This is a stylish sorrel gelding who stands 14.2 hands on a solid Column of bone. His balanced build translates to a smooth ride. Affectionately known as “Earl”, he’s been an integral part of many ranch jobs including gathering, sorting cattle, branding, pairing out, calving and trailing cattle. He has a comfortable, ground covering walk, trot and lope that’s well suited for any experienced rider who needs to get the job done or even head out on a trail ride. One of Earls greatest attributes is he is very sure-footed when traveling in steep terrain, over logs, across water even in snow mud and ice. This winter, Earl wore sharp shoes, but at time of consignment he is barefoot for spring. Earl doesn’t require Spurs as he is responsive to subtle leg cues as well as being soft in the bridle. He neck reins easily and stops promptly with a “whoa” He’s sound of body and mind with a kind, gentle demeanor. He picks up his feet like a gentleman and eagerly jumps in the trailer. Well broke, true ranch horses aren’t easy to find. Earl comes from a long line of Breeders who stand behind their horses. We are his only owner other than the breeder and we fully stand behind him.
