1959 S&W, (First Year) 48 K-22 Masterpiece (No Dash), 22 Magnum, Revolver (W/ Box), K361943

Lot # 200

The Smith & Wesson Model 48 K-22 Masterpiece is a six-shot double-action revolver that was introduced in May, 1959, and was simply a Model 17 chambered for .22 Winchester...more Magnum Rimfire. At the time, S&W called the .22 WMR the "22 M.R.F." (Magnum Rim Fire) and stamped the barrels of their Model 48 revolvers accordingly. The Model 48 was a first rate .22 Magnum hunting revolver that was offered with a 4, 6, or 8-3/8 inch barrel. All Model 48s were carbon steel target revolvers with a 1/8 inch wide Patridge type front sight on a raised and grooved full length ribbed barrel and sported a micro adjustable (for windage and elevation) rear sight. They came with carefully fitted actions, a double latch cylinder, grooved target trigger, grooved front and back grip straps and checkered walnut Magna grips. The Model 48 Masterpiece was manufactured until 1986. During its production run, there were five minor engineering changes and the revolvers are stamped accordingly on the frame inside of the cylinder crane (Model 48, 48-1, 48-2, 48-3 and 48-4). Production of the Model 48 started 5/21/1959 at serial number K348746. Just a few months later the Model 48-1 was introduced with a change to the extractor rod thread from right hand to left hand. Very few original Model 48s (no dash) were produced. The exact number is unknown to collectors. The 48-4 was the last numbered engineering change and was introduced in 1977. This original 1959 Model 48 (no dash) sports a 6" barrel, checkered flat butt grips and comes in original box. This gun is in beautiful condition with no wear to speak of at all, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.... This gun is from the Robert Orval Hellenthal Estate Collection (1927-2022). All proceeds have been willed to the Divine Mercy Parish Church.

1918 U.S. Army, Colt Model 1911, 45 ACP, Semi-Auto, SN - 249923

Lot # 202

Designed by John Browning, the Model 1911 Colt Government is the best known of his designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. The pistol was widely co...morepied, and this operating system rose to become the pre-eminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern centerfire pistols. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985, and is widely regarded by gun historians as the best firearm design to date. Battlefield experience in World War I led to some small external changes to the M1911 completed in 1924. The new version was called the M1911 A1. During WWII, production of M1911 A1 pistols were given a parkerized metal finish instead of bluing, and the wood grip panels were replaced with panels made of brown plastic. This U.S. Army Colt 1911 reflects a production date of 1918, and supports the correct JMG Monogram: J.M. Gilbert found on Colt 1911s from 1917 to 1918, and is correctly marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" (left side of frame), "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" (right side of slide), and 1913 patent dated slide. This gun also sports an "RIA" stamp on the right side of the frame which means it went through a Rock Island Arsenal "A1" rebuild, which appears to have occurred sometime during WWII, indicated by the parkerized finish & grips. This gun sports a parkerized metal finish, 5" barrel, safety grip, lanyard ring and period correct Keyes Fiber Co. checkered brown plastic grips. This gun is in nice condition with light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.... This gun is from the Robert Orval Hellenthal Estate Collection (1927-2022). All proceeds have been willed to the Divine Mercy Parish Church.

1997 Winchester, Model 94AE Ranger (20"), 30-30 Win., Lever-Action (NIB), SN - 6331427

Lot # 203

The Winchester Model 1894, or Model 94, is a lever-action repeating rifle & carbine that became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time. It was desi...moregned by John Browning in 1894, and originally chambered to fire two metallic black powder cartridges, the .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester. It was the first rifle to chamber the smokeless powder round, the .30 WCF in 1895. It was produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company through 1980, and then by U.S. Repeating Arms under the Winchester brand until they ceased manufacturing rifles in 2006. In 1983, Winchester introduced the Model 94 A.E. (A.E. stands for angle eject). They modified the ejector and opened up the ejection port on the Model 94 to attempt to throw the empty shell casings out the top, but at an approximate 45 degree angle which should clear a top-mounted scope. This Model 94AE "Ranger" was made in circa 1997, and features a smooth hardwood stock with stained finish, 20" barrel with full length magazine tube, cross bolt safety, black checkered buttpad, adjustable elevator semi-buckhorn rear sight and dovetailed front sight. This gun appears to be new/ unfired, has a perfect bore, appears to be in good working order and comes in original box with paperwork and hammer thumb extension.

1945 WWII German Walther, P38, 9mm Luger, Semi-Auto, SN - 5943c

Lot # 206

The P38 is a 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol that was developed by Carl Walther GmbH as the service pistol of the German Army at the beginning of World War II. The P.38 w...moreas a groundbreaking semi-automatic pistol design which introduced technical features still used today in current commercial and military semi-automatic pistols. It was the first locked-breech pistol to use a double-action/single-action (DA/SA) trigger. The P38 also introduced a visible and tactile loaded chamber indicator in the form of a metal rod that protrudes from the rear of the slide when a round is chambered. The Walther P.38 was in production from 1939 to 1945. During WWII, the P.38 was produced by three separate manufacturers: Walther, Mauser, and Spreewerk. To conceal manufacturer identities, each wartime manufacturer used a letter code: ac (Walther); byf (Mauser), and cyq (Spreewerk). This P.38 is slide marked "ac" (Walther), "45" (1945) along with German/ Nazi proof marks throughout. This gun is not numbers matching: frame serial number is 5943c & the slide serial number is 6694c. 1900 Savage, Model 1899, 303 Savage, Lever-Action, SN - 18693

Lot # 207

The Savage Model 1899, or Model 99, is a series of hammerless lever- action rifles made from 1899 to 1998. The Model 99 was extremely popular with big game hunters at the...more turn of the 20th Century. The most desirable and unique feature of the Model 99 was the use of a six-shot rotary magazine to hold the cartridges. The rotating magazine uses a spring-loaded spool with grooves to hold the cartridges. It took advantage of the spool to include a counter to indicate how many shots are left. The rotating magazine design allowed it to be one of the first lever-action rifles to use spitzer bullets. Previous lever-action rifles used tubular magazines which placed cartridges of ammunition end to end. The pointed tips of a spitzer bullet would touch the primer of the cartridge in front of it, possibly causing an accidental discharge. The Model 99 continued using this system for many years, until its replacement with a detachable magazine. Another novel feature on this rifle was a small pin that would protrude above the top of the bolt to indicate the rifle was cocked and ready to fire. This Model 1899 was made in 1900, is chambered for 303 Savage caliber, and sports a smooth walnut stock Schnabel forearm tip, curved metal buttplate, 26" octagon barrel, adjustable elevator semi-buckhorn rear sight, Lyman's ivory bead front blade sight and brass shell lifter. This gun is in good condition for its age with some wear to include a hairline crack at the receiver tang & chip on the forearm tip, has a nice sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.

1943 WWII U.S. Remington, 1903-A4 Sniper (W/ 1964 Armory Receipt), 30-06 Sprg., SN - 3426608

Lot # 209

The M1903 is a five-round, magazine fed, bolt-action U.S. service rifle used primarily during the first half of the 20th century. It was officially adopted as a United St...moreates military bolt-action rifle on June 19, 1903, and saw service in World War I. It was officially replaced as the standard infantry rifle by the faster-firing semi-automatic eight-round M1 Garand starting in 1936. However, the M1903 remained in service as a standard issue infantry rifle during World War II since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. It also remained in service as a sniper rifle during World War II, the Korean War, and even in the early stages of the Vietnam War. Standard M1903 production was discontinued in 1942 in favor of the M1903-A3. The most noticeable visual difference in the M1903-A3 was the replacement of the barrel-mounted rear sight with a smaller, simpler aperture rear sight mounted on the rear of the receiver; it was primarily adopted in order to speed familiarization by soldiers already trained on the M1 Garand which had a similar sighting system. Although Springfield Armory was the primary manufacturer of the M1903, WWII saw new production of the Springfield at private manufacturers such as the Remington Arms and Smith-Corona Typewriter companies. Remington began production of the M1903 in September, 1941, at serial number 3,000,000 and delivered the first Model 1903-A3s in December, 1942. The U.S. Sniper Rifle Model 1903-A4 guns were assembled from Remington 1903-A3 rifles selected for their superior accuracy, fitted with pistol-grip stocks, and scoped with Weaver 330C telescopic sights. (Model 1903-A4 rifles will also be found fitted with a semi-pistol grip, the so-called "scant" stock.) No front or rear sights were fitted, the bolt handle was bent to clear the scope, and the magazine had to be loaded with individual rounds because the scope mount did not allow the use of chargers. It was the standard U.S. Army sniper rifle in World War II and remained in use throughout the Korean War. This Remington Model 1903-A4 Sniper was made in 1943 and is marked: Barrel "R.A. 9-43", "R" (Remington) bolt/ handle stamps, as well as other correct "R" marked parts, Stock "RA" Crossed Cannons "FJA" (Remington Arms - Col. Frank J. Atwood) and sports a Weaver Model 330 scope with period correct military pencil etchings. Other features include a green parkerized finish, 24" barrel, Redfield scope mount, walnut stock & handguard, sling rings, bayonet lug and checkered metal buttplate with cleaning kit compartment. This gun comes with the original purchase receipt dated July 7th, 1964, from Red River Army Depot for $14.50. This gun is in nice condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.... This gun is from the Robert Orval Hellenthal Estate (1927-2022) - the receipt lists Robert Hellenthal as the purchaser, which makes this a one-owner military surplus rifle.... All proceeds from this Estate Collection have been willed to the Divine Mercy Parish Church.

The Springfield Model 1922 is a .22 caliber bolt-action rifle that was built as a cadet rifle designed to mimic the M1903 Springfield rifle for training purposes. 1950 Marlin, Model 336SC, 35 Rem., Lever-Action, SN - G1272

Lot # 215

The Model 336 is a direct development of the Marlin Model 1893 which was produced from 1893 to 1936. Based on the patents of L.L. Hepburn, the Model 1893 incorporated a n...moreew locking bolt system and a two-piece firing pin. In 1936, with only minor changes to the stock, forearm, and sights, the Model 1893 was redesignated the Model 1936 (soon renamed the Model 36). All of these firearms featured a solid-top receiver made of forged steel and incorporated side ejection of fired cartridges. Compared to the Winchester 94, then the predominant lever-action hunting rifle, the Model 36 was somewhat heavier with a simpler internal mechanism and a full pistol grip-type buttstock in contrast to the Winchester 94's straight grip stock. In 1948, the Model 36 was replaced by the Model 336 which was sold under both the Marlin and Glenfield brands. When Marlin first introduced the Model 336 in 1948, the company made three versions: The Model 336A, which was a rifle with a 24" barrel, the Model 336RC, which was a carbine with a 20" barrel and a full length magazine tube, and the Model 336SC with a 20" barrel and shorter (half) magazine tube. The Model 336 has been in continuous production from 1948 to the present day, and is currently produced by Ruger Firearms under the Marlin brand. This Marlin Model 336SC was made in 1950, and features a smooth walnut stock with large rounded forearm/ fluted comb & gloss finish, black checkered buttpad with white spacer, black grip cap with white spacer, 20" barrel, serrated receiver top, Lyman #56 receiver mounted fully adjustable rear peep sight, Marble rear dovetail insert and ramped dovetail white bead front sight. This gun is in nice condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.... 1959 Colt, SAA "Frontier Scout" - Second Gen., 22 LR, Revolver (W/ Box), SN - 56845F

Lot # 216

The Colt Single Action Army (SAA) is a single-action revolver designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Com...morepany and was adopted as the standard military service revolver until 1892. At the beginning of World War II, Colt ceased production of the Single Action Army revolver to devote more time to filling orders for the war. When the war ended, the advent of television and Western themed movies created customer demand for the revolver, so Colt resumed manufacturing in 1956 with the Second Generation line of Single Action Army revolvers. These Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolvers were produced from 1956 to 1974. A Third Generation began in 1975, characterized by a change in barrel thread pitch and a solid cylinder bushing replacing the removable/replaceable part from the first and second generations. A Cross-Bolt Safety was implemented in 1982. The Colt Frontier Scout was born in 1957 and was made until 1970 when Colt carried on with their Peacemaker 22 and then later a “New Frontier Scout”. The Frontier Scout was scaled down slightly and was lighter than its bigger bore brother. This Second Generation Colt SAA "Frontier Scout" was made in 1959, and sports a 4.75" barrel, fixed groove rear sight, fixed blade front sight, black checkered grips with Roaring Colt logo, serrated hammer and comes in original box. This gun is in same-as-new condition with no wear to speak of, has a sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.... This gun is from the Robert Orval Hellenthal Estate Collection (1927-2022). All proceeds have been willed to the Divine Mercy Parish Church.

1974 Colt, SAA "New Frontier" - Second Gen., 22 Mag. & LR, Revolver (NIB), SN - G165536

A Cross-Bolt Safety was implemented in 1982. The New Frontier was introduced in 1961, and the name “New Frontier” took advantage of the slogan made popular by President John F. Kennedy. This Second Generation Colt SAA "New Frontier" dual cylinder convertible was made in 1974, and sports a 4.25" barrel, black checkered grips with Roaring Colt & U.S. Eagle Crest, adjustable rear sight pinned to the channel, case hardened frame, Patridge front sight and comes in original box with paperwork and both cylinders. 1973 Winchester, Model 9422M, 22 Win. Mag., Lever-Action, SN - F101875

Lot # 219

Called by some “The best rifle Winchester has made since 1964,” the rimfire Model 9422 lever action was made from 1972 to 2004. Engineered to utilize a modified version o...moref Winchester’s super-reliable Model 61 slide-action rimfire mechanism but mirroring the look and feel of the legendary Model 1894 centerfire lever-action rifles, it was a rip-roaring success. The Model 9422 was intended—and by many accounts succeeded—in re-establishing Winchester’s reputation as a premium firearms manufacturer. Frames were forged and then milled. Internal components were of top-shelf quality—no pot metal or stamped parts. Stocks were nice walnut and were well-fitted and beautifully finished. Like the ancestral Model 61, all 9422s were takedowns, although that’s not visually obvious. By removing a large screw from the left rear side of the action, the front and rear halves of the rifle may be separated. From the get-go, Model 9422s proved to be wonderfully reliable. Receivers are solid-topped and grooved for scope rings. Because the ejection port is high on the right side, the action is an angle-eject design that doesn’t interfere with mounting an optic—the first lever action of its type from Winchester. This Model 9422M (Magnum) was made in 1973, and sports a smooth walnut stock with oiled finish, polished blued receiver/ barrel, 20" barrel with full length magazine tube, hooded ramped front sight, stainless steel tube, black checkered buttpad, 11+1 capacity, William hammer thumb extension and period correct Redfield 4X scope. This gun is in beautiful condition with no wear to speak of, has a perfect sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.... This gun is from the Robert Orval Hellenthal Estate Collection (1927-2022). All proceeds have been willed to the Divine Mercy Parish Church.
