SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH OF BASEBALL LEGEND LOU GEHRIG THE ARTIST HAS SIGNED IT IN PENCIL IN THE LOWER RIGHT AND NUMBERED IT IN PENCIL IN THE LOWER LEFT. THE DRAWING WAS MADE BY SPORTS ARTIST ANGELO MARINO IN 1992 AND THE SIZE IS 24" X 18". Henry Louis ("Lou") Gehrig (June 19, 1903 - June 2, 1941), born Ludwig Heinrich Gehrig, was an American baseball player in the first half of the twentieth century. He set several Major League and American League records and was voted the greatest first baseman of all time by the Baseball Writers' Association.[1] His record for most career grand slam home runs (23) still stands today. A native of New York City, he played for the New York Yankees until his career was cut short by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), now commonly referred to in the US as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Gehrig was known as "The Iron Horse" for his durability. Over a 15-year span between 1925 and 1939, he played in 2,130 consecutive games. The streak was broken when Gehrig became disabled with the fatal neuromuscular disease that claimed his life two years later. His streak, long believed to be one of baseball's few unbreakable records, stood for 56 years until finally broken by Cal Ripken, Jr., of the Baltimore Orioles on September 6, 1995. Ripken would go on to play in a total of 2,632 consecutive games through September 20, 1998, setting the current record. Gehrig accumulated almost 2,000 RBI in seventeen seasons with a lifetime batting average of .340, a lifetime on-base percentage of .447, and a lifetime slugging percentage of .632. A seven-time All-Star (the first All-Star game was not until 1933; he did not play in the 1939 game, retiring a week before it was held - at Yankee S...more

SANDY KOUFAX LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH       SIGNED AND NUMBERED IN PENCIL              BY ARTIST ANGELO MARINO                      SIZE IS 24" X 18" Sanford Koufax , born Sanford Braun, was an American left-handed former pitcher in Major League Baseball who played his entire career for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, from 1955 to 1966. Koufax's career peaked with a run of six outstanding seasons from 1961 to 1966, before arthritis ended his career at age 30. He was named the National League's Most Valuable Player in 1963, and won the 1963, 1965, and 1966 Cy Young Awards by unanimous votes; in all three seasons, he won the pitcher's triple crown by leading the league (indeed, both major leagues) in wins, strikeouts, and earned run average. A notoriously difficult pitcher for batters to face, he was the first major leaguer to pitch more than three no-hitters, to average fewer than seven hits allowed per nine innings pitched in his career, and to strike out more than nine batters per nine innings pitched in his career. Among National League pitchers with at least 2,000 innings pitched who have debuted since 1913, he has the highest career winning percentage (.655), and had the lowest career ERA (2.76) until Tom Seaver ended 1974 with a 2.47 mark. His 2,396 career strikeouts ranked 7th in major league history upon his retirement, and trailed only Warren Spahn's total of 2,583 among left-handers. Retiring at the peak of his career, he became, at age 36 and 20 days, the youngest player ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame....more

Most baseball historians and journalists consider Cobb to be one of the greatest players ever, and Cobb received the most votes of any player on the 1936 inaugural Hall of Fame Ballot. Cobb is widely credited with setting 90 baseball records during his career. He still holds several records as of 2007, including the highest MLB career batting average with .367 or .366 (depending on source) and most career batting titles with 12 (or 11, depending on source). He retained many other records for almost a half century or more, including most career major league hits until 1985 (4,191 or 4,189, depending on source), most career runs (2,245 or 2,246 depending on source) until 2001, most career games played (3,035) and at bats (11,429 or 11,434 depending on source) until 1974, and the modern record for most career stolen bases (892) until 1977. Lot # 11500 (Sale Order: 328 of 645)

YOUR CHANCE TO OWN THIS BREATHTAKING WARRIOR BY RENOWNED ARTIST TILIER WESLEY!   The artist uses vivid colors and distinct imagery to create this authentic Native American art which is made with 100% Natural Dyes. "The Guardian" is a Limited Edition giclee by Tillier Wesley that is Hand Signed , Numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity! It measures 10" x 11" (image) and is in pristine condition. This stunning piece has never been matted, mounted or framed. BIO: Tillier Wesley's graceful art reflects the poignant beauty of a heritage all but lost to the world. One perhaps just a handful of full-blooded descendants of the Creek Indian tribe, Wesley's paintings serve a dual purpose: they are the expressions of gifted and increasingly popular talent, and they represent the artist's attempt to reclaim a legacy. A man who is at once at peace with himself and yet striving to assert his unique tribal heritage, Tillier Wesley has emerged as a singular American Artistic voice. Working in acrylics or sometimes caseins, Wesley begins by sketching and drawing his subject in great detail. then working a painting to achieve his end result. He typically uses small brushes and fine strokes to achieve the elaborate renditions of Indian clothing, headdresses and weaponry. Tillier's award winning images command attention and his meticulous detail captures the viewer's eye.   This is an outstanding work of art and would look wonderful in many rooms of ones home or as a gift for a fellow collector. With his acclaim steadily building, James continues to be featured at hotel and casinos around the country. "I always wanted to compete; my talents have made my only playing field my aisle." It measures 19" X 14" (border), 17" X 12" (image) and is in pristine condition. This vibrant print has never been matted, mounted or framed. BIO: Heddy Kun's vibrant oil paintings beam with a direct simplicity. Kun channels light in her works, be it dawn or twilight, she is able to create the perfect glow or her backgrounds. With her distance style she creates images that one is able to visually wander off through a pleasant town in the country and get lost with a delightful innocence. She is a true artist in the traditional sense. Her paintings invoke powerful emotions and have a universal appeal in a most unpretentious and familiar way. Her backgrounds are reminiscent of Cezanne in the manner in which she captures the essence of the Mediterranean . Behind the rhythm of Kun's paintings is her artistic spirit which travels through magical paths and doorways. Painting is an uncontainable expression for Kun. As a child she endured the terrors of the Holocaust. After the war she studied at the Academy of Art in Budapest under the finest art professors. In 1956 Kun immigrated to Israel where she established herself as an important artist and has since then taken part in numerous exhibitions in Israel , the UK , the United States , Australia , France and Germany .   This is an outstanding work of art and would look wonderful in many rooms of ones home or as a gift for a fellow collector. Lot # 11552 (Sale Order: 380 of 645)

DON'T MISS OUT! BID NOW ON "FLEUR POUR MADAME" AN ELEGANT WORK ARTISTRY BY JOSEPH DAWLEY!! Revel in the soft tones and careful detail used to create this wonderful work of art! "Fleur Pour Madame" is a Limited Edition lithograph that is Hand Signed by Joseph Dawley! It measures 23 ½" x 30 ½" (with border), 17 ½" X 23 ½" (image) and is in pristine condition. This beautiful piece has never been matted, mounted or framed. The Gallery Listprice is $400.00 but our Value Price is only $50.00. BIO: Born in Nashville , Arkansas in 1936, Joseph Dawley graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1959 and enjoyed an award-winning career as a realistic "Renaissance Style" artist throughout the 20th Century. During this period, Mr. Dawley was commissioned by the Vatican to paint the official portrait of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, which was unveiled at the canonization ceremony in St. Peter's Basilica. When a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease sidelined Joseph in the eighties, rather than admit artistic defeat, out of adversity emerged sheer genius! Fruits & Flowers ****FIRST EDITION**** Chagall

Lot # 11570 (Sale Order: 398 of 645)

Up for auction is a divine ***FIRST EDITION*** Marc Chagall lithograph, entitled "Fruits and Flowers". It was published by Mac International, Ltd. and interpreted by Master Chromist Vincenzo Salerno in 1990.
