The pepper-box revolver or simply pepperbox (also "pepper-pot", from its resemblance to the household pepper grinder) is a multiple-barrel repeating firearm that has three or more barrels grouped around a central axis. It mostly appears in the form of a multi-shot handheld firearm. Pepperboxes exist in all ammunition systems: matchlock, wheellock, flintlock, percussion, pinfire, rimfire and centerfire.
In the 15th century, several single-shot barrels were attached to a stock, being fired individually by means of a match. Around 1790, pepperboxes were built on the basis of flintlock systems, notably in England. This type of firearm was popular in North America from 1830 until the American civil war.

WOOD BERGANTIN SIGLO XVIII SAILBOAT MODEL SHIP
Bergantin Siglo XVIII - The English translation is "18th Century Brigantine." The original term 'brigantine' denoted a small ship, equipped with sails and oars, built for speed and, therefore, much in demand by pirates. This type of brigantine dates from the early sixteenth century; the trading brigantines of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries were very different vessels. For coastwise trading and shorter sea voyages, brigantines were one of the favored vessels of the north European nations. At first the trading brig and the brigantine were the same ship, but during the eighteenth century the two descriptions came to signify different rigs. The brigantine was square-rigged on the foremast and fore-and-aft rigged on the main. They were for all purposes: mainly for carrying cargoes coastwise and to the seven seas, but also, and increasingly importantly as the years passed, for the transport of passengers in varying degrees of comfort.

17TH CENTURY GERMAN AXE PISTOL
Reproduction of flintlock pistol with axe, made in wood and metal with simulating mechanism of loading and firing.
Flintlock pistols, one of the most commonly used firearms by the pirates in the eighteenth century, had a flint or flint stone, which when it was triggered by the hammer produced the spark that ignited the gunpowder. All these guns required to be ammo reload manually after each shot. The ammunition, which was introduced through the mouth of the barrel, consisted of gunpowder, projectile and a paper wad, which served as a cap to keep the two previous materials compressed inside the barrel.
In combat, generally these weapons were used for a single shot, since the method of reloading was very slow and it was not usually time to recharge. Therefore the fighters after shooting were forced to draw their sabers or swords or to use the axe of the pistol if they could not recharge it in time.

PERCUSSION EPROUVETTE BLACK POWDER POTENCY TESTER
This replica contraption is a Percussion Eprouvette. Back in the days when black powder was of dubious quality, devices like these were used to test the potency of the powder at hand. The barrel plug is attached to a V shaped spring. When fired the spring compresses moving a slider. The strength can then be read off a scale. I am not if the units on the scale correspond to the energy of the powder, or if it is just used for comparative purposes.

1703 SWEDISH FLINTLOCK AXE PISTOL
The axe-pistol was introduced in 1703 from an invention by Admiral Erich Sioblad and was produced in significant numbers in both short and a longer half-pike version over 5 feet in length.
