Jaguar XK120 Roadster

Lot # 253 (Sale Order: 151 of 194)

The Jaguar XK120 was manufactured between 1948 and 1954 and wasJaguar's first post-war sports car succeeding the SS100, whichceased production in 1940. It was launched in roadster form at the1948 London Motor Show as a test bed and show car for the newJaguar XK engine and caused a sensation persuading William Lyons toput it into production. The '120' name referred to its top speedwhich made it the world's fastest standard production car at thetime of its launch. It was available in two convertible versions;first as a roadster then also as a drophead coupé from 1953 and asa fixedhead coupé from 1951. The iconic shape of the Jaguar XK120roadster sustains the car's constant appreciation by classic carenthusiasts. They are eminently usable motorcars and understandablymuch coveted. Extremely robust, wonderfully reliable and infinitelyeye-catching; they are, understandably, one of the most collectablemotorcars available today.Manufactured on 24th November, 1953 and dispatched tothe Jaguar dealer in Los Angeles, the car was repatriated in 2003in need of restoration. The body was removed and the car totallyrebuilt mechanically including the fitment of a five-speed gearbox, disc brakes all-round and an electric cooling fan. The body wasthen restored to a high standard and the interior re-trimmed usingtop quality leather. The net result of this significant investmentis a Jaguar that can be used regularly and one that will enjoybeing driven with both ease and enthusiasm, as confirmed by ourenjoyable road test. Supplied with a Jaguar Heritage Certificateand a V5 registration document, this is altogether a brisk, handsome and well-sorted motorcar with entirely thoughtfulimprovements to vastly enhance the overall driving experience.

Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster (4.2 litre)

Lot # 254 (Sale Order: 152 of 194)

Launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type wasnothing short of a revelation. With its heady blend of supercarperformance, breathtaking styling and low price tag, the newcomerleft its rivals reeling and customers clamouring. Built as amonocoque with a front sub-frame to cradle the engine, the carscombination of all-round independent rack and pinion steeringtogether with four-wheel disc brakes gave it excellent road holdingand handling capabilities. The Series II Jaguar E-Type isidentified by open headlights without glass covers, a wrap-aroundrear bumper, re-positioned larger front indicators, tail lightsbelow the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged 'mouth' withtwin electric fans, and uprated brakes. The engine is easilyidentified visually by the change from smooth polished cam coversto a more industrial 'ribbed' appearance. The interior anddashboard were also redesigned, with rocker switches beingsubstituted for toggle switches. The dashboard switches also losttheir symmetrical layout. This Series II E-Type was originally exported to California in1970 and was repatriated to the UK in 1989 when she commenced asubstantial restoration. At the same time she was converted fromleft to righthand drive. The vendor is a keen car enthusiast andhas owned ALG 127J since 1991 and has enjoyed driving this splendidexample on the open roads of the Highlands. Finished in red withbiscuit interior and supplied with a V5 registration documenttogether with a current MoT test certificate and a history file, this Jaguar 4.2 E-Type is a delightful example and ready to enjoythe long balmy summer days that lay ahead.

ISO Grifo Seven Litre

Lot # 255 (Sale Order: 153 of 194)

Renzo Rivolta was a successful industrialist in the sector ofRefrigeration just outside Milan in Italy. During the post-warperiod of the 1950's, he branched into motor-scooters and thenmicrocars, manufacturing the Isetta Bubblecar which was verysuccessfully licenced to other manufacturers; most notably BMW whowent on to build over 130,000 examples. In 1962, Renzo Rivoltamoved into the luxury performance motorcar segment revealing, atthe Turin Motor Show, his sleek 2+2 'Rivolta IR300' competingdirectly with established marques such as Maserati and Ferrari. In1963, Giotto Bizzarrini (previously of Ferrari) provided mechanicalexpertise for Iso to refine the drivetrain and platform for a newBerlinetta Coupé with the bodywork penned by Gioretto Guigaro atBertone. The new Iso prototype 'Grifo A3/L' was revealed at the Turinshow in 1963 to overwhelming approval. First production Iso Grifo'sfollowed and all used reassembled and blueprinted ChevroletCorvette 5.4 litre engines until a seven-litre option wasintroduced in 1968. With some detailing modifications, such as asubtle bonnet scoop, necessary to accommodate the taller engine anda black band across the rear roof pillar to denote the car as aseven-Litre, a total of 322 Series I Grifo's were built before thedesign received a facelift in 1972 after which time a further 78(Series II) Grifo's were built. In total 90 Grifo's were specifiedin seven-Litre form with only four being built in righthanddrive. This Iso Grifo is the 1968 Earls Court Show car and is one ofonly four righthand drive, super-rare seven-litre Grifo's built.Whilst it was priced similarly to the Lamborghini Miura and FerrariDaytona in its day and with performance statistics to match, it hasonly been in more recent years that the collectability of Iso'sfinest cars has been comparable to the cars that the Iso's weredesigned to compete with when new.The knowledgeable owner, for the past 28 years, has been therecognised UK authority on Iso & Bizzarrini cars. Consequentlythe car is well published and its history very well documented.Purchased in 1986 without its original 427 cu in, 390bhp unit, a454 cu in replacement with 0.030" overbore delivers a displacementof 7.5 Litres. Aesthetically the engine bay remains very much as itwould have been when the car was new, in both show condition andphysical layout. Respected V8 Specialists 'Knight Racing' completedthe engine rebuild and dynamometer tests record 490bhp at5,500rpm.The engine is mated to a modern Tremec TKO600 five-speed gearboxcapable of handling this mighty power. This unit has a very closematch of ratios to the ZF gearbox that Iso originally optioned onits models. Considerable care and expense has been invested intothe manufacture of a stainless steel exhaust system which, althoughof bigger bore, is true to the subtle profile lines of the originaland sings with suitable throb and growl. The vendor relates that starting is reliable and the car quicklywarms. Handling is tight and power delivery instant and somewhatrelentless - the horizon arriving often quicker than anticipated. The poise of the car on the move is reported to be well balancedand purposeful; the brakes firm and strong. It is clear that agreat deal of time and effort have been invested into this car toensure that the driving experience is reliable yet exhilarating.Pampered, not raced, this Grifo is a true credit to its fastidiousowner. The black leather interior remains entirely original andbeautifully patinated. The red coachwork is virtually flawless andhas a deep, rich lustre. Wheels are Campagnolo Elektron withcorrect magnesium alloy centre spinners.High profile awards for the car include a First in Class trophyfor 'Best of Both Worlds' in the Cartier Style et Luxe at theGoodwood Festival of Speed in 2004.A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most powerful, rarestand most elegant-looking sporting GT's of the period.

Ferrari Scuderia 16M

Lot # 256 (Sale Order: 154 of 194)

Ferrari said, upon release, that the Scuderia Spider 16M is thehighest performance Spider that it had ever made. Like thefixedhead F430 Scuderia, this car also incorporates what Ferraricalls 'F1-derived' technology. With a limited edition 499-unitproduction run, the '16M moniker' refers to Ferrari's 16 F1Constructors World Championships- the latest of which was achievedin 2008. Although the 16M is derived from its enclosed predecessor, Ferrarihad taken the Scuderia concept even further. Despite the additionalbody strengthening, the 16M is 80kg lighter, tipping the scales atan admirable 1340kg. Much of this has been achieved by a majoroverhaul of the double-wishbone suspension as well as new dampersand a new steering box, even gaining titanium springs and wheelbolts, a measure of the 16M's extreme engineering brief. Powered bythe same 503bhp version of Ferrari's 4.3 litre, V8 found in thecoupé, the 16M had undergone an extra tweak in the form ofredesigned pistons which also allow for a higher compression ratiooffering 80% of the engine's torque on tap from 3,000rpm. Theengine drives the F1-SuperFast2 six-speed transmission, which canexecute shifts in a claimed 60 milliseconds via the steering wheelpaddles. Helping keep the 16M on the road is the F1-Trac traction controlsystem which allows the driver to select five basic 'characters'for the 16M from wet conditions, through good-road holding andtrack-driving. The car's electronic safety net can, though, beprogressively disabled with the CT setting allowing oversteer atmaximum power and CST taking away everything but the E-Diff'sefforts.   Capable of being pleasantly civilised and surprisingly aggressive, this 16M Scuderia, presented in Ferrari White with deep red Suedetrim, was purchased, or rather, was allowed to be purchased by awealthy eastern European business man in 2009 from Karner &Grossegger Automobile Ferrari in Austria. Initially cared for byWarm UP KFT Ferrari in Budapest, the initial owner transferredownership to his son in 2011 before selling the vehicle on to aprominent business contact of the family in Spain where GuarnieriMarbella and C.DE Salamanca S.A Ferrari have since serviced andcared for the car. Offered with UK registration, this lefthanddrive example is offered complete with all handbooks and relevantdocuments and, by our estimations, is a genuine example of a fastappreciating limited-edition Ferrari, a motorcar that Ferrari wererightly very proud of and, with only 499 ever produced many ofwhich will never come to market, this is a rare opportunity to owna slice of Maranello's finest.?

Bentley Arnage T

Lot # 257 (Sale Order: 155 of 194)

Not only is the Arnage T more expensive and more powerful thanits predecessor, the Arnage Green and Red Label models, but it alsoclaimed the title of world's fastest saloon, as it needs all butthe last two spots on its 170mph speedometer. The Arnage T ispowered by yet another version of 'ye olde' 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce,V8 engine whose roots go back to 1959. Treated to what Bentleydescribed as 'the most thorough re-engineering of its life', the2007 model year cars produced a staggering 500bhp. This prodigiousoutput, besides enabling this Bentley to reach 168mph, also sent itfrom 0 to 60mph in 5.2 seconds; the engine's most significantchange being the switch from a single turbocharger to one for eachbank of cylinders. Other changes included the adoption of a'drive-by-wire' throttle to go hand-in-glove with Bosch'sElectronic Stability Program which replaced the Red Label'straction control, but what really gives this nearly three-ton carits immense poise is a revised suspension that features 57 percentmore roll stiffness than the Red Label. The car's basic structureis also 10% stiffer which means there are no creaks and squeaks ofthe sort that distinguished previous generations of Bentleys. This stunning example of the Mulliner specification Arnage Tpresents in Tungsten Grey with a black diamond stitched Mullinerleather interior with additional 'Flying B's embossed on the seatbacks. The dashboard and waist rails have a 'turned alluminium'effect and the alluminium accelerator and brake pedals are drilled. The colour-coded split-rims are unmarked, privacy glass is fittedand detail even extends to two Bentley umbrellas fitted to theluggage compartment. Also included is a full Bentley servicehistory in both London and Glasgow. Supplied with a full complementof owners books, service history and 'Tracker' information as wellas both sets of keys, this epitome of the spirit of Bentley iscompetitively priced and a joy touse.?

Austin-Healey Mk. III BJ8

Lot # 258 (Sale Order: 156 of 194)

The Austin-Healey 3000 was built from 1959 to 1967 and is thebest known of the 'big' Healey models. The car's bodywork was madeby Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at the BMCAbingdon works. The 3000 was a successful car which won its classin many European rallies during its heyday and also ran at Le Mansduring that period. As such, it's still used in competition byenthusiasts today. The 3000 Mk. III was launched in October 1963and remained in production until the end of 1967 when production ofAustin-Healeys ceased. Classified as the BJ8, the new model was themost powerful and luxurious of the big Healeys with a walnut veneerdash, wind-up windows and a 150bhp engine. Improvements to theengine included a new camshaft, valve springs and twin SU 2" HD8carburettors together with a redesigned exhaust system andservo-assisted brakes.Manufactured in 1966, this Austin Healey was exported to the USand has recently been repatriated to the UK. A great deal of workhas been carried out on the car and a substantial amount ofpaperwork is supplied with her. The engine ran smoothly and quietlyduring our inspection and with good oil pressure. The bodywork isin good order as is the two-tone paintwork and the interiortrim.A registration application has been made to the DVLA and the cardoes have a full year's MoT test certificate making this a soundexample of a highly desirable Austin Healey BJ8.

Fiat Vignale Samantha Coupe

Lot # 259 (Sale Order: 157 of 194)

One of the most illustrious of Italian coachbuilders,Carrozzeria Vignale, had been founded in 1948 by Alfredo Vignale.Enzo Ferrari's favoured coachbuilder during the Maranellomanufacturer's formative years, Carrozzeria Vignale also designedand built cars for Lancia and Maserati among others and in the1960s, branched out into automobile manufacture in its own right. For Fiat, Vignale built show models, prototypes and some limitededition models. Based on the contemporary Fiat 124 and 125 models, the 1.6-Litre, Vignale-bodied Samantha was built in small numbersin the late 1960s. Vignale's sleek coupé body had very fluid lines, thanks to the recessed, 'pop up' headlights, yet neverthelessafforded comfortable seating for four and a decent amount ofluggage space. With 100bhp on tap, delivered via a five-speedgearbox, the Samantha was similar in performance to the 125S donorcar, with a 0-60mph time of 13 seconds and a top speed of 106mph.Production run of the Samantha 125S is estimated at approximately100, and these cars were not distributed through Fiat main dealers, leaving foreign importation in the hands of independentspecialists. Only a relative handful are believed to have survived, making the Samantha 125S one of the rarest twin-cam Fiats of theperiod. We could thank Greek casino tycoon, Frixos Demitriou forthe right hand drive Samantha, as it is reputed that in exchangefor a gambling debt, he went to visit the Vignale factory and wasoffered 200 of the company's cars, configured in right hand drive, for resale in the UK. A mixture of Gamines, 850s, 124 Evelines and125 Samanthas were subsequently built and shipped, but in the end,the venture failed and a fleet of unsold cars followed Demitriouback to Cyprus. In 1970 Demitriou died under bizarre circumstances, when an army tank ran over his Vignale-Fiat while he was stillinside!! The incident followed Alfredo Vignale's own unexplainedpassing, also in a Vignale-Fiat, in 1969 just three days after hehad sold the Vignale factory to De Tomaso (Ferrari's bitterrivals), for preparing their Ghia bodied Pantera forproduction. This 1969 Fiat by Vignale Samantha Coupe, presented inturquoise, with beige leather interior was runner up in the 2012'Classic Car of The Year' Awards by Practical Classics and ClassicCar Weekly, Under its previous ownership, the car has undergone a17 year on/off restoration by RM Restorations in Colchester, andthe finished product is absolutely fantastic. When the car wasfirst restored, the owner decided to have the original 1608cc twincam engine rebuilt and during the rebuild, a larger 1995cc twin camunit from a Fiat Argenta was fitted, which remains in the cartoday, however, the original 1608cc engine comes with the saleshould the new owner wish to revert to the original. A large andcomprehensive history and restoration file accompanies thebeautiful Coupé, which makes fascinating reading and we believethis to be the only Vignale Samantha registered in the UK today, and perhaps the only surviving righthand drive model. This stunningly beautiful car is a legend which will continue tofascinate those with a love of motoring history and folk-lore. Itis a thing of rare beauty that surely can only appreciate in value, considering that the Samantha Coupé, designed by Alfredo Vignale, had less than100 of these beautiful motorcars ever made, with only27 in righthand drive.

Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 Fixedhead Coupé

Lot # 261 (Sale Order: 159 of 194)

The Jaguar E-Type was 10 years old and needed new life. Historyrepeated itself by achieving huge success when Jaguar debuted itsrobust new engine in a sportscar instead of the saloon for which itwas designed. Despite its sportscar heritage, Jaguar depended onsaloon vehicles for its survival and had developed its twelvecylinder engine to power them with sufficient torque andrefinement. Larger and softer in nature with weight redistributed53/47, the Series III had lost the wilds of its youth but gainedthe long legged touring profile to which it was arguably bettersuited. Robert Bell in Motor was quoted as saying at the time that'all we expected to try was a new engine but what in fact we drovewas a new car. Not a yowling, aggressive Ferrari-like machine withwhich, perhaps, most people associate a V12 engine but a verysmooth, quiet and refined grand touring sports car.'This two owner Series III fixedhead coupé was supplied new tothe first owner, Mr. A H Gordon, who lived in London.  Thenext owner, Mr. R H Reeves, acquired the car in April 1976 who thenchanged the registered keeper to his daughter in 1994. This verygood, original example has been off the road since 2000 and hasjust been re-commissioned this year only requiring a new clutchmaster cylinder, fuel filters, ignition coil and new pedal springs. The vendor believes that the mileage is correct at 46,710 miles andthe old MoT's, the 2000 insurance valuation certificate and theoverall condition of this E-Type appear to validate that claim. This Series III E-Type, finished in Cotswold blue with dark blueinterior, only requires minor cosmetic restoration. Supplied withthe car is the V5C registration document, all the old registrationdocuments going back to 1976, the handbook pack which contains theservice book and dealer book, a set of the original sales brochuresand a file of old MoT test certificate and invoices. Thisclassically dynamic design is still a head turner.?

Rolls-Royce Camargue

Lot # 262 (Sale Order: 160 of 194)

With plenty of money at the top of the market in the early1970s, Rolls-Royce decided to try and conquer a little bit more ofit by building a range-topping coupé to slot in above the Cornichein the model range. Using the Silver Shadow underpinnings andenlisting Pininfarina to style them, Rolls-Royce came up with theCamargue - Britain's most expensive car at a launch price of£29,250. Pininfarina ended up styling something reasonably handsomebut also very derivative so there was a resemblance to a Fiat 130coupé and Ferrari GT4 2+2 designs. The 6,750cc, V8 had extra powerand torque than the Corniche but, in truth, it didn't feel all thatdifferent to drive which might explain why the Corniche outsold theCamargue… that and, of course, the lofty price tag. This example of a now, increasingly rare find, is presented inLarkspur Blue with Nuella Stone interior which was re-upholsteredjust five years ago and is in lovely condition. A very well caredfor example offering a wealth of history, including all originalhandbooks and service book, this car was originally supplied byMann Egerton & Co. of Derby in April 1980 and has been servicedand stamped 12 times in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1993,1998 with Rolls Royce dealers. This beautiful Camargue is offeredwith a wealth of invoices for recent care from Rolls-Roycespecialists, with recent works detailed in the history fileincluding a conversion to run on unleaded fuel and a Vortexstainless steel exhaust system. The file also includes an MoT testcertificate valid until May 2016 and V5 registration document. Anopportunity to own an example of what was once the most expensivecar on the planet and what is becoming an increasingly rareproposition.

***WITHDRAWN****BMW M635 CSi

Lot # 266 (Sale Order: 164 of 194)

***WITHDRAWN***Karmann manufactured the early 6-Series BMWs from launch in 1976before BMW took production in-house. The most significanttechnological upgrade on the E24 range took place in 1982 afterwhich all models were constructed upon the more advanced E28chassis through until production ceased in 1989. Despite offeringhigh horse-power and a top speed af 134mph, demand for the 628CSiremained low by comparison to the 635CSi variant which by far andaway formed the vast majority of sales for the E24 family. This1983 628CSi has the pure elegant lines associated with the earliercars which accentuate the 'shark-nose' design in the absence of thefront skirts and other exterior evolutions which came with thelater generations. Leyland Mini 1000 Van

Lot # 267 (Sale Order: 165 of 194)

The original Mini is considered a British icon of the 1960s withits space-saving, front-wheel drive layout, allowing 80% of thecar's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage and was votedthe second most influential car of the 20th century, behind theFord Model T. The distinctive, two-door vehicle was designed by SirAlec Issigonis and was manufactured at Longbridge and Cowleyplants. The Mini Mk. I had three major UK updates; the Mk. II, theClubman and the Mk. III. Within these were a series of variationsincluding an estate car, a pick-up and a van. Initially, Minis weremarketed under the Austin and Morris names as the Austin Seven andMorris Mini Minor until Mini became a marque in its own right in1969.This fully restored Mini 1000 van was first registered in June1978, to a Mr. Sargeant in Denver, Norfolk and sold by Lovell'sGarage. As evident in the service passport, Lovell's Garageserviced the original car annually until 1982 at which point, ithad covered 24,432 miles. Lovell's then sold the car to a Mr.Harman which is where the history, unfortunately, falls away.Purchased again in 1988 by its now keeper with the intention to bea lovely first car for his son, the Mini underwent a fullrestoration, including engine and interior, complemented by a baremetal re-spray in Brooklands Green. Disappointingly, the vendorwent to these efforts, only to realise, upon insuring the vehicle, its commercial status was not cost effective for a 17 year old. Thequality is extremely good and the van today is as good as it waswhen the restoration was complete. Along with the vehicle, theoriginal Service Passport, Driver's Handbook and a wealth of oldMoT and registration documents can be found, tracking the ownershipof the little motorcar, meaning this example would make a fantasticaddition for a mini connoisseur or perhaps even as a PR/marketingtool.

Mercedes-Benz S500

Lot # 269 (Sale Order: 167 of 194)

The W140 was a flagship vehicle premiered at the Geneva MotorShow in March 1991 with the first examples rolling off theproduction line in August 1991. The SE/SEL/SEC cars were renamedthe S-Class, with alphanumerical designations inverted. The W140was the first of the 'next generation' of Mercedes-Benz models tofeature the company's new design theme and development began in1981, originally set for an autumn 1989 release. From 1982 to 1986several designs were reviewed, until December 1986 when the finaldesign was approved. The W140 introduced innovations such asdouble-pane window glazing, power-assisted closing for doors andboot lid, electric windows which lowered back down uponencountering an obstruction and a heating system which, if desired, continued to emit warm air after the engine was turned off. Fordetails like this, the W140 is often known as the lastMercedes-Benz to be 'over-engineered;' a trait which was costingthe company in product delays and over-budgeting. The W140 used ahydropneumatic rear suspension, first introduced on the W126 range. In 1993, the 408hp, V12 engine was slightly detuned to 389hp tocomply with more stringent emission control regulations. This lefthand drive S500 presents in very good order, withvirtually unmarked metallic grey coachwork and black trim. Thespecification of the S500 Mercedes-Benz is excellent with leathertrim, electric seats, air conditioning, anti-lock brakes and cruisecontrol all standard fitment. Effortless driving is probably thebest way to describe this example, which has been very wellmaintained having previously been owned by an Embassy. Suppliedwith a V5 registration document and a full years' MoT testcertificate together with a comprehensive history folder, thisMercedes-Benz S500 is offered without reserve.

Jaguar XJS Convertible

Lot # 270 (Sale Order: 168 of 194)

The Jaguar XJS is a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 to1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the samesporting image, the XJS was a competent successor with betteraerodynamics than the E-Type. The last XJS was produced on 4thApril 1996, by which time 115,413 had been produced spanning a 21year production life. The specifications of the XJS compared wellagainst Italian cars with acceleration of 0-60mph in 7.6 secondsand a top speed of 143mph. In 1983, a new 3.6 litre AJ6straight-six engine was introduced by Jaguar and at the same time anew cabriolet model, the XJ-SC became available. The XJ-SC was nota full convertible but had a non-removable centre targa-typestructure and fixed rails above the doors. The static rear quarterwindows remained. The two-seat XJ-SC targa was replaced by atwo-seat full convertible in 1988, which proved to be a greathit.Presented in Diamond Blue with navy hood, this V12 convertibleis offered in a beautiful and sought after combination withunmarked alloy wheels and excellent coachwork. This particularexample has been very well cared for but unfortunately in latesummer of 2014 suffered light damage. The insurance company paidout on the claim and this example has since been the subject to acomprehensive inspection by Autolign of Northampton to ensure allrepairs were of a suitably high standard and I not categorised.Having covered just 51,000 miles and offered with a stamped servicehistory, new MoT test certificate (valid until March 2016) variousold MoT test certificates, a very good history file and even thetool kit present in the boot this is a fantastic opportunity toacquire a fast and appreciating classic which frankly, looks as newdespite its 24 years of age!

Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Coupé

Lot # 271 (Sale Order: 169 of 194)

The Porsche 996 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911model- manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005. On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant changes to the Carrera modelsince its 1963 introduction, namely the water-cooled enginereplacing the previously air-cooled unit. Progressively stringentnoise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation forrefinement and a high-performance, four-valve-per-cylinder enginemade the switch necessary. Other changes included a sleeker bodywith a more steeply raked windshield and a re-designedinterior.This Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Coupé was originally registered on5th May 1999 and has been exceedingly well maintained. The currentvendor is a very knowledgeable Porsche enthusiast who knows theimportance of caring for such a car. This C4 is fitted with atipronic gearbox, sports exhaust and 18" alloy wheels that havebeen recently refurbished and shod with N4 Pirelli PZero tyres. Thesilver coachwork is virtually unblemished and the grey leather trimis in excellent order. Electric front seats and an electricsunroof, together with air conditioning are fitted to thiswell-equipped Porsche. Benefitting from a recent service includingchanging the coil pack and spark plugs, this Carrera Coupé issupplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificatevalid until 2nd September 2015 and a substantial history file. Itis worth noting that included within the history file is an invoicefor a replacement engine costing over £6,000 in 2011. This caroffers superb value for money, considering the estimate.

Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior

Lot # 272 (Sale Order: 170 of 194)

The Alfa Romeo 105 series coupé was designed by GiorgettoGiugiaro of Bertoné and was considered to be one of his greatestdesigns. Not only as one of the best looking and handling classicsaloon cars of the period, but the advanced specification with itsfive-speed gearbox, all round disc brakes, independent suspensionand powerful twin-cam engine still has the capability to embarrassmany of its modern counterparts. This 1971 example offered today is presented in Giallo Ochra(Yellow Ochre) with contrasting black Alfatex trim. Somerestoration works have been undertaken over the past ten years andare recorded within the history file and amounting to approximately£12,500. An inspection underneath the car shows that previousworks, although sound, are not to concourse standards. The vendorinforms us that an engine rebuild has more recently been carriedout with the invoice totaling approximately £5,700. On a recenttest drive, the little Alfa started easily and displayed excellentoil pressure. Once warmed, the car drove well with gear changesbeing easy and the car pulling to a stop with reassurance.Reversing provided none of the jumping out of reverse gear thatsometimes is a common problem on these models. This GT Junior lookssmart, is a genuine righthand drive, UK registered example andcomes with a current MoT test certificate valid until30th September 2015. With these attractive Bertonécoupés being as popular as ever, it is felt that this exampleoffers excellent value given the keen estimate.

Range Rover Brooklands (3.9 litre)

Lot # 273 (Sale Order: 171 of 194)

The first generation Range Rover was produced between 1970 and1996. The original car was not designed as a luxury 4x4; whilecertainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, theearly models had fairly basic, utilitarian interiors with vinylseats and plastic dashboards designed to be washed down with ahose.  Features such as power assisted steering, carpetedfloors; air conditioning, cloth/leather seats and wooden interiortrim were fitted later. The Range Rover was a body-on-frame designwith a box section ladder type chassis similar to contemporary LandRovers. The Range Rover utilised coil springs as opposed to leafsprings, permanent four-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes andwas originally powered by the Rover V8 engine. This example is a rare Brooklands model (one of 150) and is inexcellent condition. The green paintwork has a great depth to itand the grey velour trim in very good order. The body was restoredtwo years ago and she drives with no known faults. Supplied with aV5 registration document and a full years' MoT test certificate, together with some service history, Range Rover Classics havebecome highly desirable and sought after. Triumph GT6 Coupé Mk. III

Lot # 274 (Sale Order: 172 of 194)

A fastback Spitfire powered by the 2000 saloon's two litre, sixcylinder engine, the GT6 arrived in October 1966 with productionrunning until 1973. Like the Spitfire, it inherited what wasessentially the Triumph Herald's chassis and running gear which hadalready proved capable of handling six-cylinder power whendeveloped for the Vitesse saloon. A comfortable ride was consideredvital for the all-important North American market so the GT6inherited the Herald/Spitfire's softly sprung rear swing axlethough the latter arrangement would be superseded by lowerwishbones on the GT6 Mk. II. At the same time the engine received apower boost courtesy of the TR5 cylinder head and 'hotter'camshaft, maximum output increasing from 95 to 104bhp. Therestyled, last-of-the-line, Mk. III adopted the contemporarySpitfire's simpler 'swing-spring' rear suspension. Briskperformance (100mph+) and stylish, the GT6 well deserved its 'miniE-Type' sobriquet and today, is one of the most sought after ofpost-war Triumph sports cars with only 13,042 Mk. III examplesmanufactured.Originally registered on 15th September 1972, thisGT6 is a sound example although a little light re-commissioning isrequired. The 1998cc engine starts and runs well and we are advisedshe drives well. These stylish sports-cars have become highlysought after of late and an example such as this represents anideal opportunity to obtain one at a reasonable cost. The bodyworkshows little sign of corrosion although the interior would benefitfrom some time and investment. Supplied with a V5 registrationdocument, this Triumph could well prove to be a fineinvestment.

The instruments were supplemented by digitalunits which gave such information as the time, elapsed driving timeand external temperature and were the first Rolls-Royce to befitted with a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy. This example offered in Light Ocean Blue with dark blue leatherhide was first registered in November 1982, a lovely example thathas had a newly rebuilt gearbox and a wealth of recent works whichshould inspire confidence in any new prospective owner, coupledwith an MoT test certificate valid until May 2016.
