German WW1 Imperial Commemorative Flyer’s Badge (Prussia) – Air Service Retirement Award

Lot # 505 (Sale Order: 130 of 308)

This is a German WWI-era Imperial Commemorative Flyer’s Badge, issued by the Kingdom of Prussia to retired flight crew members of the German Army Air Service (Luftstreitk...moreräfte) during the First World War. Designed to honor aviators who had completed their active duty, this badge features the classic Prussian flying eagle clutching a swastika, framed by a laurel and oak wreath, and typically constructed in silvered or gray-toned metal. Unlike the wartime pilot’s qualification badge awarded during active service, this commemorative version was reserved exclusively for those who had formally left flight duty, making it both rarer and highly collectible. These badges were worn on civilian dress or uniforms post-service, and today serve as historical reminders of Germany’s early military aviation and the elite status held by its wartime pilots.

WW1–WW2 Era Cast Metal Toy Soldiers – Set of Three

Lot # 506 (Sale Order: 131 of 308)

Offered here is a set of three cast metal toy soldiers, likely dating from the WWI to WWII period. Each figure is sculpted in combat or marching pose, painted in period-s...moretyle military colors. The soldiers are made from solid metal (possibly lead or pot metal), with hand-painted details showing expected wear and minor chipping consistent with age. Vintage metal soldiers like these were popular from the early 20th century through the mid-century era, reflecting changing uniforms, weapons, and national styles. Sets were often used for play, diorama, or wartime morale-building, and today are highly collectible for their nostalgic and historical value. German WW1 Iron Cross 1st Class (EK1) – “800” Silver Marked

Lot # 507 (Sale Order: 132 of 308)

This is a rare, private purchase example of the Iron Cross 1st Class (EK1) from the First World War, featuring a fitted and straight pin back, usually an indicator of a h...moreigher-grade, non-issue manufacture. The reverse is stamped “800”, denoting silver content, with no additional maker mark present. Private purchase EK1s were acquired by soldiers who desired a more elegant or durable version than the standard issued piece. These examples, often crafted with higher silver content and finer finishes, are widely considered superior to field-awarded versions. The shape and premium construction make this a standout example among collectors. Condition shows light oxidation to the obverse, with minor loss to the front finish, but the cross retains strong definition and full integrity. This piece represents one of only ~218,000 EK1s awarded during the conflict, compared to over 5 million 2nd Class awards, and remains a highly sought-after symbol of Imperial German military valor. Provenance: A veteran bringback.

German WW2 Exceptional Full Ground Röhm Display with more Wartime SA Artifacts

Lot # 595 (Sale Order: 139 of 308)

This grouping includes an early M1933 Sturmabteilung (SA) dagger by J.A. Henckels, Solingen, with the Röhm dedication ground off. The dagger features its original scabbar...mored and a period SA hanger clip marked “DRGM” with the Assmann maker’s mark. It is presented in a 24x12 inch glass-top display case along with an original SA stormtrooper armband (with RZM label), War Merit Cross with ribbon, NSDAP party membership pin, SA lapel stickpin, and an extremely rare original signed photograph of Ernst Röhm. The dagger measures 14 inches in total length, with a 9-inch blade. Early M1933 SA daggers are iconic Third Reich edged weapons, issued to members of the Sturmabteilung. Röhm-inscribed blades were issued to high-ranking or early SA members until Hitler’s order in 1934 that all such inscriptions be removed following Röhm’s fall from power. Ground Röhm daggers are highly collectible, and this example by Henckels is among the rarer makers. Ernst Röhm was the Chief of Staff of the SA from 1931 until his execution in 1934 during the “Night of the Long Knives”, Hitler’s political purge of perceived threats. As a key early figure in the Nazi rise to power, Röhm’s legacy is tightly interwoven with the brutal evolution of the regime. Artifacts associated with him, especially genuine signed photographs, are exceptionally scarce due to his erasure from official Nazi history after his death.

German WW2 M42 Heer Tropical Camouflage Helmet - Southern Front/Italian Campaign

Lot # 597 (Sale Order: 141 of 308)

This is an all original WW2 German M42 Heer Tropical Helmet, featuring a period-applied tan camouflage finish, commonly associated with service in warmer climates such as...more the Italian or Southern European fronts. The stamped steel shell bears the marking “NS64” on the interior skirt, identifying the maker as Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke (NS). The rear skirt is stamped with lot number “1867”. A good portion of the tropical tan camouflage remains visible, though naturally faded from exposure and wear, with areas revealing the original feldgrau factory finish beneath. The Heer eagle decal on the left side of the helmet remains well preserved and legible. The liner and chinstrap are no longer present, but the helmet retains its authentic combat-worn patina throughout. Although such tan finishes are commonly linked to the Afrika Korps, the production period and style of this example suggest it may also have seen use in other southern campaigns, such as Italy or the Balkans. Regardless of exact theater, helmets with genuine tropical camouflage remain highly sought after for their visual appeal and frontline character. This is a fine, all-original example. The helmet retains a good portion of its tan tropical camo, now faded and worn to reveal the original feldgrau base paint beneath. The left side displays well preserved condition of the Heer (Army) eagle decal, still visible. While the liner and chinstrap are no longer present, the helmet’s surface wear and coloration speak to its age and possible field use in the African campaign. Afrika Korps camouflage helmets are among the most collectible of WWII German combat helmets, given their limited distribution and the harsh service conditions they endured. This example is a classic representation of those field-modified pieces — rugged, utilitarian, and evocative of the grueling campaign fought across desert terrain. A desirable addition to any WWII or German militaria collection focused on frontline service and elite formations.

German WW2 Forstwartanwärter (Forest Ranger Candidate) Collar Tabs – Matched Pair, 1941–1942

Lot # 598 (Sale Order: 142 of 308)

Offered here is a matched pair of original WWII-era collar tabs (Kragenspiegel) for a Forstwartanwärter, or Forest Ranger Candidate, in the German Reich Forestry Service....more Constructed of finely woven grey wool, each tab features green piping around the edge and the distinctive device-less field indicative of a trainee rank. These were worn on the collar of the service tunic by individuals undergoing official training for future service as forest rangers. The pair is in outstanding condition with minimal wear and no significant mothing, fading, or fraying. Between 1941 and 1942, the Reich’s forestry apparatus expanded as it aligned itself closely with the wartime economy and environmental policies of Nazi Germany. Forestry workers and trainees were incorporated into uniformed paramilitary-style branches of the civil service, often outfitted in field-gray garments closely resembling military attire. As a result, uniform insignia like these are frequently mistaken for Wehrmacht or SS items but actually stem from a distinct administrative chain with its own complex hierarchy and symbolism. These tabs represent the entry point into that structure, making them a rare and educational addition to any collection focused on WWII German civil services or uniform insignia.

German WW2 Rare Waffen-SS Afrika Korps Tropical Sleeve Eagle – Uniform Removed

Lot # 599 (Sale Order: 143 of 308)

This is an original WWII-era Waffen-SS tropical sleeve eagle, machine-embroidered on tan cotton and removed from a tropical field tunic. The eagle is rendered in light grey thread on a khaki background, designed for camouflage in arid environments. The patch shows clear signs of wear, with expected edge fraying from uniform removal, but retains excellent detail and definition in the eagle's wings and swastika emblem.

This specific variant was produced for Waffen-SS troops operating in the Mediterranean and North African theaters, notably those attached to the Afrika Korps or deployed in Italy, the Balkans, or Greece. Tropical camouflage was produced in far fewer numbers than standard field grey versions, making surviving examples especially collectible. The patchs association with elite SS units operating in harsh desert conditions adds historical and rarity value, particularly when uniform-removed.
