Item Details
.44 cal, s/n 2951, BP rifle, brl length 31.25" single action percussion, very good plus condition, Top of top strap is marked in two lines "COLT'S PT/1855" "ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". The cylinder is marked between two chambers at the flute "PATENTED SEPT. 10th 1850". The serial number is marked underside of frame as well as bottom of butt plate at toe. A majority of the high gloss colt bluing is present on the frame with areas of thinning most notably on top strap, on area where the loader lever pivots and upper and lower tang. The trigger guard has a brown/gray mottled patina with some freckling spots. The cylinder has a freckled patina throughout. Sliding adjustable dial lock rear sight retains a majority of the original finish with a German silver blade type sight fixed in dovetail. Finish on barrel has mostly thinned out having a gray/brown mottled patina throughout with some spotting. Bore has shine with nice deep rifling. There are a few scattered tool marks mostly rear portion of frame and top tang with some light surface scratches and flash pitting present around chamber areas mostly. The stock is walnut and has a checkered straight grip with a smooth forend showing very light wear. There is also the factory cleaning rod tip contained in the butt that attaches to the brass tipped hickory shafted cleaning rod.

6% Pa Sales Tax will be charged unless items are shipped out of state or if you have a current Pa Sales Tax Exemption Form on file with us along with a copy of your Sales Tax License.

The highest accepted bidder shall be the buyer and if a dispute arises between two or more recognized bidders, the auctioneer shall decide the buyer or immediately put the item up for sale again. The auctioneer's decision is final. If there is a tie bid between the floor and the internet the floor bid shall take precedence and the internet bidder shall have the option to raise his bid to the next increment. There are reasonable reserves on half of the lots offered for sale in this auction, the remaining lots sell to the highest bidder without reserve price.
All items must be removed from the auction premises by 5 PM June. 7, 2019, unless other arrangements are made prior to bidding. After that time ownership of any remaining items reverts to the seller and he shall have the right to resell or dispose of them at his discretion. Any property remaining on the premises is there at the buyer's risk and any loss or damage shall be born by the buyer.
Any announcements made before or during the auction take precedence over any previously distributed information.
The record of sale kept by the auctioneer and clerk will be taken as absolute and final in all disputes.
