IRISH PERCUSSION NAVEL BOARDING GUN "GODDARD". Irish percussion navel boarding gun with attached fold-down triangular bayonet. Flared brass barrel is 14" long and 1 3/8" wide at muzzle. Bayonet has a trigger shaped release at tang which opens up the 10" blade. Lock and hammer are scroll engraved and marked Goddard. Stock is very good and checkered at the wrist. The second is a fifty dollar note of the Confederacy, from Richmond, VA and dated Sept. 2nd, 1864. It is accompaniedby two contemporary postcards of Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee. LOT OF 7 SHERIFF ITEMS INCLUDING COLT MODEL 1877. Colt model 1877 lightning revolver in 38 caliber with 3.5" barrel and no ejector. Nickle plated with 75-80 % plating. Brown hard rubber grips. As usual with these, the action needs a little work. Bore is very good. Comes with a period leather holster and carved belt with cartridgeloops, and a five pointed star circular sheriff’s badge. A home-made bowie knife with tooled sheath is also part of the set. Knife has a black leather washer handle and blade is 6.5" long. A pair of large nickle plated leg irons with key is also included. Final item is a photo of the previous owner dressed in white with a ten gallon hat. A neat original set that should always stay together. Estimated Value $1,200 - 1,500....more

This piece is unsigned by the maker, as were most "issued" bugles of the time, the long valve coils 3 times between the mouthpiece and the horn with some applied mounts at the base. OHIO CIVIL WAR DRUM W/ H. LAWRENCE PHOTO. Lot of two items. First is a beautiful Civil War drum from Ohio. Drum is 16" high and 17" in diameter with an American eagle painted on the front. Eagle has a banner in its mouth that reads "Reg US Infantry" and a shield at its breast. Has olive branch in right talon and arrows in left. Drum has a blue background with most paint solid but nicely aged. To the right of this painted area is a 7" wide section decorated with brass tacks which surround the view hole. There is no label left on the inside. This is an extremely nice drum with a later belt and drumsticks. Second item is a photo of the drummer, Corporal Henry Lawrence Smith of Company A, 70th Regiment, Ohio Infantry. This information is on a card at back of the photo which is dated 1862. Photo is in a gutta percha frame with a copper border. 16"W x 17"H. Estimated Value $5,000 - 7,500....more

Back side copper has a large war monument in relief and is enscribed Twenty Seventh National Encampment-Indianapolis 1893.
