SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH OF BASEBALL LEGEND LOU GEHRIG THE ARTIST HAS SIGNED IT IN PENCIL IN THE LOWER RIGHT AND NUMBERED IT IN PENCIL IN THE LOWER LEFT. THE DRAWING WAS MADE BY SPORTS ARTIST ANGELO MARINO IN 1992 AND THE SIZE IS 24" X 18". Henry Louis ("Lou") Gehrig (June 19, 1903 - June 2, 1941), born Ludwig Heinrich Gehrig, was an American baseball player in the first half of the twentieth century. He set several Major League and American League records and was voted the greatest first baseman of all time by the Baseball Writers' Association.[1] His record for most career grand slam home runs (23) still stands today. A native of New York City, he played for the New York Yankees until his career was cut short by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), now commonly referred to in the US as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Gehrig was known as "The Iron Horse" for his durability. Over a 15-year span between 1925 and 1939, he played in 2,130 consecutive games. The streak was broken when Gehrig became disabled with the fatal neuromuscular disease that claimed his life two years later. His streak, long believed to be one of baseball's few unbreakable records, stood for 56 years until finally broken by Cal Ripken, Jr., of the Baltimore Orioles on September 6, 1995. Ripken would go on to play in a total of 2,632 consecutive games through September 20, 1998, setting the current record. Gehrig accumulated almost 2,000 RBI in seventeen seasons with a lifetime batting average of .340, a lifetime on-base percentage of .447, and a lifetime slugging percentage of .632. A seven-time All-Star (the first All-Star game was not until 1933; he did not play in the 1939 game, retiring a week before it was held - at Yankee S...more

SANDY KOUFAX LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH       SIGNED AND NUMBERED IN PENCIL              BY ARTIST ANGELO MARINO                      SIZE IS 24" X 18" Sanford Koufax , born Sanford Braun, was an American left-handed former pitcher in Major League Baseball who played his entire career for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, from 1955 to 1966. Koufax's career peaked with a run of six outstanding seasons from 1961 to 1966, before arthritis ended his career at age 30. He was named the National League's Most Valuable Player in 1963, and won the 1963, 1965, and 1966 Cy Young Awards by unanimous votes; in all three seasons, he won the pitcher's triple crown by leading the league (indeed, both major leagues) in wins, strikeouts, and earned run average. A notoriously difficult pitcher for batters to face, he was the first major leaguer to pitch more than three no-hitters, to average fewer than seven hits allowed per nine innings pitched in his career, and to strike out more than nine batters per nine innings pitched in his career. Among National League pitchers with at least 2,000 innings pitched who have debuted since 1913, he has the highest career winning percentage (.655), and had the lowest career ERA (2.76) until Tom Seaver ended 1974 with a 2.47 mark. His 2,396 career strikeouts ranked 7th in major league history upon his retirement, and trailed only Warren Spahn's total of 2,583 among left-handers. Retiring at the peak of his career, he became, at age 36 and 20 days, the youngest player ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame....more

SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH OF BASEBALL GREAT TY COBB The "GEORGIA PEACH" SIGNED IN PENCIL IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER AND NUMBERED IN PENCIL IN LOWER LEFT CORNER BY ARTIST ANGELO MARINO DRAWN IN 1992, THE LITHOGRAPH IS 24" X 18" Tyrus Raymond "Ty" Cobb (December 18, 1886 - July 17, 1961), nicknamed "The Georgia Peach," was a Hall of Fame baseball player. Most baseball historians and journalists consider Cobb to be one of the greatest players ever, and Cobb received the most votes of any player on the 1936 inaugural Hall of Fame Ballot. Cobb is widely credited with setting 90 baseball records during his career. He still holds several records as of 2007, including the highest MLB career batting average with .367 or .366 (depending on source) and most career batting titles with 12 (or 11, depending on source). He retained many other records for almost a half century or more, including most career major league hits until 1985 (4,191 or 4,189, depending on source), most career runs (2,245 or 2,246 depending on source) until 2001, most career games played (3,035) and at bats (11,429 or 11,434 depending on source) until 1974, and the modern record for most career stolen bases (892) until 1977. Cobb's legacy as an athlete has sometimes been overshadowed by his surly temperament, allegedly severe racism, and aggressive reputation, which was described by the Detroit Free Press as "daring to the point of dementia."...more
