The Famous Ten-Dollar "Bison Note" of 1901 $10 Graded vf25 BY PMG

Lot # 472 (Sale Order: 326 of 608)

The Famous Ten-Dollar "Bison Note" of 1901 $10 Graded vf25 BY PMG. One of the most sought-after notes in the world. The Series 1901 $10 Legal Tender Note symboliz...morees the spirit of our frontier past with a beautifully engraved image of a powerful bison. With its massive size, prominent head and shaggy fur, the giant of the Great Plains captivated settlers and became a legendary fixture in the American imagination. Issued at the dawn of the last century. Flanking the bison are vignettes of explorers Lewis and Clark, whose mapping of the Louisiana Purchase territory paved the way for western expansion. The reverse features Columbia, a poetic female personification of the U.S. This rarely seen “legal tender note” is full of intricate flourishes and distinguished by a rich red seal and serial number.

***Auction Highlight*** 1889-cc vam 3 R5 Morgan Dollar $1 Graded au58 details By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 473 (Sale Order: 327 of 608)

***Auction Highlight*** 1889-cc vam 3 R5 Morgan Dollar $1 Graded au58 details By SEGS. The 1889-CC is one of the most sought-after issues in the Morgan dollar seri...morees. It is one of the major key dates overall, and it is the only true "stopper" to the Carson City series. Although 350,000 pieces were struck, few were preserved in high grade, and the date was almost entirely unrepresented in the GSA sales of the 1970s. This near-Mint example is brilliant and lustrous with semiprooflike fields. A few hairlines detailed the coin. The strike is sharp, and only slight friction is evident across the high points of the devices. A few handling marks are not bothersome. An attractive, high-end example of this important Carson City issue. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1934-s Peace Dollar $1 Graded ms64 By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 477 (Sale Order: 331 of 608)

***Auction Highlight*** 1934-s Peace Dollar $1 Graded ms64 By SEGS. This example presents outstanding Choice Mint State quality for this key date Peace dollar issu...moree. It is highly lustrous with a softly frosted finish and both sides are brilliant apart from wisps of pale gold iridescence in and around the perimeters. The strike is above average for a San Francisco dollar of this type, with the overall detail bold and the centers showing plenty of emerging definition.Although it did not have the lowest mintage in its series, the 1934-S has long been recognized as the rarest Peace dollar in terms of total number of Mint State coins extant. Writing in his 1993 reference Silver Dollars & Trade Dollars of the United States: A Complete Encyclopedia, Q. David Bowers speculates that many of the 1,011,000 coins minted went into circulation as early as the mid to late 1930s, most being paid out for face value from the San Francisco Mint or West Coast banks. Dealers and other numismatists active in the market of the 1940s paid little attention to the 1934-S, falsely believing that thousands of Mint State coins were still safely tucked away in vaults at the San Francisco Mint. When such pieces failed to emerge during the 1950s or early to mid 1960s, the key date status of the 1934-S in Uncirculated preservation was solidified. I am including an ms63+ and an ms64 example for your comparison. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin

***Auction Highlight*** 1883 Three Dollar Gold 3 Graded ms63 PL Details By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 478 (Sale Order: 332 of 608)

***Auction Highlight*** 1883 Three Dollar Gold 3 Graded ms63 PL Details By SEGS. Attractive yellow-orange surfaces are highly lustrous with proof like surfaces. Ex...moreceptional eye appeal. Only 900 circulation strikes of this denomination were produced in 1883, all delivered on December 15. Despite the limited press run, a couple of hundred survivors are thought to exist. Just about half of these are Uncirculated. Less than ten examples have ever earned the PL designation. One stray mark which is not distracting accounts for the details designation. Clearly this is a great example of one of the most instantly recognizable key date issues in the challenging three-dollar gold series. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin

***Auction Highlight*** 1898-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms67+ By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 481 (Sale Order: 333 of 608)

***Auction Highlight*** 1898-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms67+ By SEGS. A brilliant and smartly impressed beauty drenched in satiny mint luster. The history of the 1...more898-O Morgan dollar is similar to that of the more widely promoted 1903-O. From the year of striking nearly into the middle of the 20th century the 1898-O was a phantom among silver dollars, especially in Mint State. It is likely that much of the mintage was included among the 270,232,722 silver dollars destroyed in 1918 under provisions of the Pittman Act. The availability of the 1898-O in Mint State did not change until the silver dollar releases of the early 1960s. And change it did, in dramatic fashion. Thousands of 1898-O dollars, along with 1903-O, 1904-O, and other dates were released. The eventual number of 1,000-coin bags involved is unknown but obviously substantial given the fact that the 1898-O is among the most plentiful Morgan dollars in Mint State. AS one of the finest known, this MS-67+ is an impressive condition rarity, equally well suited for a high grade type set or an advanced Morgan dollar collection. There is only one coin graded finer, an GC ms68. Tied for 2nd finest known

*HIGHLIGHT OF ENTIRE AUCTION* 1885-p Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms67 dmpl By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 485 (Sale Order: 336 of 608)

***Auction Highlight*** 1885-p Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms67 dmpl By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT OF THE AUCTION - TOP POP, Tied for Finest known in DMPL. ms67 DMPL. A conditi...moreon rarity par excellence with superior quality in every respect. Frosty devices are sharply defined and set against a backdrop of mirrored reflectivity in the fields. Brilliant and Stunningly toned with multicolor on both sides, this is a beautiful coin worthy of the strongest bids. It is tied for finest known in DMPL, making it a truly significant offering for advanced specialists of the series. The Philadelphia Mint delivered 17,787,000 circulation strike silver dollars in 1885, one of the more generous totals in the Morgan series. Thousands of these coins remained in federal storage until released by the Treasury Department from the 1930s through the early 1960s. Q. David Bowers (1993) notes that the year 1954 saw a particularly large dispersal of this issue. With many of these coins finding their way into numismatic hands, the 1885 is the most plentiful pre-1921 Philadelphia Mint Morgan dollar in Mint State after only the 1886 and 1887. Quality conscious type collectors are also drawn to this issue due to the beauty of most PL and DMPL examples in today's market. This is just such a coin, although at the Superb Gem grade level it is a decided condition rarity whose offering in this sale represents a fleeting bidding opportunity.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino The Mint 1937 Walker &

Lot # 499 (Sale Order: 345 of 608)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino The Mint 1937 Walker & 1909 Barber Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a c...moreollection of old 1960[x=#8217/]s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn[x=#8217/]t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.
