1966 Colt SAA "Frontier Scout" (4.75") - Second Gen., 22 LR & Magnum, Revolver (W/ Box), 206422F

Lot # 55

According to Colt Archives serial number database, this Second Generation Single-Action Army Frontier Scout "Dual Cylinder" Revolver was produced in 1966. This revolver c...moreomes with both 22 LR & 22 Magnum cylinders. SPECS: Black checkered plastic grips with embossed Rampant Colt & American Eagle/ shield crest, aluminum alloy frame with blued finish, 4.75" steel barrel with blued finish, fixed groove rear sight, fixed blade front sight, checkered hammer and 6-shot cylinders. This revolver comes in the original two-piece wood grain cardboard box - does not include paperwork. CONDITION: This revolver is in beautiful condition with no wear to speak of, has a perfect sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Colt Single Action Army (SAA) is a single-action revolver designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company and was adopted as the standard military service revolver until 1892. At the beginning of World War II, Colt ceased production of the Single Action Army revolver to devote more time to filling orders for the war. When the war ended, the advent of television and Western themed movies created customer demand for the western-style revolver, so Colt resumed manufacturing in 1956 with the Second Generation line of Single Action Army revolvers. These Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolvers were produced from 1956 to 1974. The SAA "Frontier Scout" was introduced in 1957, and was produced until 1970 when Colt carried on with their Peacemaker 22 and then later a “New Frontier Scout”. The Frontier Scout was a .22 caliber version of the original SAA that was scaled down slightly and was lighter than its bigger bore brother. Between 1957 and 1970, Colt made some different variations of the Frontier Scout. These variations were mostly finishing differences and a few different grip styles. A majority of Frontier Scouts had black plastic grips which Colt referred to as "Black Checkered Ebony Composition Grips. When Frontier Scout revolvers were shipped from the factory, they were packaged in layered cardboard boxes with wood grain. The .22 SAA "New Frontier" was introduced in 1961, and the name “New Frontier” took advantage of the slogan made popular by President John F. Kennedy. A Third Generation of Colt SAAs began in 1975, characterized by a change in barrel thread pitch and a solid cylinder bushing replacing the removable/replaceable part from the first and second generations. A Cross-Bolt Safety was implemented in 1982. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders.

1974 Belgium Browning, P35 Hi-Power Pistol (4.75"), 9mm Luger, Semi-Auto, 74C24395

Lot # 59

According to the Browning Serial Number Database, this P35 Hi-Power pistol was produced in Belgium in 1974. SPECS: 4.75" stainless barrel, two-piece checkered walnut grip...mores, serrated spur hammer, serrated thumb safety/ slide stop, loaded chamber indicator, high luster polished bluing, dovetailed adjustable rear sight, Patridge front sight and comes with (2) 13-round magazines. The pistol is often referred to as an HP or BHP, and the terms P-35 and HP-35 are also used based on the introduction of the pistol in 1935. During WWII, production was moved to Canada as the Germans occupied Belgium, and this is where the name was changed to "Hi-Power". The name change was kept even after production returned to Belgium after the war. The Hi-Power is one of the most widely used military pistols in history having been used by the armed forces of over 50 countries. Browning P35 Hi-Powers were first imported into the U.S. in 1954. After 82 years of continuous production, FN Herstal announced that the production of the Hi-Power would end, and it was discontinued in early 2018 by Browning Arms. However, in 2022, presumably to compete with the sudden surge in Hi-Power popularity, FN announced they would resume production of the Browning Hi-Power. SCARCE - 1983 Smith & Wesson 547 (4"), 9mm Para, Revolver, 19D8026

Lot # 71

Smith & Wesson produced 10,270 Model 547s from 1980 to 1985; 6,486 with a 3" barrel, and 3,784 with 4" barrel. According to the Standard Catalog Of Smith & Wesson's book,...more this Model 547 was made in circa 1983. CONDITION: This revolver is nice condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: Writers of the day suggested that the Model 547 was developed in response to an inquiry from the French government in the late 1970s to provide a 9mm revolver for police use. One of their requirements was a revolver that could function with the rimless 9mm round without using moon clips. Roger Curran, who was the Director of Research and Development at S&W at that time, led the project. At some point, the French reconsidered and took a different path. Curran had invested a lot of time and resources in the project and drove on. After three years, the 547 was introduced to the United States commercial market. It was no easy task getting it to work right without moon clips. Curran’s team came up with some incredibly innovative ways to make the 547 function like the French had originally requested. With only a little over 10,000 Model 547s produced in the early 1980s, these revolvers have become very sought after by collectors. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders.
