1993 Smith & Wesson 3566 Briley - USPSA (5"), 356 TSW, Semi-Auto Pistol, BRI0025

Lot # 101

Produced only in 1993, the Smith & Wesson Model 3566 Briley Pistol was a custom-built target pistol designed for the USPSA by Smith & Wesson and master gunsmith Briley's ...moreClaudio Salassa. These target pistols were built on Lew Horton Performance Center Model 3566s and chambered in the proprietary .356 TSW (9x21.5 mm) cartridge. Less than 200 were produced. The .356 TSW is roughly a .357 SIG in terms of power and was intended for limited division competition. Unfortunately, rule modifications addressing its use quickly made it obsolete. Some of the features include a match grade barrel, titanium barrel bushing, hand rubbed stainless finish, oversized frame rails, adjustable trigger, hand-fitted slide & barrel, adjustable Bo-Mar sights, checkered front strap and an extended magwell. ADDITIONAL SPECS: Stipple textured walnut target grips, 5" barrel, ported compensator, extended slide handle, serrated controls, oversized magazine release button with checkering, spur hammer, SA trigger, checkered trigger guard, 15-round stainless steel magazine and mounted Millett SP-1 red-dot sight. The Ruger New Model Blackhawk is the most advanced single-action revolver ever made. New Model Blackhawk revolvers have earned a reputation as the most durable single-action revolvers on the market today. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. Ruger New Blackhawk "Bisley" (7.5"), 30 Carbine, Revolver (W/ Box), 51-41664

SPECS: Alloy steel construction with blued barrel/ receiver frame/ cylinder & trigger, polished stainless grip frame/ trigger guard/ hammer & ejector housing, smooth green laminate grips with silver Ruger logo medallion inlays, 7.5" cold hammer-forged barrel, adjustable rear sight pinned to the channel, Patridge front sight and 6-shot cylinder. This revolver comes in the original grey hardcase with paperwork. CONDITION: This revolver is in same-as-new condition with no wear, has a perfect sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: Bisley is the location of a shooting range in Great Britain. In the early days of the 20th century, the great handgun marksmen of the world gathered there to fire a variety of matches. International shooting always placed a heavy premium on pure accuracy, and it happened that the term “Bisley” became synonymous with superb performance. Colt Firearms, the giant of the handgun industry around the turn of the century, took note of this fact and developed a Bisley Model. It was a variation of the eternally popular Single Action Army with contour changes contrived to make the gun easier to shoot. The hammer spur was low and wide making the gun easier to cock. Another feature of the Colt Bisley was much more visually striking—the butt shape. The curve of the revolver front strap is very high and arched. The effect of this shape was to move the shooter’s hand closer to the axis of the bore and thereby aid in recovery from recoil. In the early 1980s, Bill Ruger decided to build a modernized Bisley, based on his well-established Blackhawk and Single-Six revolvers. In essence, Ruger wanted to create a revolver that did the same things for shooters of the late 20th century that Colt’s Bisley had done for competitors of the early 20th Century. Ruger Bisley models are not exact replicas of the Colt, but rather a completely updated and much improved revolver well-suited for field shooters who fire the magnum ammo. BLACKHAWK HISTORY: The Ruger Blackhawk is a six-shot, single-action revolver that was introduced in 1955. The early Blackhawk models (pre-1974) still operated the same way as the Colt SAA in that the hammer was half cocked to load and unload, and that the firearm was not safe to carry with all six chambers loaded due to the hammer resting upon the sixth chamber. In 1973, in order to eliminate accidents occurring from the hammer jarring against a round loaded in the sixth chamber, Ruger introduced the "New Model" Blackhawk. The New Model Blackhawk did not require the hammer to be half cocked for loading and unloading, and it employed a transfer bar mechanism which prevented the cartridge under the hammer from being fired without the trigger being pulled. The Ruger New Model Blackhawk is the most advanced single-action revolver ever made. New Model Blackhawk revolvers have earned a reputation as the most durable single-action revolvers on the market today. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders.
