Item Details
ConditionGood to Very Good
This German WW2 Third Reich SA NSKK Dagger is an incredible example of the edged weapons carried by members of the Sturmabteilung (SA), also known as the Brownshirts, a paramilitary wing of the early German regime. The dagger features the coveted "RZM M7/73" (F. u. A. Helbig, Steinbach) marking on a nickel-plated steel blade, retaining visible cross graining with light runner marks and minor blemishes. The wooden grip is adorned with a tightly inset SA roundel and an eagle clutching a swastika, while the steel scabbard, still preserving most of its original black painted finish, is fitted with nickel-plated components that show only minor wear. An original "DRGM" Assman marked hanger is attached, a rare find on these highly sought-after daggers.
Introduced in 1933, the SA dagger was a standard issue to members of the SA, commonly known as the Brownshirts, who played a crucial role in the Nazi Party’s rise to power. Designed to reflect loyalty and ideological commitment, the dagger bore the engraved motto "Alles für Deutschland" ("Everything for Germany"), a phrase meant to instill nationalist fervor. As the SA’s influence declined, the dagger design remained in use with the National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK), an organization responsible for military logistics and transportation.
