R. Atkinson Fox "Sunrise" Print

Lot # 25 (Sale Order: 25 of 352)

The image showing on thisbeautiful vintage R. Atkinson Fox print from the 1920s measures approximately15-1/2" wide x 19-3/4" tall with the frame being approximately17-3/4" wide x 22"tall. The print appears to be clean and in excellent condition with no visible rips and tears. It has vibrant colors, which istypical of Robert Atkinson Fox's artwork. Robert Atkinson Fox was a Philadelphia artist who produced more than 1,000 works of art from 1900 until his death; millions of the artist's color photo-lithographic reproductions prints were consumed by the American middle-class. Fox was born in Toronto, Canadain 1860, but immigrated to the United States somewhere between 1885 and 1890. Being a prolific painter, he worked as an artist both in Toronto and in the United States and appears to have enjoyed great commercial success. This is straight from an estate, and as you can see, this print was re-framed at some time. This piece has no signature; however, we believe it is a Fox print. We did not try to inspect it because we did not want to damage the piece in the process. Please feel assured, if there is ANY misrepresentation, we stand by what we sell; we are happy to discuss the piece if you feel its not authentic.
