WW1 German Artillery Officer's Sword & Scabbard, ca. 1914

Lot # 1411 (Sale Order: 152 of 304)

This World War I period German Artillery Officer's Sword, marked with the coveted ACS scales marker mark, indicates it was crafted by Alcoso Werks Solingen, a renowned and exceptional sword maker of the period. The blade features bright, smooth steel surfaces with a great polish, showcasing the high-quality preservation of the swords blade. The P-Guard hilt includes a single bottom knuckle-guard, and the wire-bound, leather-covered wooden grip retains its black leather covering. This Artillery Officer's Sword is a fine example of such an aged piece of WW1 militaria.

The sword is complete with its original, black-painted iron scabbard, which includes an integral single suspension loop and drag. The scabbard is in rough condition, with ~80% of its finish intact and light abrasions. adding to its value and collectibility. The hilt shows light staining and mottling.

Artillery Officer's Swords from this period are highly sought after due to them being found in very poor condition, unlike this example. This particular sword, with its well-preserved condition and original components, is a rare find. Swords bearing the ACS scales logo are considered even more valuable due to their limited production and the high standards maintained by the manufacturer. The combination of the P-Guard hilt, wire-bound grip, and original scabbard makes it a coveted piece for collectors of military artifacts.

M1 Garand Original WW2 Period Springfield Armory Mfg. March 1944 2.5 Moderate Barrel w/ Original Sli

Lot # 1452 (Sale Order: 158 of 304)

This is a WW2-era Springfield Armory M1 Garand, manufactured in March of 1944. Given its production date, this rifle was likely issued in time for the Normandy Invasion (D-Day) or later European campaigns, making it a strong candidate for having seen frontline action in the European Theater of Operations (ETO).

It retains its original WW2 components, including a moderate 2.5-barrel reading, a medium-wear stock and receiver, and its original sling. The wear on the stock and metal surfaces is consistent with field use, further supporting its potential service history. M1 Garands produced in early 1944 were commonly issued to U.S. infantry units fighting through France, Belgium, and Germany, and this rifle may have been carried by a soldier through some of the most pivotal battles of the war.

All firearms listed in this auction are the property of Collectors Crossroads and will be sold exclusively through that entity. Springfield Armory M1 Garand (Post-Korean War, Manufactured December 1955)

Lot # 1455 (Sale Order: 161 of 304)

This Springfield Armory M1 Garand, manufactured in December 1955, is one of the last official runs of the legendary M1 Garand before production shifted focus to newer rifle platforms. As a post-Korean War production model, it reflects Springfield’s final refinements to the design after lessons learned in both World War II and the Korean War.

This rifle features a 2.5 to almost 3.0 barrel, which may require replacement but remains a solid foundation for collectors seeking an authentic M1 Garand at a more accessible price point. By the mid-1950s, M1 Garands like this were still being used by U.S. military forces in Cold War-era conflicts, including in early advisory missions to Vietnam.

These rifles were supplied to NATO allies under the Military Assistance Program (MAP), helping arm Western European nations during rising tensions with the Soviet Union. An excellent opportunity for collectors, restorers, or enthusiasts who appreciate the enduring legacy of the M1 Garand.

All firearms listed in this auction are the property of Collectors Crossroads and will be sold exclusively through that entity. As a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder in the state of Texas, Collectors Crossroads will handle all necessary FFL processing, fees, background checks, and legal transfers.

M1 Garand Post Korean War H.&R. Arms Co. Manufactured Jan. 1955

Lot # 1456 (Sale Order: 162 of 304)

This Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. (H&R) M1 Garand, manufactured in January 1955, is a post-Korean War production model that reflects the quality and precision of one of the lesser-known M1 Garand manufacturers. H&R was one of only four companies contracted by the U.S. government to produce M1 Garands, making their rifles less common than Springfield Armory examples.

This rifle features a 3.5 muzzle barrel that will need replacement, but it retains its original Cold War-era production components. Many rifles of this period saw service in post-Korean War garrisons, early Vietnam War advisory operations, and NATO training programs. A great candidate for restoration or as a functional historic rifle.

All firearms listed in this auction are the property of Collectors Crossroads and will be sold exclusively through that entity. Lot # 1504 (Sale Order: 168 of 304)

German WW2 NSDAP SA/SS Sports Badge In Bronze stamped PFORZHEIM

Lot # 1509 (Sale Order: 173 of 304)

German WW2 NSDAP SA/SS Sports Badge In Bronze (SA-Sportabzeichen) stamped PFORZHEIM KARL HENSLER EINGENTUM D.S.A.SPORTABZEICHEN HAUPTSTEL

The SA Sports Badge in Bronze (SA-Sportabzeichen) was originally instituted on November 28, 1933, by SA-Stabschef Ernst Röhm as a way to promote physical fitness among members of the Sturmabteilung (SA) and Schutzstaffel (SS). Later, in 1935, Adolf Hitler expanded its eligibility to include all German nationals, encouraging civilians to qualify for the award in three grades—bronze, silver, and gold.

This example is a die-struck magnetic sheet metal badge with a bronze wash, featuring a circular oak-leaf wreath surrounding a Roman-style sword superimposed over a swastika. The detailing includes fine veins on the oak leaves, horizontal ribbing on the sword grip, and precise cutouts throughout the interior design. The reverse is a mirror image of the obverse and is stamped PFORZHEIM KARL HENSLER, along with EINGENTUM D.S.A. SPORTABZEICHEN HAUPTSTEL, which both further validify its authenticity. The original semi-rounded vertical pin, raised soldered catch, and hinge remain intact. This is a fantastic collectible for enthusiasts of NSDAP awards, sports badges, or Third Reich memorabilia.

German WW2 SS 1st Pattern Cap Eagle Pin, stamped RZM with complete two pins Vet Bringback - Rare!

Lot # 1511 (Sale Order: 175 of 304)

An exceptionally rare first pattern SS Cap Eagle, used from 1927 to 1936 before being replaced by the second version. This Eagle bears the coveted RZM marking, indicating manufacture under the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) system, which oversaw wartime Germanys uniform production. This insignia was worn on the kepis of SA and SS personnel and later adopted by NSDAP political leaders in 1931.

This eagle is die-struck with crisp details, featuring outstretched wings with a central swastika. The reverse is RZM-marked, confirming its authenticity as an official party-issued piece. Both original attachment pins remain intact, though a small amount of solder has been applied to reinforce them—an indication that this eagle was worn and likely removed from a cap as a wartime souvenir by a returning Allied veteran.

These first pattern eagles were produced in various sizes and styles, with this example representing an early, high-quality piece. It remains a significant and highly sought-after artifact, ideal for collectors of SS insignia, SA memorabilia, or early NSDAP political regalia.
