Vintage Gus' Topper Beer Sign - Kalispell Brewing Company - Kalispell, Montana

Lot # 276 (Sale Order: 276 of 361)      

Offer is an unused metal beer sign for Gus Topper Beer from Kalispell Brewing Company in Kalispell, Montana. The sign was made by the Stout Sign Company of St Louis. It is an embossed sign with raised letters and boarder, size is 23 12" x 17 1/2". Gus' Topper Beer was named after Gustav Bischoff Jr., who with other members of his family bought the Kalispell brewery in 1935. Gus' Topper was brewed starting in 1952 and continued until the brewery a few years later.

Vintage 1948 Poster - Clyde Beatty Cole Brothers Circus Original - Girl on Horseback - Miami Show

Lot # 277 (Sale Order: 277 of 361)      

It's rare to find these great old circus posters with the original snipe still intact. And Miami is a particularly desirable city for collectors. This has remained bright and colorful. It is in good condition considering it's age with two small pieces missing from the borders, see photos. The poster size is 21 x 27 1/2 inches without the snipe and 21 x 36 with the added attachment. It is unmounted. The date on this is circa 1948.

Maybe Site Columbia River Arrowhead

Lot # 278 (Sale Order: 278 of 361)      

This lot features a single Columbia River arrowhead. It was found circa 1960 at the Maybe Site on the Columbia River. It is a well known Late Archaic to Paleo site that produced many points and tools. This is one of the more unusual arrowheads from this collection. Size is approximately 7/8" x 5/8". This was found by Walt and Gladys Koch members of the Oregon Archeology Society.

Lot of 2 Dell Comics - Four Colors (1960) - Issue 1116 Boots & Saddles - Issue 1178 Ten Who Dared

Two Dell western comics - Four Colors - issue 1116 (1960) "Boots and Saddles" & issue 1178 (1960) "Ten Who Dared." VG/FN condition.

All comic books will come freshly bagged and boarded.

We have decided to not professionally grade these comics so as to offer the customer the best value possible on each individual comic. We have done our best to grade the condition of each comic on our own. Most comics very very well taken care of and will be anywhere from VG/FN to VF/NM. Please refer to the following guide for details on each separate condition grade.

VF/NM 9.0 - 1/8 inch bend with no color break, very minor foxing allowed, small amount of cover wear, several date stamps and or small hidden initials allowed, slight staple tears allowed. Minor accumulation of stress lines allowed and some very minor interior tears allowed.

VF+ 8.5 - 1/4 inch cover crease with no color break allowed, minor spine split with some minor color break allowed. Some slightly more noticeable stress lines allowed and paper can be cream to tan but must remain supple.

VF 8.0 - Same as 8.5 but with some very very minor spine roll - must lay almost completely flat.

VF- 7.5 - Same as 8.0 but cover can have light cover soiling and some interior pages can have slight corner tears. Cover can have some corner wear.

FN/VF 7.0 -  Moderate reduction of cover reflectivity - minor creases allowed, minor foxing, interior cover yellowing. Date stamps, initials and store stamps are allowed. Slight rust migration allowed - blunted corners, minor margin tears on interior pages allowed. More and deeper stress lines allowed.

FN+ 6.5 - Up to 1/4 inch spine split or severe color break are allowed. Minor spine rolls allowed and cover can have minor discoloration, staining and/or foxing as well as minor to moderate cover creases.

FN 6.0 - Same as 6.5 with a loose but attached centerfold.

FN- 5.5 - Same as above but with some marvel chipping present as well as some bundling ridges and minor abraded edges. Also light pencil marks possible.

VG/FN 5.0 - Low cover gloss, possible minor to moderate dimples and creases present. Up to 1/2 inch spine split - moderate rolling of the spine. May also have the beginning of an acid odor.

VG+ 4.5 - Cover wear is moderate to significant - cover may be loose. Cover may be faded and staples discolored, moderate staple tears. Up to 1" spine split, moderate stress lines and moderate interior tears. Minor odor, minor repairs and up to a 1/4 inch triangle or 1/8 square missing (must not effect story). Pages can be brown but not brittle.

VG 4.0 - Same as above but with heavy spine wear and brown staining on cover. Some pen and/or pencil writing is common but should not be excessive.

Lot of 14 Columbia River Basin Arrowhead and Points - Agate - Oregon

Offered is a collection of 14 varied Columbia River Arrowheads and points. All of these points are translucent and most are made of agate. The largest is approximately 1" x 3/4" and the smallest is 5/8" x 3/8". These are exactly as found with few flaws. These were found by Walt and Gladys Koch members of the OAS. These were found in the Columbia River Basin over several years and have remained in their private collection until now.

Lot of 2 Collector's Comic Art Prints by Robert Marble - "Communty Bath" & "Beans and Balances"

Lot # 282 (Sale Order: 282 of 361)      

These two prints are by the well-known comic artist, illustrator, Robert Marble, titled: Community Bath 11 1/2" x 10" and Beans and Balances at 15" x 6 1/4". His pieces are on exhibit in private homes and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad. They are in excellent condition, there is a very slight surface tape stain at the top edge, in two places, on each of the items from where the gallery would have attached the prints to the cardboard backing. They are not permanently mounted to anything. They come with the matting in which they had been received, see photographs. The style of printing is very good offset lithography. And the signature and numbering is in pencil. They are from 1984. This lot comes with a certificate of authenticity for Beans and Balances.

1950s Log Cabin Maple Syrup Tin - One Pint

Framed American Brewing and Malting Company Blank Checks - Great Falls, Montana - Conrad Banking Co.

Lot # 285 (Sale Order: 285 of 361)      

The American Brewing and Malting Company opened in Great Falls, Montana, in 1895. It produced beer and malt for Great Falls and surrounding areas. It closed in 1919 with Prohibition. From what we were able to find the Conrad Banking Company was in operation till 1914. So this sheet of five "5" unused checks would be from that period. They have been professionally framed and matted with Tru Vue conservation glass in the custom frame. Here is your chance to own a neat piece of Pre Prohibition history of Montana. Size framed is approximately 13" x 21".

French Antique Game Board Print - Stone Lithograph - Circa 1905

Voyage au Pays de Cocagne or "Journey to the Land of Plenty" is the name of the game that this item is promoting. This is either the cover art or the poster for the game. It is absolutely charming in it's illustration, showing children in their fantasy land of candy. It is in excellent condition, and mounted archivally using the process of linen-backing. It has a 2 inch white linen-backing border beyond what you see in the photograph. The dimensions without the linen are 13 1/8 x 18 1/8 inches. The printing is stone lithography and there is a glossiness to the surface.

Historic Civil War Engraving of the Members of Lincoln's First Cabinet and Abraham Lincoln

This fine old engraving had been taken from original artwork that had been done in the field during the Civil War. The plate would have been original and in this case, printed and bound later for publication, 1860's originally, bound later, perhaps at the turn of the 20th century. It is printed on both side with the reverse side also showing a great old image Abraham Lincoln and a brief biography. Size of the front side: 23 1/8 x 16 3/4 inches, Lincoln on the reverse being 11 1/2 x 16 3/4.

Indonesian Flat-Blade Sword w/ Water Buffalo Horn Handle

Lot # 289 (Sale Order: 289 of 361)      

This flat-blade sword - believed to have originated in the island of Sumatra, Indonesia - measures 27" long and approx. 2.5" wide at its widest point. The handle is believed to be made of the horn of a water buffalo with a brass attachment at the base of the sword. The blade has a few nicks and dings as well as residue from a sticker and the handle is in very good condition - otherwise the sword is in very good condition for its age.

The display looks like it was meant to have cans or bottles of Kessler beer placed inside of the basket to help remind you to take some on your picnic. The basket is part of the sign and will unfold to lay flat for shipping. The sign is made of thick cardboard and other then a few corner bumps and a fold / crack to the baskets handle the sign looks unused. Size folded and set up is approximately 14 x 19 1/2 x 5. There is an easel on back to help the sign stand up.

Set of 3 Paper Doll Books - 'Peachy and her Puppets,' 'Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm' & 'Barbie's Beach Bus'

Good for hours of fun - This is a set of 3 vintage all uncut paper doll books.  The first is of Peachy and Her Puppets dated 1974, it includes Peachy and 4 puppets along with Peachy's clothes.  There is a small amount of wear on the cover with some slight smudging on Peachy, the clothing is in excellent condition. It is based on a Mattel Talking Doll and is approximately 12"x9".  The second book is Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm of the Flintstones  dated 1965.  It is licensed by Hanna Barbera and includes Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm and Dino.  It measures  approximately 13"x10" and is in excellent condition.  The third book is Barbie's Beach Bus featuring Barbie, Ken and Skipper along with clothing for all plus a surfboard and the bus.  It is dated 1976 and is in excellent condition.
