This original chalk drawing shows a stylish short haired woman with big hoop earrings on a powder blue background.

This Gipps Beer sign portrays an early 20th century beer delivery, back when it was a wagon full of barrels. It is from an original watercolor by Edward Nicholson. The surface has some age spotting, but this actually can enhance the antique appearance. The sign is probably vintage, dating back 25 years or more. There is no glass. The light tone wood frame is 17" x 20".

This classic beer sign harkens back to the sixties. Simply stated and elegantly designed, this Coors ad presents its message with simple dignity. The pale blues, greens, and purples, though subdued, somehow remain bold. We cannot verify the age of this piece, but its inspiration is undeniable. It stands in contrast to modern Coors promotion.
