1968 Volvo 121 "Amazon"

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 2 of 28)

Volvo 121 "Amazon"

Year of manufacture: 1968
Engine capacity (ccm): 1.780
Power output: 55 kW / 75 PS
Top speed: 148 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 138.000 km
Production period: 1956 - 1970

Vehicle description:
This Volvo 121 was built in 1968, the founding year of the rockband Led Zeppelin, who incidentally performed in Sweden during their very first tour. In 1968, the successor model would already have been available, yet the first owner chose the tried and tested 121 instead. According to the consignor, this car had gone through two ownerships when he purchased it in Sweden in 2006 (the year before Led Zeppelin's final revival concert...). He himself drove the car on its own wheels to Germany without any issues. A few years before, in 1996, the "Amazon" is said to have been treated to a partial chassis overhaul and repainting at the Volvo plant. The ice blue exterior goes very nicely with the black vinyl interior, all in good shape. Some microbubbles on the paint, as seen on the boot lid and the rear body panels, are the unfortunate result of a winter in moist conditions, but don't tarnish the positive overall impression much.
The B18 engine, a 1.8 litre four-cylinder, produces 55 kW (75 hp) of power. As a late model 121, this example is already equipped with disc brakes and brake booster, features which were introduced for the model years 1964 and 1965 respectively. This car has German registration documents, valid technical approval until 06/2018 and historic plates.
If you've always been feeling a "whole lotta love" for these beautiful Swedish steel Amazons, don't miss your chance!

Model history:
As opposed to many other manufacturers, Volvo did not immediately discontinue an outgoing model as soon as the successor had been put on the market. The Volvo 121 was presented in 1956, but the PV 544 ("hunchback Volvo") it was set to replace lived on for another couple of years. Similarly, the last 121 rolled off the assembly line in 1970, when the 140 series was in its fourth year of production. Production of the "Amazon", as the car is known as, lasted for a full 14 years, with fairly few changes. Volvo introduced seat belts as standard on the 121 in 1959, the world's first manufacturer to do so. Originally, the four-door sedan was the only available body type. The coupe-like two door sedan followed 1961, it eventually became the most popular model. In 1962, the P 221 station wagon with its typical two-piece tailgate was added. The very durable 1.6 and 1.8 litre four-cylinder engines were essentially carried over from the predecessor. For the last years of production, a 2.0 litre variant was made available. The 121 also provided the platform for both the P1800 sport coupe as well as the 1800 ES ("snowwhite's coffin"). In total, 667,791 vehicles of the "Amazon" series were built, about 60 % are said to have gone to export markets.

1984 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 3 of 28)

Mercedes-Benz 500 SL

Year of manufacture: 1984
Engine capacity (ccm): 4.973
Power output: 170 kW / 231 PS
Top speed: 220 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 220.800 mls
Production period: 1971 - 1989

Vehicle description:
An impressive Mercedes-Benz 500 SL is being offered here. The exact history of the vehicle is not known and it seems to be a European delivery, as can also be seen by the bumpers and headlights.
The mighty 5.0 litre V8 produces 170 kW (231 hp) and is mated to the 4-speed automatic gearbox.
With its dark blue paintwork and tan MB tex interior, the SL still looks elegant after 30 years. The convertible top in matching dark blue is in an acceptable condition regarding the age of the vehicle. Traces of a not very professionally repaired accident damage remain visible on the right hand side of the car.
The SL features the 2+2 seater arrangement. Driver and passenger seats appear to have been re-upholstered given the good condition. Dashboard and centre console are slightly cracked, but altogether the car is in an acceptable condition regarding its mileage of over 220,000 mls.
A rare factory option in 1984 was the driver's airbag, which is installed here, as well as the climate control (currently not working). Owner's manual and service booklet - the latter in French - are included with this interesting convertible, which is being sold as a restoration object due to the considerably required repairs on body and mechanical parts.

Model history:
A dream of automobile! From 1971 - 1989 the R107 founded the unbeatable reputation of the brand Mercedes-Benz in the open two-seater segment.

The top model 500 SL - equipped with the 450 SLC 5.0 known 5.0 litre V8 engine (M 117) - replaced the 450 SL and from the beginning with its 240, later 245 hp (or 223 hp with catalytic converter). This brings the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and delivers a top speed of 225 km/h (with catalyst 215 km/h). The production of the R 107 series ended in August 1989, more than 18 years after it had started. This makes it one of the longest-built chassis from Mercedes-Benz. A total of 237,287 open vehicles were produced at the Sindelfingen main plant.

This vehicle set plenty of standards through continuous innovation and has become one of the eternal automobile classics.

A must-have for classic car connoisseurs!

1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III

Lot # 4 (Sale Order: 4 of 28)

Jaguar E-Type Series III

Year of manufacture: 1972
Engine capacity (ccm): 5.343
Power output: 187 kW / 254 PS
Top speed: 235 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 33.003 mls
Production period: 1961 - 1974

Vehicle description:
This breathtakingly beautiful E-Type coupe, a 1972 model which was imported from the US, presents itself in the classic colour combination of white paintwork and black leather interior. It has the long wheelbase and the 2+2 seater arrangement which all Series III E-Types have in common. The mighty and prestigious 12-cylinder engine produces 187 kW (254 hp) from 5.3 litres of displacement. The engine in itself was almost a unique selling point in the 1970s, it offered a nearly unmatched performance - and it came bundled with the graceful elegance the E-Type became famous for.
This car presents itself, as far as the body is concerned, in a good condition for its age. The vehicle is devoid of any visible accident damage. Paintwork and chrome parts are well-kept. This Jaguar runs on beautiful spoke wheels, mostly in good condition. The black leather interior shows normal wear without cracks or splits of seats or dashboard. Air conditioning and a contemporary radio are on board.
The car is only conditionally drivable and the technical components (such as engine, exhaust system and electrics) need to be overhauled. With regards to the price development of these amazing British sports cars, the investment ought to prove worthwhile.

Model history:
The essence of automotive beauty

No other than Enzo Ferrari called the E-Type the most beautiful car ever made, and even if beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, not too many people would have contradicted him since. The debut of the XK-E, called "E-Type", in 1961 was nothing short of a sensation. Its unrivalled elegant styling was complemented by plenty of power, and all of that at a relatively moderate price.

Over the years, the successful model was modified in several ways: From the spring of 1966 there was a 2 + 2-seater version with an extended wheelbase. In 1967, the headlight covers fell victim to American safety regulations. On the engine side, there were six-cylinder engines with 3.8 and later 4.2 litres, and as of 1971, twelve-cylinder motors to choose from. Production of the compact two-seaters ceased in 1971, the so-called Series III was only offered as a 2+2-seater.

A classic of superlatives, that's all there is to it.

1965 Ford Mustang

Lot # 5 (Sale Order: 5 of 28)

Ford Mustang

Year of manufacture: 1965
Engine capacity (ccm): 4.700
Power output: 150 kW / 200 PS
Top speed: 186 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 46.090 mls
Production period: 1964 - 1973

Vehicle description:
This impressive 1965 Ford Mustang 2-door hardtop coupe in blue metallic has been imported from the US. What we've got here is a so-called "C-code" vehicle, which means it is powered by the 4.7 litre V8 engine with two-barrel carburetor and a power output of 150 kW (200 hp), connected to the rare 3-speed manual gearshift. One of the previous owners apparently bought it for its exceptional road performance.

The Mustang's interior is in nice condition, with only minor blemishes. While the sky is not in pristine condition anymore, the chrome parts are good, as are the sports rims. This Ford makes you feel like taking to the road directly, it may even make a fine daily driver.

It is getting exceedingly hard to find a good C-Code Mustang at a reasonable price. This may be just the opportunity you've been waiting for!

Model history:
The original pony car - a legend takes its course

Who would have guessed how big the market gap really was, before Ford bridged it with this car? Customers camping outside the shops in order to grab one of the desired models ... 680,000 units sold within two years ... America was upside down, because Ford's concept of "full performance at a fair price" had come to full fruition.

The Mustang was a trendsetter - so much so, the whole species of "Pony Cars" were named after it. Their typical features are the elongated hood, a relatively short tail, enough space for 4 people - but first and foremost, engines with more power than the running gear and braking system could handle ... Even the first generation Mustangs came with up to 400 hp from just under 7 litres' engine capacity.

The essence of "the American Way of Drive" , unadulterated and undiluted.

1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet

Lot # 6 (Sale Order: 6 of 28)

Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet

Year of manufacture: 1983
Engine capacity (ccm): 2.993
Power output: 132 kW / 180 PS
Top speed: 225 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 142.341 mls
Production period: 1973 - 1989

Vehicle description:
The classic car with the greatest appreciation over the past decade. Who would not want to own it?

The Porsche 911 is the sports car par excellence. The body is made entirely of galvanized steel. That's why Porsche gave a long-time warranty against corrosion.

This apparently accident-free 911, built in 1983, has recently been re-imported from the US and presents itself in good condition. The 3-litre six-cylinder boxer engine delivers powerful 150 kW (204 hp); the unwarranted mileage is 142,340 miles.

The paint in blue metallic and matching blue hood in conjunction with the 16" Fuchs wheels and the well-kept interior in black leather, make this car a real gem. It also features fog lights, tinted windows, a turbo spoiler and radio.

The Porsche has valid technical approval until 05/2017.

Model history:
A legend goes into the next generation - and loses no bit of temperament and class!

The second generation of the Porsche 911 (G model) came on the market in 1973 as a successor to the Porsche 911 (original model). It was a 2+2-seater sports car and available as coupe, convertible (as of 1983), Targa and Speedster.

The 911 was equipped with the following engines: 2.7 to 3.0 litre petrol engine (150-188 hp) and, for the Carrera version, 2.7 to 3.2 litre petrol engine (200-231 hp). The last Porsche 911 G-model rolled off the production line in 1989.

This car is almost a must in any good garage!

1956 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 28)

Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

Year of manufacture: 1956
Engine capacity (ccm): 1.897
Power output: 77 kW / 105 PS
Top speed: 175 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 62.400 km
Production period: 1955 - 1963

Vehicle description:
Let's not always talk about that unfortunate young lady of doubtful reputation! In the mid-1950s, many celebrities opted for the 190 SL, among them Frank Sinatra, Ringo Starr and Grace Kelly, to name only a few. And now, you too can become the proud owner of a beautiful 190 SL: This specimen in its silver paintwork with black leather interior is being offered for sale after 10 years with its current owner. The car was delivered in Cologne in 1956, which makes it an early model, and is reported to have had three owners previously. In 2007, the interior was renewed or refurbished, with attention given to dashboard, door side panels, carpet and all seats, including the transverse seat in the rear. Many chrome parts were done up, as was the brake system. The 1.9 litre four-cylinder engine was also reconditioned with original spare parts, such as pistons, valves, bearings, oil pump and timing chain. Fuel tank, exhaust, windscreen and all tyres were replaced as well. All in all this is a well-maintained roadster with no pending repairs, according to a recent expert appraisal.
The SL also features a Becker Le Mans radio, and in place of the popular Kienzle mechanical clock, there's a battery-powered replica in the glove box lid. The car comes with German registration documents, valid technical approval until 06/2018 and historic plates.

Model history:
Mercedes-Benz 190 SL - the elegant touring sports car for the Boulevard

The idea came from the United States. In the early fifties, Mercedes harboured no plans for a sports car. The plant, not yet completely rebuilt, was operating at full capacity manufacturing sedans and trucks. But Max Hofmann, exclusive distributor in the United States, convinced the Board of Mercedes-Benz at the board meeting of September 2, 1953 to construct a small sports car for the US market.
On February 6, 1954, the new car, internally named W121, was presented at the New York Motor Show. The front was based on the larger and simultaneously displayed Mercedes 300 SL, but the tail was wider and closer to the Ponton sedan 180. A top speed of 190 km/h, 110 hp and conversion options for racing purposes were promised. During its presentation, the 190 SL suffered a bit under the overbearing 300 SL, which was a great sensation, for hardly anyone would have expcected Mercedes to make such an impressive entry into the sports car segment.
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was produced from May 1955 to February 1963 in a total of 25,881 units.

1974 Citroen D Super 5

Lot # 8 (Sale Order: 8 of 28)

Citroen D Super 5

Year of manufacture: 1974
Engine capacity (ccm): 2.160
Power output: 76 kW / 103 PS
Top speed: 175 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 102.500 km
Production period: 1955 - 1975

Vehicle description:
"Brun scarabee metallic" is the name of this beautiful colour, Citroen colour code AC 427, which was available for the DS only from 1973 to 1975. This is a D Super 5 from the penultimate year of production, 1974, equipped with the 2.2 litre four-cylinder engine with 76 kW (103 hp) of power and a 5-speed manual gearbox with steering-column mounted lever. A special feature is the rare AEAT foldable roof, which has been well cared-for and is reported to be completely tight, and which offers a convertible feeling of the purest kind.
The current owner, a lady with a pronounced faible for classic cars, bought the D Super 5 in 2011. She then invested over EUR 25,000 in it: The doors - known to be a typical DS weakness - had to be replaced. New carpets were put in, while the original brown leather interior was retained, its charming patina being very much to the owner's taste. A new set of tyres was fitted. Only last year, a new battery, starter and hydraulic pump have also been installed.
The D has German registration documents, historic plates, and valid technical approval until 07/2017. It comes with a suitcase full of documents - among them a set of original owner's manuals, two repair and service handbooks and various bills - and three sets of car keys.
"It's such a shame that this beautiful car is parked most of the time..." the owner sighed, and we couldn't agree with her any more.

Model history:
"La deesse" means "the goddess" in French, and the pun was not unintended. When the DS was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1955, its extravagant styling made it look like something from a different universe to most people. Citroen was owned by the tyre manufacturer Michelin at that time, who put great emphasis on technological advances. The hydropneumatic suspension, designed by Paul Magès, had been used on the rear axle of the 15 CV, the DS's predecessor, as of 1954 - but here it was employed on all four wheels, giving the car a superior ride quality and variable ground clearance. Hydraulics were also used for the brakes, power steering, and - for early models at least - also for clutch and transmission. The "snake pit", as the mass of hydraulic pipes in the engine bay was jokingly called - overwhelmed many contemporary mechanics, but the systems proved to be very reliable. The DS (and its submodels ID, D Super and D Special) remained in production for a full two decades, with various redesigns, the most noteworthy in 1967, which put the headlights, together with a set of directional lights, under an aerodynamic glass cover. A station wagon ("Break") and factory convertible variant was also available.
Beyond doubt, the DS is one of the greatest design icons of automotive history.

1968 Mercedes-Benz 250 SEb Coupe

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 28)

Mercedes-Benz 250 SEb Coupe

Year of manufacture: 1968
Engine capacity (ccm): 2.470
Power output: 110 kW / 150 PS
Top speed: 185 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 43.428 mls
Production period: 1961 - 1971

Vehicle description:
Mercedes by name, Mercedes by nature! High-quality workmanship throughout!
This Mercedes 250 SE Coupe Automatic was delivered to the US in 1968 and reimported to Germany in 2014. The white exterior paint is nicely matched by the dark blue interior.
A technical revision of electric lighting, braking system and chassis will be necessary. A 2.5 litre six-cylinder engine with an output of 110 kW (150 hp) is installed. The engine runs smooth, the plunger type pump works as it should. The 250 SE features automatic transmission with steering wheel gear selector.
The coupe roof lends the car the flair of the 60s. What with its sun roof and the fully retractable side windows devoid of B-pillars, it becomes almost a convertible.
The interior is impeccable except for a damage to the passenger seat. The headliner is without the usual stains. The burl wood of the dashboard has once been reconditioned. The chrome trim is complete and largely without damage. The underbody has been welded (with photo documentation of the work performed).
There is a current Classic Data appraisal of EUR 36,000.- (condition: 2-).
Not a perfect vehicle, but an investment in the future.

Model history:
1961 began with initially the 220 SE Coupe the production of these great vehicles of the series W111, of which the French liked to refer to as "Grand Routier".

The 220 SEb / C was the first Mercedes passenger car which was mass-produced with disc brakes on the front wheels. The original type designation "SE (b) / C" is unique, because it demonstrates on the one hand the difference to the previous model pontoon (SE or SE (a)) and on the other hand was assigned with the introduction of the nearly identical in construction 250 SE Coupe.

The rich wooden interior, comfortable seats and the generous proportions invite to stylish and simply comfortable travel. Even five-member families will have difficutly with their luggage to fill the huge trunk.

1979 Volkswagen Beetle 1303 Cabrio

Lot # 10 (Sale Order: 10 of 28)

Volkswagen Beetle 1303 Cabrio

Year of manufacture: 1979
Engine capacity (ccm): 1.570
Power output: 35 kW / 48 PS
Top speed: 130 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 61.109 mls
Production period: 1972 - 1979

Vehicle description:
This is a 1303 convertible with panoramic windscreen. It was delivered to the United States in 1979 (making it one of the later ones) and was according to the previous owner 22 years in one ownership before being re-imported to Germany in 2014.

With the 1.6-liter four-cylinder boxer engine and 48 HP, the Beetle is motorized adequately for its time. The unwarranted mileage of 61,000 miles is said to be genuine by the American previous owner.
The paintwork in River Blue Metallic suits this car perfectly and the black leatherette interior and black convertible top also go very nicely with it.
The decent general condition is slightly clouded by the moderate state of the canopy top and partial blemishes of the paint. The original injection system was replaced with a carburetor.

A recent Classic Data brief appraisal over EUR 16,500.- (condition: 2-) as well as the original owner's manual are available. The car has valid technical approval until 04/2017 and comes with historic plates and a german registration from 2015.

Model history:
At the end of production of this convertible the fans had tears in their eyes! Like no other vehicle the Beetle Convertible had found its way into the hearts of people - thanks to its timeless, cuddly shape and certainly also due to the fact that people far away from the "upper ten thousand" were enabled to get the convertible feeling in the first place.

In the last years of the nearly 30-year construction period, the open version of the VW Beetle has become increasingly popular, with the demand the prices for neat cars rising. They were actually from the beginning higher than the purchase price. A car that already had become a classic during its construction period, after all it was produced with relatively marginal changes from 1949 to 1980.

During this long time, the convertible has always been based on the most powerful and best-equipped version of the "creepy-crawly" at that time. A total of 330,281 open beetles were manufactured at Karmann in Osnabrueck, at last as "Volkswagen 1303 Cabriolet" with an engine power of up to 50 hp in 1972.

1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille

Lot # 11 (Sale Order: 11 of 28)

Cadillac Coupe DeVille

Year of manufacture: 1955
Engine capacity (ccm): 5.388
Power output: 107 kW / 230 PS
Top speed: 164 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 45.700 mls
Production period: 1949 - 1958

Vehicle description:
This 1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is a rarity: With its colour scheme of turquois exterior paint, white roof, white-wall tyres and colour-keyed interior it is a highly elegant sight - perfectly suited for weddings or enjoyable road cruises. The consignor imported the car himself in 1987 and always kept it in a garage. The body is devoid of visible rust, the paintwork original apart from small-scale patch-ups, as is the chrome trim.
The Cadillac features power windows, electrically adjustable seats, power steering and radio - all of which far from standard in a car that was built over 60 years ago!
The underbody was refurbished at an early stage and is in an irreproachable condition. The exhaust system and the rear suspension have been renewed a few years ago. The front seat has recently been reupholstered with original material. The car is garage-maintained with mild traces of use, but loses oil. According to the consignor, the displayed mileage of 45,700 mls may not be identical to the total miles travelled. The vehicle is reported to be accident-free and without pending repairs. The original Owner's Manual as well as repair receipts come with the car, which has valid technical approval until 08/2017, historic plates and German registration documents.
So, why would anybody want to part with such a special car? "After close to 30 years of pleasant driving, I would like to pass it on to some other classic car enthusiast..."

Model history:
As is often the case in US car naming conventions, the term "Cadillac DeVille" was used for many decades, over eight generations of full-size luxury cars built by General Motors. The first "Coupe DeVille" was presented in 1949, as a special trim for the Sixty Special. As of 1958, the DeVille became a model of its own. It quickly became a volume seller and competed with the Lincoln Continental / Town Car. It had the reputation of being somewhat sportier than its rival. Earlier generations were available as 4-door sedan as well as 2-door coupe or convertible. the Coupe DeVille once was the best-selling luxury car in the US. Production of the convertible ceased after the 3rd generation (1970), and the coupe was dropped in 1993, leaving the 4-door sedan as the only remaining body style.
Until 1977, all DeVilles came with high-capacity V8 engines (with up to 8.2 litres of displacement!) - then the fuel crisis triggered a "downsizing" trend, even though nothing smaller than a 4.1 litre V6 ever featured in a DeVille.
On German roads, full-size Cadillacs have always been somewhat exotic. The massive, 5,7 m long, heavily tailfinned specimens of the 1950s / 60s have long become classics.

1971 Fiat 500 Abarth 695 SS Optik

Lot # 12 (Sale Order: 12 of 28)

Fiat 500 Abarth 695 SS Optik

Year of manufacture: 1971
Engine capacity (ccm): 594
Power output: 13 kW / 18 PS
Top speed: 98 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 2.200 km
Production period: 1963 - 1971

Vehicle description:
It is a well-known formula: Small car plus powerful engine equals fun. Ferry Porsche once said in an interview he created his 356 on this very principle. And Carlo Abarth - a friend of Ferry Porsche's, as it happens - surely acted upon the same maxim with his Fiat 500 conversions.
This Fiat 500 is not an original Abarth, but a well-made visual clone, using genuine Abarth parts where possible. Some technical components are taken from Abarth, among them axles, gearbox and suspension. The engine has 695 cc of displacement. The car with its white paintwork and decorative chequered-flag pattern on the sides and roof presents itself in a favourable condition inside and out. Great emphasis has been given to small details, like the front boot latches, the fuel tank painted in Abarth colours with large scorpion logo or the "695 esse-esse" lettering on the engine cover. The interior has been fitted out in a gorgeous-looking bicolour (red / beige) trim, mostly in good shape, though traces of use can be seen on the bucket seats. A sports steering wheel as well as the Abarth instrument panel with speedometer, oil temperature and oil pressure as well as rev counter are among the features of this car. Then there's the folding roof and a set of floor mats - with Abarth logo - to complement the overall impression of this great little car.
The Fiat comes with valid technical approval until 07/2017 as well as historic plates.

Model history:
Karl Albert Abarth, better known as Carlo Abarth, was born in Austria in 1908. He was only 17 when he started to design motorbikes. As of 1934 he lived in Italy, where he founded his car manufacturing business in 1949. From the start, he used a scorpion as his logo, inspired by his star sign. As early as 1952, Abarth cooperated with Fiat, and in the 1960s, his modifications of the Fiat 500 became popular among sporty motorists. At a time when a standard Fiat 500 produced merely 11 kW (15 hp) of power, the Abarth performance-enhanced 595 cc engine boasted 20 kW (27 hp). And that was only the beginning: At the Geneva motor show of 1964, Abarth presented the 695 SS - the abbreviation meaning "sprint speciale" - which had little in common with the factory-built Fiat engine: a modified cam shaft, new carburettors, the engine capacity raised to 695 cc, high-tensile piston rods, enlarged valves and a special exhaust all contributed to achieve a power output of 28 kW (38 hp), turning the somewhat meek Cinquecento into a proper racing dwarf. Flared fenders and a raised engine cover, while being functional, of course made for a strong visual appearance.
Abarth in 1971 sold his company to Fiat, sporty versions of their cars continue to bear his name.

1968 Volkswagen T2a Westfalia

Lot # 13 (Sale Order: 13 of 28)

Volkswagen T2a Westfalia

Year of manufacture: 1968
Engine capacity (ccm): 1.584
Power output: 35 kW / 47 PS
Top speed: 105 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 02897 mls
Production period: 1967 - 1971

Vehicle description:
Now that T1 prices have gone through the roof, it is the T2a that's moving more and more into the focus. Well-kept original examples as well as carefully restored ones are no longer available at small cost. Here comes a restoration object, directly from the container, so to speak, and competitively priced - and obviously, not the right car for somebody expecting to simply hop in and turn the key. This is a grease monkey's territory!
It's a VW T2a built in 1967, which makes it a reasonably early model. Delivered to the US when new, it has recently been brought back to Germany. In the rear, it has the air-cooled 1.6 litre boxer engine installed, which has a reputation of being near-indestructible and produces no more than 35 kW (47 hp) of power.
The camper for sure makes a very sympathetic appearance with good substance, even if some work remains to be done, both at the body as well as the mechanical parts, including the interior.

If you've been dreaming of doing up one of these charming campervans, this may present the perfect opportunity. But watch out: The old (restoration) adage "no pain, no gain" certainly applies here.

Model history:
The classic Volkswagen Bus - more precisely the type 2. Germany's biggest export right after the VW Beetle.
There were two and a half generations of the Bus. The T2a variant was built from 1967 until 1971, the hybrid model T2a / b until 1972 and the T2b until 1979.

Westfalia had already made itself a name since 1951 with camping equipment for the T1 (the "camping box"). Since Volkswagen took variations into their VW T2 portfolio, Westfalia furnishings were very popular and widespread.
The model range varied over the years. From year 1969 on, the equipment got named after cities in addition to the number designations. From 1972 to 1973, versions for the US market got their names from cities in the United States.

Just a few minutes behind the wheel of a T2-Bullis and you feel again like 30 years ago. Portugal, Ireland, Italy, a rainy birthday with sparklers in the Tuscan hills - how long ago was that?

1962 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabrio

Lot # 14 (Sale Order: 14 of 28)

Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabrio

Year of manufacture: 1962
Engine capacity (ccm): 2195
Power output: 88 kW / 120 PS
Top speed: 170 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 21.500 km
Production period: 1961 - 1971

Vehicle description:
From France via the USA to Germany: This beautiful Mercedes-Benz 220 SE convertible has seen a bit of the world in its 53 years of existence. According to the previous owner, the car had been held for over 30 years by the person who once bought it in Paris and took it with him when he moved to the States.
With its white paint and blue MB tex interior, it looks as elegant today as it did when new. The chrome parts are mostly shiny, with slight oxidation visible. Generally, the large convertible has a degree of patina that is authentic and acceptable in a car this age. There are rusty spots and slight paint peelings or scratches, as well as traces of wear and tear on seats and dashboard, but all in all it is a remarkable car that will not fail to attract people's attention.
Some things may need to be done up, such as the porose rubber seals around the windscreen or holes in the convertible top. The engine - the well-known 2.2 litre straight-six cylinder which produces 88 kW (120 hp) of power - also appears to be leaking oil a little.
But just take a seat in the extremely comfortable, spacious convertible, let your eyes rest on the timeless dashboard with analogue clock and ample wood decor, and you will immediately understand why this was the pinnacle of German manufacturing half a century ago.

Model history:
Do you know a more elegant 4-seater convertible? We do not!

As of February 1961, the coupe and convertible variant of the W111 became available, initially using the same drivetrain as the sedan model 220 SE. They were referred to as 220 SEb / C.

In contrast to its predecessor, coupe and convertible are based on the unshortened carrier of the associated sedan and were thus a full four-seater. Coupe and sedan have also stylistically many similarities, but not one of the components of the four-door car could be used for the coupe or convertible. More than four times as many parts as for the sedan were made by hand for the coupes and convertibles.

These C-models were the last largely handmade Mercedes, which is why the price of coupes and convertibles were almost twice as high as that of the sedan.

Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9

Year of manufacture: 1979
Engine capacity (ccm): 6.834
Power output: 210 kW / 286 PS
Top speed: 225 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 94.571 mls
Production period: 1975 - 1980

Vehicle description:
This very beautiful, well-maintained 450 SEL 6.9 has recently been re-imported from the US. Previously, it ran in arid Arizona, which explains the excellent exterior condition. This is a vehicle where the age really is not showing!

On the inside, the large Mercedes impresses on every level, boasting a flawless look. The blue leather interior blends well with the silver metallic paint. Of course, the 450 SEL features automatic transmission and the standard hydropneumatic suspension - but also some of the optional extras are on board, such as power windows front and rear, as well as automatic climate control, at its time an extremely rare feature.
The vehicle does not have the dual round headlights typical of America, but the square, European lights instead. The original owner's manual is also available.
It should be pointed out that the undercarriage needs to be attended to.

A top class sedan, which even after 36 years continues to be amazing in so many ways!

Model history:
S as in superlative

In 1972, the W 116 series S-Class was presented to the public, and as early as one year later, Mercedes had plans to top off the model range with 6.9 litre V8. Due to the oil crisis, the big car with the even bigger thirst got delayed until 1975.

It had everything that was technically feasible in the 1970s. Hydropneumatic suspension and air conditioning were standard. Heated seats, cruise control, ABS (shortly before the end of the construction period) or even a car phone came at a neat extra charge. But money had better not be an issue in the new acquisition of these vehicles anyway - 7,380 units found solvent customers. They then drove "the best car in the world", with the largest engine of all post-war Mercedes, boasting the still-impressive figure of 560 Nm of torque and an acceleration on a par with the Porsche 911.

An epoch-making automobile - luxurious, exquisite, of stable value. Only for the notorious Swabian thriftiness, it's a double yellow!

1989 BMW 635 CSi

Lot # 16 (Sale Order: 16 of 28)

BMW 635 CSi

Year of manufacture: 1989
Engine capacity (ccm): 3.430
Power output: 155 kW / 211 PS
Top speed: 215 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 171.200 mls
Production period: 1978 - 1989

Vehicle description:
This BMW 635 CSi is one of the last of its kind - a 1989 model, the year in which production came to an end after 13 years. It has recently been re-imported from the US. The odometer shows unwarranted 170,910 mls, but you would never guess by looking at the car, which shows comparatively little traces of age. The full leather interior in grey is in a pleasant shape, with hardly any visible damaging. On the outside, too, the vehicle and its paintwork are well-maintained.
The features' list is typically long: Tinted windows, sunroof, trip computer, electrically adjustable seats, driver's seat with memory function and, being a late model, even airbag and (original) radio with CD changer. The original toolkit is in the boot, along with a full-size spare tyre.

The BMW has valid technical approval until 05/2017. A recent Classic Data appraisal estimates the value of this 635 in condition 2- at EUR 21,500.
This is a youngtimer which can be used as a daily driver, perfectly suitable for the long haul on the freeway or cruising about town.

Model history:
A high-revving straight six engine, standard drive, and all packaged in an equally expressive as well as timeless coupe shape: Hardly surprising the BMW 6 Series (E24) met with enthusiastic buyers for over 13 years, longer than any other BMW.

Upon its presentation, the design anticipated the styling of the future 7 Series (E23). Inside, there is the driver-related cockpit - a 70s novelty at BMW - with the center console turned slightly towards the driver. Otherwise, the upper-class coupe boasts lush luxury, since the 6 Series was designed for a comfortable ride. And that is not at all contrary to a sporting performance, least of all with the more powerful engines of the 635 CSi.

The 6 Series has the reputation of easy maintenance and its engines are said to be virtually indestructible. For this reason, this BMW is well placed for a second spring as a classic that is fit for everyday use.

1977 Chevrolet Camaro LT 305

Chevrolet Camaro LT 305

Year of manufacture: 1977
Engine capacity (ccm): 5.001
Power output: 108 kW / 147 PS
Top speed: 188 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 73.768 mls
Production period: 1970 - 1981

Vehicle description:
This candy apple red 1977 Camaro LT 305 is an eye-catcher! While once a common sight on American roads, it is very rare on the German Autobahn.

Under the hood, it comes with a well-tuned 5.0 litre V8 engine, which provides an estimated 108 kW (147 PS) of power, and is coupled to the Hydra-Matic, Chevrolet's automatic 3-speed gearbox. This is a remarkable car to drive, which is said to offer no less than 332 Nm of torque.

The Camaro has presumably been partially refurbished some years back. There is little visible rust, the lines are nice and straight. The interior is very decent: Tan leather seats, beige leatherette dashboard and sky hardly give grounds for complaint. The sports coupe features rev counter, analogue clock, power windows, two exterior mirrors, arm rest and radio. All chrome parts are in good condition, this also includes the chromed wheels.

This is a classic pony car that is bound to win you over.

Model history:
A pony from the Chevrolet stable

After the overwhelming success that Ford had with the Mustang, Chevrolet jumped on the bandwagon in 1967 by presenting the Camaro, a classic "pony car": Technically simple, but with more than enough power, it addressed the identical target group. Right from the start, the car was a great success. Still in the first year of construction, Chevrolet created the mother of all sports packages, called "Z-28". Strangely enough, it was initially not even promoted: word-of-mouth advertising led to an increase in sales.

As early as 1970 the styling was revised, comprising individual elements reminiscent of Italian sports cars. The "European design" went down well in the States. Engine-wise, however, it was typically American: High capacity V8 with up to 6.6 litres bubbled preferably under the long hood, causing a slump in sales during the oil crisis.

Today, the 2nd generation of the Camaro has long become a classic - finding an un-tinkered one has not got any easier after "Transformers" ...

1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabrio (964)

Lot # 18 (Sale Order: 18 of 28)

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabrio (964)

Year of manufacture: 1991
Engine capacity (ccm): 3.600
Power output: 184 kW / 250 PS
Top speed: 260 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 68.600 mls
Production period: 1989 - 1994

Vehicle description:
Every generation of the iconic Porsche 911 has its fan community. If you're among those who think the 964 is the best-looking 911 ever, step a little closer and have a look at this gorgous, guards red 1991 Carrera 4 convertible. This sports car is 25 years old, but who would think so by the looks of it? The finish (colour code L80K) is marred by only minor imperfections such as paint bubbles, peelings or hardly visible stone chip damage. The black convertible top is in near-new condition, as is the tarpaulin. The electric top works as it should. The black leather interior is very well maintained, the dashboard devoid of cracks. The clean and dry engine compartment houses the powerful 3.6 litre boxer engine which produces 184 kw (250 hp) of power and it sends drive to all four wheels through the G50/52 manual 5-speed gearbox, a 1991 novelty.
This Porsche is a matching numbers car and recently re-imported from the US, is equipped with air conditioning, dual airbags, power windows, electrically adjustable mirrors and seats as well as an MP3 / CD radio. It runs on the popular "man hole cover" rims with hardly any kerb damage. The odometer shows an unwarranted low mileage of merely 68,600 mls.
With its integrated fog lights and indicators as well as its traditional lines and the pronounced headlights, the 964 is a beautiful car beyond any doubt. Here's a convertible to fall in love with.

Model history:
After 16 years of production, the highly popular "G model" of the Porsche 911 was due for a thorough makeover in 1989. The successor, which bore the internal code 964, is said to have shared no more than 15 % of its parts with model it replaced. While retaining the characteristic basic design, the 964 brought a cornucopia of technical innovations. For the first time in a 911, all wheel drive, derived from the technology carrier Porsche 959, and the Tiptronic automatic gearshift became available. Power steering, airbags as well as ABS brakes likewise found their way into the 911. The suspension was revised substantially, it now featured coil springs and shock absorbers instead of torsion bars. From the outside, the most noticeable change lay in the large, integrated bumpers, as well as in the electric rear spoiler which was raised and lowered according to the travelling speed.
In the rear, there was still the air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine - now with twin-spark - which most commonly had 3.6 litres of displacement, though 3.3 and 3.75 litre variants were available, as well as turbo engines.
The 964 was the last 911 model which was offered as a traditional Targa with the removable roof.

1952 MG TD

Lot # 19 (Sale Order: 19 of 28)

MG TD

Year of manufacture: 1952
Engine capacity (ccm): 1.250
Power output: 40 kW / 54 PS
Top speed: 130 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 61.500 mls
Production period: 1949 - 1953

Vehicle description:
With its sweeping wheel arches, free-standing headlights and distinctive radiator grille, the unmistakeable styling of the MG Midget T series was popular enough to keep sales figures up for nearly twenty years. Many decades later, these cars are still among the best known British sports cars. This 1952 MG TD in the classic colour combination of red paintwork and black leatherette interior and convertible top was imported from the US. Its 1250 cc four-cylinder engine with 40 kW (54 hp) of power runs smooth, it is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The paint, a solid respray, is free of any discernible evidence of rust or rot. The front right wing shows a prior damage. The canvas top has traces of use, but is in working condition. The chrome parts are mostly in good shape, with slight peeling at the boot lid trim strip. The typical boot-mounted spare wheel and four side screens are included.
The dash features speedometer, voltmeter, oil- and water temperature gauges and a rev counter. The interior looks well-kept and presentable. A beautiful wooden steering wheel and a centre armrest complete the overall picture of this truly classic British roadster, which a recent Classic Data appraisal has evaluated at EUR 37,800 (condition 2+). It comes with valid technical approval until 05/2016 and historic plates.

Model history:
The 4th generation of MG's T Midget series was presented in 1949. The TD became by far the most successful of them all, with 29,664 vehicles built over 4 years, the large majority of which were exported to the US. It marked a great technical advance over the predecessor, using the chassis from the Y type sedan, which had independent suspension with coil springs. On this, the tried-and-tested TC's drivetrain and the recognisable T-type style body were fitted. The result was a car that was both traditional yet up-to-date. It was also slightly larger and the 1250 cc OHV inline-4 cylinder engine now delivered 40 kW (54 hp).

Due to the popularity of this car, plenty of replicas were built after production of the original T series ended in 1955.

1956 Volkswagen Beetle (Ovali)

Lot # 20 (Sale Order: 20 of 28)

Volkswagen Beetle (Ovali)

Year of manufacture: 1956
Engine capacity (ccm): 1.192
Power output: 22 kW / 30 PS
Top speed: 112 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 4.741 mls
Production period: 1945 - 2003

Vehicle description:
This very neatly restored "oval" beetle attracts attention with its deep black paintwork and the many shiny chrome parts.
The unwarranted mileage amounts to 4,741 mls. The US imported beetle strikes the onlooker as equally nostalgic and elegant.
The interior keeps to red, while the dashboard is body-coloured as usual. The leatherette seats are in a near-new condition. You will find sun visors, a glove box and an ash tray inside the VW - these were the extras that gave added value to a car, long before there were large-scale navigation displays... Of course, the rear sunblind wasn't standard either, no more so than the Motorola radio.
Not for nothing, the charming VW beetle model was built from 1945 until 2003. Here you have the opportunity to get hold of a very attractive one, which will put a smile on the face of many people.
A Classic Data appraisal recently estimated the value of this beetle in condition 2+ at EUR 20,000.
The "oval" has just been treated to a new set of tyres, it comes with historic plates and valid technical approval until 06/2018.

Model history:
Who has not heard of the Beetle that runs and runs and runs?

As early as 1945, mass production of the VW Beetle was commenced - the last one rolled off the line in 2003. The VW Beetle was produced over 20,000,000 times and had become a classic during its production period, enjoying a wide fan base right until today.
In early 2014, more than 10 percent of all registered classic cars in Germany were "creepy crawlies", making it beyond any doubt the most popular classic car of all times.

Over the decades, the beetle has undergone numerous changes, the most obvious concerned the shape of the rear window. The two-piece oval rear window ("split") was replaced in 1953 by a larger one-piece oval window. As of August 1957, this was replaced by a much wider rear window. Quite a few owners of older models had these "modern" windows installed subsequently, making the original singular-oval window variants more desirable and valuable today.

1987 Porsche 928 S4

Lot # 21 (Sale Order: 21 of 28)

Porsche 928 S4

Year of manufacture: 1987
Engine capacity (ccm): 4.957
Power output: 235 kW / 320 PS
Top speed: 265 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 165.600 mls
Production period: 1977 - 1995

Vehicle description:
In America, some people respectfully refer to the 928 as "German Corvette": Extravagant styling, powerful V8 engine in the front, rear wheel drive. This specimen, a 1987 Porsche 928 S4, was originally delivered to the US and re-imported in 2015. It sports the unusual colour scheme of granite green paint (Porsche colour code L699), still original, and burgundy leather interior. Porsche had extended the warranty against rust from 7 to 10 years from model year 1986, and the 928 models benefit from this improved corrosion protection until today. The car presents itself in a mostly original, well-maintained condition with traces of use appropriate for its age.
The 5.0 litre V8 produces 235 kW (320 hp) of power and is connected to a dog-leg manual gearshift - rather unusual for a 928. In this combination, the 928 S4 had a top speed of up to 265 km/h.
Cruise control, power windows, a power sunroof, electrically adjustable mirrors and seats, air conditioning and a CD radio are all on the features' list of this remarkable GT. The original service booklet and owner's manual as well as a clean carfax report are available.
All in all, an impressive car that needs a little attention to bring it back to its full glory.

Model history:
The other great Porsche

This was supposed to be the heir to the throne, successor to the forever-young 911, which in the late 1960s was thought to be way past its prime, with not much of a future ahead. Hence a radically different layout was favoured: The new top-of-the-range model was designed to be a luxury touring car, with a powerful watercooled V8 engine in the front, providing 176 kW (240 hp) from 4,5 l of displacement, and a transaxle layout, which enabled a weight distribution of nearly 50/50 (front/rear). The 928 debuted in 1977 at the Geneva Motor show. In 1978, it won the coveted "European Car of the Year" award, as the first sports car ever - a clear indication of just how advanced the 928 was both technically, as well as with regards to styling. Many Porsche enthusiasts, however, greeted the 928 with something ranging from suspicion to downright rejection, as the 911 continued to sell. Nevertheless, the 928 became a success in its own right, with a construction period of no less than 18 years. Later models featured a 5.4 litre engine with up to 257 kW (350 hp). Only about 1/5 of all 928 came with a manual gearbox!

1982 Chevrolet Corvette (C3) Collectors Edition

Lot # 22 (Sale Order: 22 of 28)

Chevrolet Corvette (C3) Collectors Edition

Year of manufacture: 1982
Engine capacity (ccm): 5.733
Power output: 149 kW / 203 PS
Top speed: 213 km/h
Transmission: automatic gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 97.400 mls
Production period: 1968 - 1982

Vehicle description:
This ain't no ordinary Vette! This is one of only 6,759 Corvettes built in 1982 as part of the final tribute to the C3, the co-called Collector Edition. It features the popular stingray body style of the third generation, with one addition: The opening rear window hatch was an exclusive feature of this limited edition. Of course there's the famous L-83 "Crossfire" V8 installed, with 350 ci or 5.7 litres of capacity, which produces 149 kW (203 hp) of power and sends drive to the rear wheels by means of the 4-speed "Turbo Hydramatic" automatic transmission.
This car was imported in 2015 and presents itself in a well-kept condition. The engine runs smooth, making that low-pitched rumble that many people find highly addictive. Painted in silver beige, the Corvette looks attractive, small cracks on the bonnet notwithstanding. The colour-keyed interior in its special Collector Edition trim is in good condition with acceptable traces of use. The seats have been re-upholstered, using original material.
Owing to the Targa-like removable roof panels, this car offers a convertible feeling on sunshiny days. Amenities include power windows, electrically adjustable seats, air conditioning, cruise control and the original Delco radio.
This is a highly enjoyable car, and one which is likely to appreciate over time.

Model history:
The first generation Corvette, as presented in 1953, was Chevrolet's reply to Porsche and Jaguar: A compact roadster which was lightweight - owing to its fibreglass body on a steel frame - and, with the introduction of a V8 in 1956, also sporty. In 1963, the second generation, marketed as Corvette Sting Ray, was released. It had a significantly improved chassis with independent rear wheel suspension and disc brakes. But above all, it featured a strikingly new and exciting design. Retractable headlamps were introduced - and became a Corvette hallmark until the 6th generation made its debut in 2005. With closed "eyes", the Corvette had a sharp-edged front to contrast its elegant, flowing lines: stingray-like, indeed. In 1968, the third generation was introduced, which had a much more muscular appearance while retaining most of the engine and chassis components from the C2. This didn't stop it from becoming the Corvette model with the longest production run, no less than 14 years!
In terms of motorisation, there were basically two groups of engines based on either the "small block" (around 5 litres) or "big block" (up to 7.4 litres, discontinued 1975), with various transmissions and axle ratios.

Porsche 968

Year of manufacture: 1992
Engine capacity (ccm): 2.990
Power output: 176 kW / 240 PS
Top speed: 252 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 230.000 km
Production period: 1992 - 1995

Vehicle description:
A top speed of 252 km/h. The standard 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.5 seconds. Who would ever guess by looking at the data sheet that this was achieved by a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine?
Even by today's standards, the Porsche 968 is a car with a thoroughly modern feel to it. Its design has never faded, and the driving experience is as thrilling as ever. This beautiful example features a grand prix white exterior and a black part-leather interior. Always registered in Germany where it has gone through five ownerships, the car has reportedly never been in an accident, it displays favourably with only minimal traces of use, without scratches, dents or rust. On the features' list we find heated seats, power windows, cruise control, a Becker Cascade radio with navigation as well as air-conditioning.
The 968 runs on original Porsche 18" cup wheels in good condition. This gorgeous sports car comes with various documents, including the bill of sale, the original German registration document and plenty of repair receipts. The gearbox has been overhauled in 2000 at 110,000 km. The 968 was owned by the same person from 1992 till 2005. Since 2008, it has been part of a private Porsche collection, where it was not registered and only used sparingly, but regularly with special number plates.
Technical approval can be renewed on request.

Model history:
Originally intended to be yet another facelift for the Porsche 944, the 968 only became a model in its own right after the Porsche management had realised that about 80 % of the mechanical components had been either modified or replaced altogether. The resulting car still looked very much like a 944 when seen from the side, or indeed from the inside, which was unchanged from the 944 S2. The front and rear sections of the car had been restyled, though, giving them a stronger family resemblance with the 928, and anticipating styling cues from the 993.
Production of the 968 - available as coupe or convertible - was no longer at Audi's Neckarsulm plant where the 924 and 944 had been assembled, but at Porsche's own Zuffenhausen factory. The 968 featured an updated version of the 3.0 litre inline 4-cylinder powerplant of its predecessor, which produced 177 kW (240 hp) and was mated to a 6-speed manual gearshift.
As of 1993, a Clubsport version of the 968 targeted customers who preferred a more lightweight, and therefore faster car to the rather luxuriously equipped, and more expensive, standard 968.
A very limited series of 968 Turbo S and 968 Turbo RS needs to be mentioned. With the 968, the era of 4-cylinder Porsche cars also came to an end... until almost two decades later, in 2016, the 718 Boxster revived this tradtition.

1960 Sachsenring Trabant P50

Lot # 24 (Sale Order: 24 of 28)

Sachsenring Trabant P50

Year of manufacture: 1960
Engine capacity (ccm): 595
Power output: 19 kW / 26 PS
Top speed: 108 km/h
Transmission: manual gearshift
Odometer (unwarranted): 4.300 km
Production period: 1957 - 1991

Vehicle description:
Are you suffering from eastalgia? Here's your remedy! A 1960 Trabant as a solid basis for a restoration is seeking a new owner. As documented by the east German registration papers, this car has gone through three ownerships in the GDR. After the reunification, the current owner bought the vehicle and drove it occasionally until 1994. Since it's been decommissioned, the Trabi has been kept in a dry garage. It is now being offered because the premises are being sold, and the consignor had to admit he would not be able to carve out enough time for the restoration he once had in mind for this car.
The documentation informs us that in 1979, the original 500 cc engine was replaced with a 600 cc version. The general condition of this 56-year old car is quite good, making a full restoration appear worthwhile, though the car can of course be displayed "as is" in any collection, owing to its great number of original parts, among them the curved chrome trim lines which were characteristic for Trabants from the early period. The pastel green and alabaster colour scheme is apparently not the original paint, but it is certainly period-correct. Numerous handbooks and an assortment of spare parts is sold together with the car - but not only that: A complete 1962 Trabant 500 is included in the package, either as salvage car, or as a resto project of its own!

Model history:
It has become a symbol of East Germany's economy of scarcity: The Trabant. In fairness, the car was completely on a par with its West German counterparts at the time of its release. With its front engine and front wheel drive, it was even a rather modern vehicle. The main problem was that modifications and modernisations were scarce until 1964, and virtually non-existing after that. The original Trabant, the P50, was built from 1957 until 1962 with its 500 cc two-stroke engine producing 13 kW (18 hp) of power. As of 1963, the engine was upgraded to 600 cc and a power output of 17 kW (23 hp). 1964 brought a facelifted bodywork with straighter lines - which then remained unchanged until the end of production in 1991. For the last year, a licenced version of a 1.0 litre VW 4-stroke engine from the Polo was implanted.
Body shapes included the 2-door sedan and a 2-door station wagon, called Kombi or Universal.
Despite its nickname, "racing cardboard", the Trabant body panels were made of Duroplast, a hard plastic made of cotton waste and phenol resins - not cardboard.
A total of 3.7 million "Trabis" were built - and many of them carelessly discarded after "the turn" of 1990. The survivors are now lovingly cared for by their old or new owners.

1999 BMW Z3 M

Lot # 25 (Sale Order: 25 of 28)

BMW Z3 M

Year of manufacture: 1999
Engine capacity (ccm): 3.152
Power output: 179 kW / 243 PS
Top speed: 250 km/h
Transmission: Schaltgetriebe
Odometer (unwarranted): 127000 mls
Production period: 1995 - 2002

Vehicle description:
There's life in the old dog yet - and a fair bit of life, as this not even so old "dog" has 243 lively horses under its bonnet. According to its carfax, this BMW Z3 M roadster was declared a total loss by an insurance company in 2014 and a salvage title was issued. It was repaired nonetheless, and wouldn't you agree that this was the right thing to do? With its estoril blue metallic paintwork and matching blue and black leather interior, this sports car looks just as stunning today as it did when new, just before the turn of the millenium. From any angle, the M version of the Z3 can easily be distinguished from its not-quite-as-powerful siblings: Its more aerodynamic front bumper, quad exhaust and side gills with chrome strip give it away at once.
The roadster features an electric soft top, power windows, electrically adjustable heated seats, air conditioning and the BMW Business CD radio. It has partially been repainted and is not without traces of wear and tear, both outside and in, but the general condition is agreeable for a car that has covered 127,000 mls according to the odometer. As a US specifications vehicle, this Z3 M produces 179 kW (243 hp) of power from 3.2 litres of engine capacity - enough for an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h and a standard 0 - 100 km/h sprint in just under 6 seconds.
This is a veritable future classic with plenty of "oomph", at a competitive price.

Model history:
In 1995, BMW presented a new sporting two seater roadster. Designed by Joji Nagashima, technically based on E36 and internally named E36/7, this was the first new BMW to be built exclusively in the US. Within just two years, a new factory had been erected at Greer, South Carolina, which had commenced production of the E36 in 1994. Apart from the powertrain, which still came from Germany, all other components for the Z3 were sourced from North American suppliers. The roadster was very popular right from day one - aided by clever product placement in the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye.
In 1999, a coupe version (E36/8) was added. This proved somewhat controversial, as it was more of a shooting brake than an actual coupe, and it ended up nicknamed "breadbox" by some critics. The engine palette ranged from a 1.8 litre four-cylinder with 85 kW (116 hp) to the mighty 3.2 litre six-cylinder in the Z3M, which boasted 239 kW (325 hp).
For the 2000 model year, the Z3 was facelifted, the new look best noticeable at the rear with the L-shaped taillights. The facelift also brought better insulation for the convertible top, which now had three layers, not just one, and higher quality materials were used for the plastic rear window.
Over 7 years, a total of 279,273 roadsters and 17,815 coupes were built.
