German Third Reich NSDAP Orstgruppe Zellenleiter Armband

Lot # 129 (Sale Order: 127 of 262)

21" x 5".  Red wool with gold bullion oak leaves and banding.  Black mobile swastika trimmed in gold bullion with center pip.  Ear of band shows stamped "up" indicator and RZM tag showing number "154428".

This armband, with its blue edge trim would have been worn by a Zellenleiter (Cell/block leader), who was in charge of orstgruppe (local) Nazi Party operations in a "cell" of approximately eight to twelve city blocks.  The exact title and responsibilities would change several times during the Nazi Party's time in power.  Many of those in the Zellenleiter position would be pressed into military leadership positions of the citizen-militias formed during the German's desperate last defense.

**Fine condition.  Wool is of good bright color with no major fraying or wear of stitching.  A stunning example of this rare piece for the advanced researcher or collector.**

Lot of Two Third Reich Musician's "Swallow's Nests" (Schwalbennester)

Lot # 133 (Sale Order: 131 of 262)

Meant to encourage (and enforce) Nazi ideology in every aspect of German life, the NSDAP even formed bands to perform at the myriad of rallies and ceremonies put on by the Third Reich.  The brown backing indicated wear by musicians in the kreis, or "district" level offices.  The 3cm gold fringe indicates a standard musician rank.
