Garcia SIGNED Hart Valley Drifters 1962 photo
Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 2 of 348)
Below each performer hand signed their names and instruments:
Jerry Garcia – Banjo – voice
David Nelson – Guitar + voice
Norman Van Maastricht - Dobro
Robert Hunter - Bass
Who would have ever guessed the musical history that this lineup would later bring to the world.
This is the actual first generation photograph of Jerry Garcia's first recording as a professional musician; and probably Dave Nelson and Robert Hunter’s first recorded professional gigs as well. This is where it all began in the early 1960’s, and these signatures date and document a musical history that it still alive and well more than a half a century later. We begin our historical artifact and artwork event with the oldest and best preserved band signed photo of The Hart Valley Drifters. It is an old worn, used and not pristine straight from the old photo album historical artifact that has corner marks from aging.
