage Set of 6 "Radio's Orphan Annie" Shado-ettes Premiums - 1938

This full set of six mechanical paper portraits are called "shado-ettes." They were issued in 1938 during Little Orphan Annie's radio show. They have never been assembled and are in like new condition. A remarkable set of premiums, given their condition, considering that they were meant for children and have survived all these years. Vintage 1920s Travel Poster - Enghien Les Bains - Paris, France

This subtle beautiful poster is advertising travel to the resort commune Enghien-les-Bains outside of Paris. It is in very good condition and linen-backed to stabilize and conserve it. Highlander Premium Beer Thermometer Montana

Lot # 148 (Sale Order: 148 of 361)      

This is one of the best vintage thermometers out there.  If it did not read "temperature" on top, it could easily be mistaken for a scale. The front glass reads "Temperature with Premium Highlander Beer in the center and Missoula Brewing Co Missoula Montana" along the bottom. This has a curved glass face with an aluminum ring holding it to the plastic back. It was manufactured by Advertising Products Inc. Cincinnati 23, Ohio by Union workers according to the sticker on the back. Size is 13 1/2" across x 2" deep. The brewery for Highlander Beer sat at the base of Waterworks Hill in Missoula, near Rattlesnake Creek. When Interstate 90 came through the area in the early 1960's, it meant the end of the brewery. They closed for good in 1964. Works and looks Great!. There are some reflections in the pictures.
