1955 BSA Gold Star

Lot # 360 (Sale Order: 77 of 213)

This bike is very special and very rare... it belonged to and was built by the famous Jim Hunter of Southern California. This bike was built up by Jim Hunter to race, for either Scrambles, Motocross, or Desert racing. Seller also has copies of the original BSA Factory build (dyno) sheet, that was obtained from the Gold Star Owners Club in England. This sheet verifies the engine and frame numbers are correct for this bike, the cams, transmission, and the basic "trim" are all correct as it left the factory and it was dyno'd on June 24, 1955 and then dispatched to Hap Alzina on January 11, 1956. This is a 1955 BSA Gold Star Scrambles, 500cc. NOTE this bike is not restored, it is very original as it was last raced, the only cosmetic/external changes made was to re-paint the exhaust pipe, replace the return oil lines, fuel line, replace the compression release cable, re-new the safety wire on the tach blanking cover and on the carb, and put on a new Uni Filter (the old foam type filter goes with the bike). Additionally the rocker shaft fiber washers were replaced. Title Guaranteed....more

1936 Indian Chief

Lot # 365 (Sale Order: 83 of 213)

This cycle is more than restored - it is remanufactured. All wearing parts such as pistons, transmission gears, seals, bearings, all engine shafts and races, valves, guides, etc. are new. It has been redone by Starklite Cycle, probably the oldest continuous operating Indian dealership in the country. It has been a family owned dealership since 1918 and has been run by Bob and Gary Stark since 1956. Purchase of this cycle is like buying it new in 1936. The rigid frame Indian models have been becoming more rare than the sprung frame models. This cycle is an excellent rider....more

1968 Indian Sam Pierce Super Scout

Lot # 366 (Sale Order: 84 of 213)

There were two legally recognized Indian manufacturers in the United States prior to 1970 who both legally issued engine and frame numbers. One was Indian in Springfield, Massachusetts and the other was Sam Pierce in San Gabriel, California. This cycle is a rare unrestored example, #14 of approximately 40 built. This one has a hand clutch, foot shift of Sam's design. No two were identical, since they were built to the customer's desires. This cycle has been judged three times in AMCA judging and has been awarded Junior First, Senior First, and Winners Circle trophies....more
