1989 Belgium Browning, BAR Type-2 Grade-I, 30-06 Sprg., Semi-Auto (W/ Box), SN - 137PN09820

Lot # 27

The Browning BAR is one of those key firearms which have defined the Browning mystique throughout the last century. Much of the fame of today's sporting BAR began through...more the fame of the original military BAR designed by John M. Browning near the end of World War I. Introduced in 1967, the Browning BAR Sporting Rifle is certainly a distinct and separate rifle from the military BAR M1918, but its design is the result of Browning's unmatched understanding and expertise with automatic rifles that started with John M. Browning. His grandson, Bruce Browning, was the driving force behind today's BAR. A large team of automatic firearm's experts at the FN factory in Belgium also played a key role in its development. This group of FN automatic rifle designers, lead by Marcel Olinger, began serious work on the project code named "Carbine 66," with full-scale development and testing done throughout 1966 in preparation for an official 1967 product launch. The BAR rifle was initially produced totally in Belgium, and then assembly was transferred to Portugal in the early 1970s. BARs were manufactured in three production runs, also known as Types - Rifles before 1976 are called Type 1, between 1976 and 1992 are Type 2 and in 1993 the Mark II versions were introduced, which are still in production today. This Browning BAR Type-2 Grade-I was made in Belgium in 1989 and sports an outline checkered walnut stock with high gloss finish, black buttpad, high gloss bluing finish, 22" barrel, Williams adjustable ramp rear sight, ramped dovetail front sight, sling studs and Leupold scope mount with rings. This gun is in nice condition with some light wear, has a sharp/ clean bore, appears to be in good working order and comes in original box with manual.

1943 WWII Japanese, Nambu Type 94 Pistol, 8×22mm, Semi-Auto, SN - 34469

Lot # 34

The Japanese Type 94 pistol entered production in 1935, with approximately 71,000 manufactured before production ended in 1945. It was designed for (and popular among) Ja...morepanese tank and aircraft crews who preferred a smaller, lightweight designed pistol. Unlike previously designed Nambu pistols, the Type 94 operates with a concealed hammer and with a firing pin rather than a hammer. The quality of Type 94 Nambu pistols decreased towards the end of World War II as the Japanese faced bombing raids from Allied forces and material shortages increased. As Bakelite became increasingly unavailable, the earlier Bakelite grips were replaced with smooth wooden grips, often called "slab" grips. This WWII Japanese Type 94 pistol is stamped "18.5" on the right side, which represents a production date of January, 1943, along with the kanji character sho (short for Showa), which was the name of Hirohito’s reign, and the Nagoya Arsenal logo next to the company logo of Chuo Kogyo (the actual manufacturer). Features include a 3.78" barrel, black checkered Bakelite grips and 6-round period correct magazine with Japanese proof marks. This gun is missing the lanyard ring, which would have been located behind the safety latch, but is in good original condition with a sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.

1968 Belgium Browning / Sako, Safari Grade High Power, 308 Win., Bolt-Action, SN - 9298Z8

Lot # 35

In 1960, Browning introduced the FN High Power bolt-action, made in Belgium along distinctly American lines. It was based on a commercial FN claw-extractor action and cam...moree in three grades: Safari, Medallion, and Olympian. The FN rifles ran from 1960 to 1974, at which time Sako of Finland actions were used exclusively. The High Power was a distinctive-looking rifle. The bolt-handles were chromed, the stocks were shiny, and the stocks were of very showy claro walnut from America. The barrels used a stepped taper and were fitted with unusually fine iron sights. The metalwork was immaculate. FN used a bright blue, and the polishing was flawless. The FN Mauser actions that went into Brownings are a perfect illustration of why people get all misty-eyed about Mausers. This Browning FN High-Power Safari Grade sports a Sako (Finland) barreled action, double outline checkered Monte Claro walnut stock with high fluted comb/ raised cheek and gloss finish, floral scroll engraved floorplate & trigger guard with gold filling, brightly polished bolt handle, black buttpad, 22" barrel with high luster polished bluing, adjustable folding rear sight, hooded ramp front sight and sling studs. This gun is in beautiful condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.

1944 WWII Japanese, Nambu Type 14, 8×22mm, Semi-Auto, SN - 58610

Lot # 38

The Nambu is a series of recoil operated, locked breech, slanted grip, semi-automatic pistols first produced in 1904 by the Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal. The series has th...moreree variants, the Type A, the Type B (also known as the Baby Nambu), and the Type 14. The Nambu pistols were designed to replace Japan's earlier service pistol, the Type 26 revolver. The Type 14 Nambu is chambered for the 8×22mm cartridge and gets its name from the year it was produced - the 14th year of the Taisho era, or 1926, and were used mostly by officers who had to pay for their pistols themselves. From 1927, it was a standard issue sidearm for officers and used through WWII. It is believed that around 400,000 Type 14 Nambus were produced, but the exact number is unknown as Japanese soldiers considered their weapons property of the emperor, and many chose to destroy their pistols or throw them into the ocean to avoid them falling into enemy hands. According to the markings and serial number on this pistol, it was made at the Nagoya arsenal in 1944. The characters on the right side/ rear frame designates the reign of the Showa Emperor (Hirohito) and the date 19.9, indicating the nineteenth year, ninth month of Hirohito’s reign (September, 1944). This gun appears to be all original with a numbers matching magazine and sports a 4.61" barrel. This gun is in nice condition with light wear, has a sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.

Colt, Delta Elite MK IV 1911A1, 10mm Auto, Semi-Auto, (New-In-Hardcase), SN - DS32963

Lot # 40

In 1911, the U.S. Army adopted the finest combat handgun ever fielded, the Colt Government Model of 1911, designed by John Moses Browning. The 1911 was a triumph of desig...moren and a great handgun in every sense of the word. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985 and is widely regarded by gun historians as the best firearm design to date. Battlefield experience in World War I led to some small external changes to the M1911 completed in 1924. The new version was called the M1911A1. Today, the 1911A1 is a treasured handgun among Elite Military Units and will always hold great value with Firearm Collectors. Released in 1987, the Colt Delta Elite is a modified M1911A1 pistol, Series 80 configuration, chambered for the 10mm Auto. The pistol was dropped from production in 1996 due to lackluster sales. 1973 Weatherby, Regency Trap - Angelo Engraved W/ Gold, 12 Ga. (32" F/ IM), Over/ Under, SN - R03029

Lot # 41

While the name Weatherby has long been synonymous with top-quality centerfire rifles, there have been a number of different shotguns along the way as well. Roy Weatherby ...morestarted his custom rifle business in 1945 in an empty garage behind his home, but it was not until much later that he started selling shotguns. His first one, an over-under double called the "Regency", was built by the Italian gunmaker Angelo Zoli and introduced in 1970. Seven years later it was joined by the less expensive Olympian which was manufactured in Japan by Nikko Kodensha. Then in 1980, all over-under production was shifted to the Japanese firm of SKB where the Athena and Orion were built until 2007. The Italian crafted Regencys were by far the highest quality shotguns ever sold by Weatherby. These guns were hand crafted by legendary craftsman Angelo Zoli. In 1973 a standard grade Regency sold for $600 ($3200 in today's dollars). Italian Weatherby Regencys were produced in two grades, Standard & Trap, and although both models featured engraved receivers and high quality functionality, the Trap Grade Model was nothing less than a work-of-art. 1930s German, Mauser C96 Model 1930, 7.63×25 (.30 Mauser), Semi-Auto, SN - 905241

Lot # 42

In 1896, Mauser introduced the Mauser C96 Self-loading Pistol chambered in 7.63mm. Known as the "Broomhandle", they were produced until 1937. The Mauser C96's “Broomhandl...moree” nickname caught on in the English-speaking world, a reference to the gun’s round wooden grip. Germany’s defeat in WW1 temporarily halted production of the Mauser C96, due to restrictions on German weapons production at the Treaty of Versailles. Nearly 130 years later, the Mauser C96 pistol is still one of the most sought-after collector guns around. Carried by Winston Churchill during the Boer Wars and T.E. Lawrence during the Arab Revolt, the Mauser C96 is a gun as legendary as it is unique. The exotic look of the Mauser C96 made it a favorite in the entertainment industry, with author Ian Fleming depicting Mauser pistols as the preferred sidearm of the sinister SMERSH agents in the James Bond series, and the Mauser played a prominent role in Clint Eastwood’s 1972 Western, "Joe Kidd". Today, the C96 can be found on screen in period dramas like Peaky Blinders. The C96 Model 1930 was produced from 1930 until 1937. This Mauser C96 Model 1930 is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR D.R.P.u.A.P." on right hand side frame, Mauser banner logo on the left side and Crown over crowned letter U proof mark on the top. It sports a 5.5" stepped profile barrel, ring-shaped hammer, 50-1000 meters graduated rear sight , 4th style "Universal" type safety catch, integral trigger unit, 12-groove wooden grips and 10-round internal magazine. This gun is missing the lanyard ring under the grips, but is in good overall condition, has a sharp bore with light pitting and appears to be in good working order.

WWII German, Vis-35 Radom - Grade III, 9mm Luger, Semi-Auto, SN - C9450

Lot # 46

The Vis-35 Radom is a 9×19mm caliber, single-action, semi-automatic pistol. Its design was inspired by John Browning's 9mm "Browning GP" pistol which was completed after ...moreBrowning's death by designers at Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium. Production of the Vis began at the Fabryka Broni arms factory in Radom in 1935, and was adopted as the standard handgun of the Polish Army the following year. After the German occupation of Poland in 1939, production was turned over to the Nazis. The pistol was valued by German soldiers, and many were issued to elite paratrooper units. The Vis-35 was manufactured through WWII and was produced in 3 major variations (Grades). Grade-IIIs were late-war production guns, also known as the "two lever" gun, that was completed without a rear takedown lever. The design of the Vis-35 bears many internal and external similarities to the famous Colt M1911A1 to the point that some parts are almost interchangeable. This WWII German Vis-35 Grade-III (without take-down lever) is Nazi proof marked throughout, including magazine, and sports a 4.5" barrel, lanyard ring, brown checkered Bakelite grips and semi-concealed round serrated hammer. This gun is showing some wear, but overall is in good condition with an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.

Benelli, Montefeltro Silver, 12 Ga. (28"), Semi-Auto (NIB W/ Hardcase & Chokes), SN - MS12-7258K14

Lot # 49

The Benelli Montefeltro Silver is a highly functional and ultra reliable Semi-Auto Shotgun combined with elegant lines and refined artwork. The Montefeltro Silver feature...mores a beautifully figured AA-grade, oil finished walnut stock, and an engraved nickel-plated alloy receiver with gold game bird inlays. The slim, trim, and lightweight design makes the Montefeltro an ideal shotgun for upland game hunting, or any shooting sport that involves a lot of walking, or the need for a fast handling, fast shooting semi-automatic shotgun. At the heart of the Montefeltro is Benelli's ultra-reliable Inertia Driven operating system that cycles both 2-3/4" field loads and 3" magnums interchangeably without adjustments. The recoil operated Inertia Driven System is the epitome of simplicity with just 3 main parts: the bolt body, an inertia spring, and a rotating bolt head. This super simple design does not use gas to cycle the action, so smoke and burnt powder residue do not enter the gun's mechanism, allowing it to remain cleaner than a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun. The smaller mass of parts in the action, and no heavy gas operating components housed inside the forend make the Montefeltro an extremely lightweight, fast handling upland bird gun made to shoulder in an instant and point naturally. Though the Montefeltro is lightweight, the rotating bolt head features steel locking lugs that lock into the steel barrel extension creating a steel-to-steel lock that becomes even tighter during firing. The Benelli Montefeltro is known to withstand hundreds of thousands of rounds with no failures, and is famous as an ultra-reliable semi-auto shotgun for high volume shooting sports. The Montefeltro Silver Semi-Auto Shotgun uses Crio System barrels and choke tubes which create an even-grained, slick surface resulting in less resistance against wads and shot for uniform shot patterns and cleaner barrels. This gun sports a lightweight 28" barrel, low profile ventilated rib, with a red bar front sight and mid bead. This gun is new-in-box (unfired), appears to be in good working order and comes in grey hardcase with 5 Crio screw-in choke tubes, shim kit, choke wrench, oil and paperwork.
